No way!!! Another legend of hip hop gone… Such A shame, Im guessing it was A health issue, get rid of the fast food and schitt… RIP STARRR

    • dominicancoke

word heavy d lost alotta weight years back but when he was in the bet hip hop awards he seem to gain it all back fast food kill more minorities than guns do

      • vfocused

I was thinking that too jadiel, that weight loss could have contributed. I remember the last time I saw him on screen he had loss alot and then u r right on the awards, it looked he put some back on but I dont think he gained as much weight as he had back in the 80’s and 90’s. Some times the heart cant take it when it has to work harder to maintain for alot of weigh, then the heart works better cus of less weight, then the heart is expected to work hard again cus of more weight put back on. The heart just stops. Dont know if this was why he died but read that he told someone he could not breathe, which is a symptom of a heart attack. After (Big Pun), I thought some of these overweight rappers would wise up and be healthy as Heavy did try to do with losing the weight. Back in the day it was cool to be a heavy rapper– (Fat Boyz), (Biggie)  But as you can see with (Rick Ross) with his health issues, its just not healthy, just saying. I also agree todays rapper dont have nothin on the rappers of the 90’s, that is why Eminem’s is killin them!!!! and he is what 30 sumthin’. Dont wanna say ” death 2 no one but I understand you mean death to the sorry rap. If we could just get half of them back, we would have something better 2 listen 2. RIP HEAVY!!!

      • dominicancoke

yeah son i feel what you’re saying after that rick ross health scare these dudes should lead by example fat joe doing it just how they like telling there core fanbase how cool it is to floss diamond chains and drive expensive foreign cars they should tell them being over weight is not cool and that u can die from it make that cool this country lets these fast food joints feed our kids and than we wonder why little roger cant climb the steps with out pausing for breath  people should realize losin weight does not only make u look better and feel better about your self but it preserves you as a human being eat to live and dont eat to live

It’s not cool to wish death on ANYBODY fam, especially not over ur dislike of their music/art whatever u wanna call it.

      • dominicancoke

im not really wishing them death its a metaphor for better music like would u rather have this person still living and this persons career never even started but i would never wish death on a artist cause they suck lol

  12. BibatheDiva

I am truly mourning the loss of a musical legend who helped create the soundtrack that defined my most formative years. Thank you, Hev, for every thing that you contributed to this amazing, fluid, evolving culture. Requiem in terra pax.

  13. MalcolmLittle

Wow…I been checkin the story on HipHopDX too, and the disrespect I’m seein for Hev over there is UNREAL!  Smmfh…I sure am glad to see AHH posters handlin this with maturity and givin proper condolences for a man who was all about positivity…

  14. D.R.'ah

I remember on one of Heav’s album’s he was saying that what ever people had to say about him, he just wanted to be remembered as one of the greatest in his day, and he was! Still is, these new young artist should appreciate people who paved the way for them to express their form of art, weather good or bad. Life in God’s eye’s is precious, in society life has no value. Appreciate the time you have here! Make sure your house is in order, so when your time comes you can hear the Lord say, ” Well done thou good and faithful servant, I welcome you into my Kingdome”, I have prepaired a place for you! Death is the only thing in life that is final and absolute, where will you spend eternity! God bless and keep Mr. Myers and his family!

    RIP Heavy D,

The whole Africa will miss you. No family party in Africa without
at least playing Big Daddy once..

Heavy D might have not been hot in the US at late,
but in Africa this man could fill soccer stadiums.

To all the haters. you probably need to learn more
    about Hip-Hop.

Without Heavy D, a lot won’t have happened.
And the fact he brought us his cousin Pete is enough
    contribution to the game.

Nobody was able to bridge Hip_hop and Dancehall as
heavy did. “Dem no worry we” One of my fav tues of all times.

    You’ll be missed.
