A$AP Rocky Reveals Who He Felt Had The Best Verse On “1 Train’

(AllHipHop News) It has been a long tradition in Hip-Hop for fans to argue over which rapper had the best verse on collaborations and posse cuts.

Barber shows and internet forums have been the sites of heartfelt, heated discussions like: Which Juice Crew All-Star (Big Daddy Kane, Kool G. Rap, Craig G, or Masta Ace) came on top on “The Symphony?” Who was your favorite rapper from the “4,3,2,1,” remix- LL Cool J, Canibus, DMX, Method Man, or Redman? And of course the infamous Eminem vs Jay-Z “Renegade” debate.

Well, the lead artist of a recent multi-rapper track has revealed who he felt was the hands down victor, and no, he didn’t name himself.

A$AP Rocky recently proclaimed in an interview on Vevo that he believes Mississippi born emcee Big K.R.I.T. was the standout performer on the song “1 Train” off his debut album LONG.LIVE.A$AP.

“Big K.R.I.T. has the best verse, and Ima stick to that. He went in,” says Rocky. “He had like 30-something bars, but he did have the best verse in my opinion.”

“1 Train” featured seven of the hottest rising rappers in the game right now. A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Yelawolf, Danny Brown, Action Bronson, and Big K.R.I.T all laid down verses over the Hit-Boy produced track.

Almost instantly after the song hit the internet Hip-Hop heads started dissecting the lyrics, flow, and delivery of each emcee to determine which one took the crown.

Even though “1 Train” was put together by A$AP Rocky, his choice probably won’t sway every rap fan’s opinion of their favorite verse from the song. So inevitably the debate continues.

Listen to “1 Train” below. Who do you think has the best verse?

I listen to all them boys that was on that song (gotta mention freddie gibbs who wasnt on the song). From they mixtape days too. And krit is by far the best artist out the bunch. Kkendrick got the lyrics and concepts, asap got the feel, danny and bronson just crazy with they shit. But krit has it all. His production is great, his lyrics are all on point, and hes sayin somethin. All at the highest level. Thay all got some classic music, but krit is the truth. If u dnt know bout homie bu now, u need to catch up quick

If he woulda dropped in any other era, he would be up there with anyone in the game right now. Lyrics, concepts, hooks, flow, cadence, he has it all!!! Verry underated

Gibbs has quickly become 1 of my favourite MCs of all time since i first heard him back in 09, he is 1 of the few (emphasis on FEW) current artists that im always excited to hear new sh!t from.

Not sure who was who, ( Time markers? ) and I’m not familiar with their music / voices, but this track was proper.

I’ll start checking for them based on this.

(*Substance is lacking, but the flow, delivery, etc., were on point.

Kendrick, krit, joey badass and freddie gibbs got all the substance u need homie. Of course they got they ignant shit, but theyball get deep in they own way. All I listen to, other than the default shit (nas, big, outkast, jay, pac) are these nggz. Danny brown just wild with his shit and action like ghostface. Yellawolfs “trunk music” was hard, but I havnt been feelin his recent shit. Asap got that feel. U wanna get bkunted and drunk to that shit. Honestly, this the most talent I seen come from new nggz in a kong ass time.

i hope u @ least bought the ninja’s album tho… cant stand hypebeast’s that act like they’re the #1 fan but aint support the debuts!!!

      • EDOGZ818

Would it count if he illegally downloaded it, played it late at night, at high volumes, while driving through residential neighborhoods, causing 100 people to hear it, then buy it legitimately?

Promoting it is also support, even if one can’t afford to “purchase” the product.

no it wouldnt… no hate but thing is wat @bm did was borderline d!ckriding let alone promo, hence my ??? and opinion… im sure u understood my point tho, so there’s no need to make excuse’s and or create scenarios… look the moment u wish to describe urself as a diehard fan, one must purchase the official work(album, singles, shows) “@ the very least” in order to bare/claim that title… if not then ur jus a hypebeast/bandwagon @ss ninja bottom line, bcuz its not like $10 is gonna set u back that far especially when it comes to artists like krit!

I’ll call it promo, and agree to disagree, because think about it, many an artist has been given a shot, based on a cosign in these comments.

I would have never heard of Jedi mind Tricks, or Pace1 if not for the comments.

Antoine Dodson blew up after getting featured in ILLseed’s Rumors.

no doubt… but lets not get to far off topic, i seriously hope @bm did pick up the album tho… if not then i cant respect that!
