Rapper Bow Wow and R&B singer Omarion will act as this year’s ambassadors and grand marshals for Howard University’s “Hollywood Howard Homecoming Parade” this year.
Legendary singer Chaka Khan will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies during the 9th annual parade, which takes place from 10:00 am – 12:00 PM, Saturday, October 20.
The parade will start on Howard University’s campus and proceed Southbound on Georgia Avenue, NW, past the Presidential Reviewing Stand, Howard University Hospital and the historic LeDroit Park Community.
At LeDriot Park, various junior high schools, senior high schools and community and local bands will compete for cash prizes during the 9th Annual “Chevy Showcase of Bands,” hosted by international supermodel and actor Tyson Beckford.
At 1:00 PM, Bow Wow and Omarion will then perform the official coin “toss” for a game between the Howard Bison and the North Carolina A&T Aggies.
Other celebrities confirmed to take part during Howard’s homecoming include Taraji P. Henson, Tank, Melyssa Ford, Bethann Hardison, Stephen Nichols and others.
