Lil Durk Cleared Of Probation Violation & Has Gun Charges Dropped In Cook County Court

LIL DURK BEATS GUN CHARGE

(AllHipHop News) Chicago rapper Lil Durk has dodged a bullet once again as he was cleared of violating probation and had gun charges dropped by prosecutors in a Cook County court.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Judge Timothy Joyce found that prosecutors proved that the rapper knew that the guns were present in an Orlando Park townhome he was renting, but failed to prove that he had “possession and control” of the weapons.

The judge’s decision stems from a 2014 incident in which law enforcement discovered two handguns on his kitchen counter as Lil Durk, real name Durk Banks, walked down the stairs to the first floor of the townhome.

Assistant State’s Attorney Holly Kremlin presented the case that Banks violated his probation because he was aware that the guns and the owners of the weapons were present in the home.

She also would argue that Banks admitted to the police that the guns were his.

However, Bank’s attorney Sam Adam’s Jr. stated that such an admission was never noted by law enforcement.

The rapper was on edge, but was fully confident in his representation in the end.

“I was kind of nervous, but I ain’t ever nervous about the truth because I know God is on my side and I got a good lawyer,” said a relieved Banks.
