Waka Flocka Flame Cancels Performance At University Of Oklahoma After SAE Video

Waka Flocka Flame has cancelled an upcoming performance at the University of Oklahoma after a hateful video of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity chanting a racist rhyme went viral. In the short clip, members are heard chanting “There will never be a n—–r in S-A-E!/You can hang him from a tree, but he can never sign with me//There will never be a n—-r in SAE” on a bus. After Waka caught wind of this video, he took to his Instagram to cancel his performance, which was going to be at an event with that very chapter of the organization.

“SMFH.. I know for a fact the whole school and SAE don’t agree with those kids actions so know that I’m not madd at the whole #SAE just those disgusting kids!!!!!!#WFF We can’t change history but we damn sure can create our own future #DeathToRacism,” he wrote in his caption.

The performance was scheduled for Apr. 25th.

This would not have been the first event the “Hard In The Paint” rapper has performed at with the frat. A YouTube video shows him performing at one of their events back in May 2014.

“Let our decision weld a platform of conversation rather than raise the brows of anger among those who share our distaste and disgust from such a video,” said the president of Waka’s management team Brick Bronson in a press release. “This was not a disciplinary action on the innocent students, nor among the guilty that share such wayward thoughts, but a collective reminder of the stain in which remains.”
