(AllHipHop News) A variety of rappers will unite to show their support for incarcerated Hot Boy group member Turk, who is slated to appear in court today (October 15th) in regards to his 12-year prison sentence. While the details about his court-date today are scarce, the New Orleans rapper is planning the “Hip-Hop Unity Conference Call,” that will be open to the public this Sunday (October 17th) featuring a variety of rappers, including former group member/Cash Money artist B.G.According to Turk’s manager Steve Williams, he hopes to share some exciting, important updates about Turk’s pending release from prison, after serving over seven years for shooting at members of the Memphis S.W.A.T. team during a raid of an apartment in Memphis, Tennessee in 2004.In addition to updating fans and artists about Turk and his career, The purpose of the call is to foster unity among artists in the South. “There are a few influential people that are in the process of forming change and bring culture to the forefront through unity, and that is this team of people and Turk as a soldier. (AllHipHop News) The booking agents for rap star Waka Flocka Flames has been hit with another lawsuit, claiming the rapper’s manager raised his asking price for a show twice, and then failed to show up for the performance. Promoter Walter Conwell DBA as G.D.B. Promotions is suing Debra Antney, Johnnie Cabbell, Hitt Afta Hitt Entertainment and So Icey Ent for over $1,000,000 dollars. The lawsuit claims that G.D.B. spent over $20,000 dollars to book Waka Flocka Flame for an under 21 show in Birmingham, Alabama in June of 2009. According to the lawsuit, which was filed in Circuit Court of Jefferson County, Alabama, G.D.B. Promotions sent a $1,800 deposit to secure Waka Flocka, with another $1,500 due when the rapper arrived at the venue. After the wire was sent, G.D.B. claimed that he was contacted by Hitt After Hitt and told that Waka Flocka would no longer honor the agreement, because  the rapper was booked by JAMZ FM, a local Hip-Hop station. G.D.B., which purchased advertising time with JAMZ, attempted to reach Hitt Afta Hitt with reps from JAMZ, but couldn’t contact a representative for Hitt Afta Hitt to resolve the issue. According to the lawsuit, Waka Flocka’s mother, Debra Antney confirmed that the radio request was false and agreed to honor the date – if D.G.B. paid the new asking price of $4,000. Additionally, the rap star wouldn’t honor the original date and set a new performance date of November 28th. The week of the show, his road manager allegedly demanded another $2,750 instead of $1,750. G.D.B. claims they honored the new agreement and sent additional monies to Hitt Afta Hitt, in addition to spending extra money for fliers, tickets and the new venue. “After hearing both sides of the story Ms. Antney called the artist and told them to turn around and do the show, but because it was a teen show, the Birmingham curfew had already set in and the Plaintiff’s venue had closed. Walter Conwell and G.D.B. seek over $60,000 in damages and $1,000,000 dollars in punitive damages in addition to attorney fees. 

(AllHipHop News) Young Money rap diva Nicki Minaj will be in good company in the next couple of months as she shows appreciation for U.S. troops as part of this year’s VH1 Divas special.  The entertainer will join singers Keri Hilson, Katy Perry and music groups Sugarland and Paramore for the event, which will be taped at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego.  In addition to performing via satellite, Paramore will visit Marines, soldiers, airmen, sailors, coastguardsmen and reservists at an undisclosed military base in the Middle East Minaj’s appearance on VH1 Divas Salute the Troops comes as the rapstress gears up for the release of her forthcoming debut album, Pink Friday. Media sources report the offering, originally scheduled to hit stores Nov. 23, will now arrive a day early on Nov. 22. The new release date will place Pink Friday among a string of albums coming out the same day, including Jay-Z’s The Hits Collection Vol. 1, Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Ne-Yo’s Libra Scale and Akon’s Stadium. With three BET Hip Hop Awards to her credit,  Minaj is riding a wave of momentum leading to Pink Friday. The femcee recently made Billboard history by becoming the first female rapper to top Billboard’s Rap singles chart since 2002 with her hit song, “Your Love” as well as garner the most entries at one time on the Billboard Hot 100 with seven singles on Nielsen Soundscan’s 200 best-selling songs of 2010. VH1 Divas Salute the Troops featuring Nicki Minaj will air Dec. 5 on VH1. The Armed Forces Network will broadcast the show internationally.

