VIDEO: Brooklyn Hip Hop Fest's Kickstarter Campaign Ends Monday; Busta Rhymes, Freeway and More On Tap for July 14

(AllHipHop News) In support of their upcoming Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, the planners at Brooklyn Bodega recently launched an online Kickstarter Campaign – and it’s not too late for Hip-Hop fans to contribute their donations to the cause.

The 8th Annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival (BHF 2012) is scheduled for July 9-14, and will include workshops, concerts, films, vendors, and more.

YMCMB signee Busta Rhymes is headlining the festival this year, followed by Philadelphia’s legendary wordsmith, Freeway.

In addition to Freeway, the festival will also feature performances by hometown Brooklyn artist KA, Detroit’s MCs Clear Soul Forces, Jasmine Solano, and Melo-X.

And, as the BHF 2012 is clearly focused on performances, the festival will showcase classic Hip-Hop films like Wild Style, starring Hip-Hop pioneers Fab Five Freddy, The Cold Crush Brothers, Rock Steady Crew, Lady Pink, Lee Quinones, Grandmaster Flash, Grandmaster Caz, and many others.

In the video below, Wes Jackson, executive director of Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, explains how Kickstarter donations help his committee start with an open space and transform it into a village of sorts for Hip-Hop lovers of all ages each summer.
