OK, I’m sure I am going to catch flack for this, but I have to call Montell Jordan the Epic Fail of the Day. Why? I’ll explain in a second. Here is the news, Montell was a highly regarded singer on Def Jam Reocrds and scored a major hit in the 90’s with “This Is How We Do It.” We all loved that song. That song was an anthem on colleges and strip clubs alike. He went platinum and sold well. Then the spotlight went away. Now he’s been recording and even dropped a solo album in 2008, which was ignored by everybody if they even knew it came out. Now, Montell has found it in his heart to announce his retirement to the world and has said that he’ll perform “This Is How We Do It” one last time on New Year’s Eve 2010. He’s now a born-again Christian and seeks to b a full time pastor at an Atlanta area church. Hmmmmm….but this is how he is going into his ministry? Well, I am not one to judge…ok I am sometimes, but this just strikes me as bizarre. Its like a soon-to-be married man smashing a hoe to get one more in right before living right with his wife. I guess, I don’t get why it has to be so much fanfare around it. Go do the right thing and be a preacher. My play a lil’ game of getting some attention right before you do the right thing? HMPH! Everybody’s a media w#### these days!
