(AllHipHop News) Run The Jewels rapper Killer Mike has been honored with his own day in his native Atlanta, Georgia.
The hip-hop star, real name Michael Render, headed to Atlanta City Hall on Monday, when City Councilman Andre Dickens presented him with a proclamation declaring it Killer Mike Render Day.
The accolade recognizes Mike’s work as a musician, an activist, and a businessman, after recently unveiling plans to open his second Shave, Wash, and Groom (SWAG) Shop in the area.
Prior to the ceremony, Mike invited fans to join him at the celebration via Instagram.
Alongside a poster with details about the event, he wrote, “Y’all Fall thru (sic) and Rock With Me tomorrow. #Honored #Humbled #Happy.”
It’s the latest honor for Mike – in March, he was invited to the Georgia State Capitol to meet with officials as he was applauded for his longtime activism and philanthropy work.
Last September, he also had a massive city water drilling machine named after him after campaigning for lawmakers to improve the water system in Atlanta.
