Snoop Lion: “I Want To Bury Snoop Dogg”

(AllHipHop News) Snoop Dogg is going through some major changes in his music and personal life and the metamorphosis manifests itself in a new reggae album, Reincarnated.

Snoop spoke to a small group of journalists at Miss Lily’s, a popular Caribbean restaurant in New York and explained his new-found attitude.

“When I make records I like to come from the heart and records that means something, that’s gonna really change the world. And on this particular project, I had no planning on going to Jamaica, making a reggae record. The spirit called me. And, you know, anytime the spirit calls you, you gotta know that its serious.”

Snoop continued saying that the spirit he felt in Jamaica moved him in such a way that he evoked the late Bob Marley. “I’ve always said that I was Bob Marley reincarnated.” Incidentally, Rohan Marley was also in attendance, supporting Snoop’s new incarnation.

After speaking with his business manager, he decided to reach out to super producer Diplo and artist Major Lazer to begin crafting the album.

He said he had to establish some rules to the people that were working with him on the project.

“I basically let them know what I want. Its not that I want to become Snoop Dogg in a reggae track…I want to bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion.” The Long Beach representative said that after a spiritual meeting with a high priest his old name was discarded and replaced with “Lion.”

The rapper said that he’s “tired” of rap music and that he had seen the highest levels of achievement in the genre that make him famous.

“Rap is not a challenge to me. I had enough of that. It’s not appealing to me no more. I don’t have no challenges,” he insisted. “I’m ‘Uncle Snoop’ in rap. When you get to be an uncle, you need to find a new profession so you can start over and be fresh again. I want to be a kid again.”

Snoop said that his Hip-Hop life has also made it difficult for him to offer live shows that weren’t inundated with profanity, sex and violence.

“I’ve always wanted to perform for kids, my grand mother and people around the world that love me, can’t accept the music that I make. This reggae music is the music of love, happiness and struggle.”

Snoop made it clear that he wasn’t fully retiring from Hip-Hop, but that he felt a need to express his personal growth through the music.

“Now as a 40-year-old man, the artists call me Uncle Snoop, I gotta give ’em something. I can’t keep taking them to a dead end street and dropping them off. I gotta teach ’em how to fish, teach ’em how to grow…”

Reincarnated was also produced with a DVD movie that documented the creation of Snoop Lion. Watch the official trailer below, and take a listen to his new track, “La La La”:

FASHION FOR THE GOLD: Olympic Star Athletes Shine With Star Designers

During the Olympics, the stage is set for teams to walk away with the gold, they are also stepping out and making some serious fashion statements. Sports attire is no longer bland and predictable. With one of the biggest sporting events in progress, athletes are shining in more than one way.

You have swimmer Ryan Lochte and his funky and wild grill, as well as the Italian team and their stylish Armani suits, plus multicolored nails and hair, and yes, all in one place. Many seemed to adore Switzerland’s uniforms, while Team USA has caught some unwanted attention.

Designers are also setting aim at the top spots. With the all of the world watching, why not make it a runway of sorts?  After all the fittest bodies will be showing off their designs.

On Friday the opening ceremony was an array of talent, but style, too – Prada, Ralph Lauren, and Stella McCartney, were among the uniform and suit-designing elite, for the most elite, from every county around the world. Many in the fashion industry are saying this Olympics is the most stylish one of all.

For the designers that didn’t add Olympic uniforms to their resume, they still have a chance to market to millions. Anyway you look at it, the Olympics 2012 are a set up for a win. Even with the well-to-do among the spectators, there’s a guarantee that the high end labels and eye catching designs will make their way into the stands, too. It’s a fashion fest all the way around.

Who gets the Fashion Gold in your opinion?

FEEL RICH VIDEO: How To Get The V (“The Love Muscle”)

Editor’s Note: “Feel Rich” is our partnership with QD3, the talented son of music legend Quincy Jones. “Feel Rich” is all about creating a healthy lifestyle for Hip-Hop culture – both the artists and the fans. Enjoy!

It is summertime and that means time to hit the beach or pool and get your summer loving on.  In this video, Ed Checo from Barstarzz gives you the tips and workout you need to get the V-cut so many people are after.

Also know as the “Adonis Belt”, the “V” or pelvic muscle, is a muscle that screams sexual attraction. It’s coveted, and it doesn’t come easy, but it is possible. However, to get the V, it’s important to reach a low body fat when trying to get a defined one. The lower the body fat percentage, the more defined it will be. Outside from diet, you need good exercises that will target that muscle group for this were using leg raises, leg flutters, and scissors.

