Rap star Young Jeezy has landed a role in Ice Cube’s upcoming comedy, Janky Promoters. Jeezy, born Jay Jenkins, will star as himself – a “big-name hip-hop act”- in the comedy, which is the first screenplay Ice Cube has penned since 2002’s Friday After Next. Janky Promoters, which is directed by Marcus Raboy, centers around two underhanded concert promoters played by Ice Cube and comedian Mike Epps. The pair get into trouble with a neighborhood nemesis. Jeezy is gearing up for his forthcoming third major album, The Recession which is due in stores this August. Janky Promoters is due in theaters in 2009.
