Hip-Hop artist Pitbull was released on $1,000 dollars bond today, after being arrested this morning (December 21) in Miami on DUI charges.
According to police, Pitbull, born Armando Perez, was booked into Miami-Dade county jail around 6:50 am for allegedly driving his Mercedes-Benz 93 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Police claim they asked the rapper to exit his car three times, before he finally complied and exited his luxury vehicle.
When police smelled liquor on the rapper’s breath, he was asked to take field sobriety tests, which he allegedly failed.
“With respect to Armando Perez’ [Pitbull] arrest this morning, this is to inform you that Mr. Perez will be pleading not guilty to all charges,” said Angela N. Martinez, P.A., legal representative for Mr. Perez. “This is all the unfortunate result of a misunderstanding. Mr. Perez and his legal team are confident that these charges will not be upheld.”
Pitbull’s latest album The Boatlift is currently #24 on Billboard’s Independent Album chart.
The rapper offered fans some advice during the holiday season via his attorney.
“Mr. Perez asked me to remind everyone to drink responsibly during this holiday season,” Martinez said.
