D-12 rapper Bizarre is gearing up to unleash his forthcoming album, Blue Cheese ‘n’ Coney Island. The title of the release, which features guest appearances from Tech9ne and King Gordy, carries a personal connection for the Detroit native.”I named it ‘Blue Cheese ‘n’ Coney Island’ basically because in Detroit we’re known for our Coney Islands (hot dogs),” Bizarre said. “A lot of people that visit there may think it’s nasty, but only a true Detroiter can appreciate that. I still live in Atlanta, but if you’re from Detroit, you just can’t get it out of your system. So I have to go back every two weeks or so to stay in tune. I’m just a Detroit guy.”The lead single from Blue Cheese ‘n’ Coney Island, “Fat Boy,” is produced by early Eminem collaborating producer Jeff Bass. The new album is the latest musical endeavor for Bizarre, who achieved platinum success with D-12 and was featured on fellow D-12 member Eminem’s last three albums.Blue Cheese ‘n’ Coney Island is the follow up to the rapper’s debut release Hannicap Circus. The album, which sold more than 21,000 copies in its first week of release, debuted at number 12 on the Billboard Rap chart.Bizarre’s Blue Cheese ‘n’ Coney Island is slated to hit stores Oct. 9.