The routine consists of:
10 Leg raises
10 seconds of leg flutters
10 Leg scissors

For all the exercises you want to make sure to keep your legs fully locked out. There is no break in-between the exercises.  Take a short break when you’re done with the last rep of the last exercise. Then rest one to two minutes and repeat. You want to get around three to four sets. Make sure you are focusing on the V cut when performing each exercise and envision your ideal V.  Throughout your workout, make sure your feet never touch the ground.

Tweet us pics of your progress or questions about the routine at @FeelRich and @Barstarzz.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Eve Says Stevie J “Couldn’t Even See This”

If you watch VH1’s “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta”, you know that Stevie J is one hot mess of a train wreck. He is openly cheating on his baby mama, Mimi, with his hot Latina artist, Joseline Hernandez. The dude also makes a fool out of himself on each and every episode.

It looks like rapper Eve has caught an episode or two of the show, and is thanking her lucky stars that she didn’t stay with Stevie. You see, back in the ’90s, when Stevie was actually known for producing hits, he and Eve were one of the first Hip-Hop couples and were even engaged for a short time.

Well, Eve did a recent interview where she spoke on her relationship with Stevie, and said that the woman she is now is totally different from the girl she was when she with Stevie. She revealed that her ex “couldn’t even see this” right now, and that she is “thankful” they broke up. Check out what Eve revealed below:

On if Stevie J was her first love:
Yes, Stevie J was my first love.

On how she defines the ‘love’ between her and Stevie back then:
You know what…that was a learning experience. You meet people all the time. We just happen to fall in love. Umm, but thankfully I knew better, I know better, I am happily in love now. And the girl now (referring to herself) he couldn’t even see this. I would be like, “I’m sorry, we don’t speak the same language!” But you know, it is what it is….that’s life. Sometimes you meet people who aren’t great for you but thankfully I am in a different place.

On things she would not put up with now that she is older and knows better:
When I was younger I didn’t question things but now I am annoying! Like if something doesn’t feel right speak up! If you feel like you are being lied to speak up! If you feel like Sexually he is trying to push you to fast speak up. And let me tell you something. Anybody that knows your worth it will stick around. They might not talk to you about it, they may talk to you about it but if they argue with you or if they call you a name or if they roll out they are not meant to be in your life anyways….

It sounds like Eve is singing Beyonce’s “Best Thing You Never Had” at the top of her lungs right now. Good for her!

EXCLUSIVE: Tech N9ne Reveals Plans To Collaborate With Nas And Rick Ross On New Album; Responds to “Mainstream” Accusations

(AllHipHop News) With a record-breaking tour to his name and the gold-certification of his 2006 single “Caribou Lou” both occurring in the past month, Strange Music founder Tech N9ne has begun plotting out details for his fourteenth solo studio album, E.B.A.H.

“They say I did All 6’s and 7’s in 28 days, and I want to believe that,” Tech N9ne told AllHipHop.com. “But if you do a song a day, then you’ve got 28 days, and I usually did three songs a day back when I had time. Now I’m writing in the studio, because I can’t write on tour. I’m just going to see what comes out of me in the next 28 days.”

Regarding possible collaborations for his new album, Tech N9ne spoke on an idea he had to record with Rick Ross for a track called “Heaven and Hell”: “I love Rick as a person, and I love what he’s become lyrically, and I don’t give a f*ck what nobody say.

“Hopefully we can make it happen. Same thing with [Eminem]. I’ve got an idea for Em and I’m trying to make it happen and if he thinks I’m good enough to do a song with then it’ll happen.”

Tech N9ne revealed that he has ideas for records with the likes of Roscoe Dash, Nas, Waka Flocka, Marsha Ambrosius, and Talib Kweli brewing in his head as well.

Regarding the accusations that he’s gone “mainstream” and “sold-out” after more high-profile collaborations with Lil Wayne, T-Pain, B.o.B., and Busta Rhymes on his last album, All 6’s and 7’s, he responded, “The mainstream is gonna go Tech, motherf*cker. The real sh*t always shines,” he proclaimed to AllHipHop.com.

“I know I’m not popular enough for everybody and Hip-Hop is a popularity contest,” he conceded. “I’m not going to go above and beyond to be the most popular if my lyrics can’t speak for me.”
