(AllHipHop News) Mariah Carey is spreading her wings as an entrepreneur, with the launch of her new record label Butterfly MC Records.
According to the terms of the deal, the first batch of music released under Butterly MC Records will come from Mariah herself.
She has been in the studio working on new music specifically for the launch of the label.
“I am putting my heart and soul into making more new music,” Mariah said. “I am so thrilled for this next chapter and to continue working with, and for, everyone that I love.”
Mariah’s new label marks the extension of her partnership with Epic Records, which was established in 2015 when she signed with the label, which is headed up by the legendary music executive Antonio “LA” Reid.
“To continue working with Mariah Carey at Epic has been another rewarding chapter of my career,” said Mr. Reid. “Mariah’s incomparable talents as a singer, with her vocal range that is nothing short of legendary, are matched by her brilliance as a songwriter, producer, and performer par excellence.

Mariah Carey’s untitled studio album for her label Butterfly MC Records is due out later this year.
