Teen Hip-Hop duo, The New Boyz, have capitalized off of a buzz worthy dance craze with the release of their debut single, “You’re A Jerk”.
The California natives, however, do not take credit for the new dance phenomenon. They cite Los Angeles as the birth place.
“We did not create the Jerk,” Ben J. told AllHipHop.com. “We wanted to learn the dance, because we saw the potential that the dance had. When we learned it in Los Angeles, we saw it becoming big.”
With influences such as Jay-Z and Eminem, Ben J and Legacy affirmed their sexuality and addressed the homosexuality claims from their fashion style choice of wearing the trendy male-skinny jeans.
“We ignore that,” added Legacy. “We’re doing us. We’re focused on us. We don’t down anyone for having their own style.”
The New Boyz’s debut album, Skinny Jeans & A Mic, will be released on September 15th through Asylum/Warner Bros Records.
