Lil Yachty Accused Of Stealing “Peek A Boo” Song From Another Rapper

MEMPHIS ASH WANTS MONEY FROM LIL BOAT

(AllHipHop News) Lil Yachty is not even a week removed from releasing his debut studio album, but the 19-year-old Atlanta native is already facing legal issues over a record from the project.

Teenage Emotions includes the single “Peek A Boo” featuring Migos.

Another rapper known as Memphis Ash is claiming Yachty’s track is a rip off of his song “Pikachu.”

According to TMZ, Ash’s lawyer sought royalties from Lil Boat, and he is considering having “Peek A Boo” removed from online outlets like Spotify and iTunes.

The website reports:

Memphis Ash released a song called “Pikachu” last year, where he naturally rhymes the word “peek a boo” throughout it. Well apparently lawyers for Ash filed a cease & desist claiming Yachty’s track copies his verse & hook.

Couch K, Yachty’s manager, says he aint buying it, and that “Peek A Boo” is a totally different song, which is tough to argue with.

Memphis Ash’s “Pikachu” has collected over 150,000 plays on SoundCloud and 100,000 plays on YouTube.

The song was added to iTunes on November 14, 2016, where it’s labeled as “Pikachue Peekaboo.”
