(AllHipHop News) Kanye West continued his non-traditional rollout of his new album Yeezus this weekend. His latest effort was debuting a new visual inspired by the 2000 Christian Bale film American Psycho. The 2-minute clip was projected on a building in Los Angeles during an album listening party.
Kanye’s version stars Kardashian clan member Scott Disick and family friend Jonathan Cheban. Disick stars as Bale’s “Patrick Bateman” character and Cheban takes on the role of “Paul Allen” originally played by Jared Leto. The short film is an homage to the movie’s “Do you like Huey Lewis and the News?” scene where Bateman murders Allen with an ax.

This is not the first time Kanye has shown he is a fan of the film adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’s serial killer novel. Back 2008, Kanye appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and shared that American Pyscho was also inspiration for his 808s and Heartbreak album and the video for “Love Lockdown.”
“On [808s and Heartbreak] I kind of embody Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, ” said West. “You know at the end of the movie [that] he didn’t really kill anyone. [I just liked] the clean aesthetic and the way he was all about labels. I wanted to express all of that in the [‘Love Lockdown’] video.”