Ras Kass is currently in the studio preparing his debut album for Zoo Life, which is distributed worldwide by Fontana/Universal. “I’ve always been a fan of Ras Kass plus he’s my homey,” said Big Bad 40 aka 40 Glocc. “With me gaining the opportunity to have a real label with distribution I automatically want artists with good music to come eat with me.”Ras Kass’ last official release was in July of 2010, when he dropped A.D.I.D.A.S. (All Day I Dream About Spittin) with DJ Rhettmatic. The 26-track download featured a variety of artists, including Ice-T and David Banner, while production was handled by The Alchemist, DJ Babu, Mr. Porter and DJ Rhettmatic. According to 40 Glocc, signing Ras Kass was part of his plan to move his record label forward and develop the Zoo Life imprint into a powerhouse label. “When you deal with corporate America, no one has time for excuses and you are held accountable for every little thing, that’s gangsta to me,” 40 Glocc said. “It’s a say what you mean and mean what you say kind of business. The album is the debut full-length from Dirty Money, which includes Combs, Kalenna Harper and Dawn Richard. According to a press release, Last Train To Paris will finally be released on December 14th, 2010. The album has already produced a hit single titled “Hello Good Morning,” which has already been certified gold. The group is preparing two new releases from Last Train To Paris. In the next two weeks, the new single “Coming Home” will impact radio, while a video for “Loving You No More” featuring Drake will premiere in the coming weeks. Last Train To Paris features guest appearances by Lil Wayne, Usher, Drake, Swizz Beatz, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Grace Jones, Trey Songz and others. Producers include D’Mile, Polow Da Don, Danja, Sean Garrett, Tricky Stewart, The Dream, Swizz Beatz and Mario Winans. An $85 million dollar 2005 lawsuit involving former Philadelphia radio jock and Fabolous is slated to head to court in New York this week. In 2004, Lisa “Golden Girl” Natson was allegedly assaulted by Fabolous’ bodyguard, after Power 99FM’s annual Powerhouse concert. The incident started when Golden Girl and a friend was on Fabolous’ tour bus chatting with Fabolous. When she “asked for a ride to the top of the ramp,” the rap star’s bodyguard became irritated and refused her request. When she threatened to stop playing the rapper’s#### single “Breathe” on the radio, the bodyguard picked her up off her feet and allegedly slammed her to the ground. According to TheMusic.Fm, a trial is scheduled to start this week in regards to the lawsuit. Fabolous denied the charges in a previous interview. “I never touched or did anything to Golden Girl, therefore, I am not involved and do not have anything further to say or do with that incident,” Fabolous told AllHipHop.com. In addition to working for Power 99FM, Golden Girl published a book titled Sex and Celebrities: The Truth, The Whole Truth, The Naked Truth, where she described a sexual encounter with Lil Kim. Rapper Petey Pablo surrendered to federal authorities yesterday (October 13th), for bringing a gun into the Raleigh-Durham International Airport on September 11th, 2010. The rapper was busted by airport security, when they found a stolen 9mm handgun and ammunition, inside his carry-on luggage. According TMZ.com, Petey Pablo will have to go back to court in November to face charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm and attempting to take a gun onto an airplane. In the meantime, Petey Pablo, born Moses Barrett III, must report a U.S. probation officer. If he travels, he must submit a complete itinerary of all of his plans one month before his trip. Additionally, the rapper must submit to drug testing and refrain from excessive alcohol use. Representatives for Petey Pablo claimed that he stashed the gun in his bag to hide it from a distraught friend, who may have used the weapon. The rapper allegedly forgot the gun was in the bag, when he attempted to board a plane for Los Angeles on 9-11, to attend the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.

(AllHipHop News) Dr. Marc Lamont Hill, a Hip-Hop intellectual and associate college professor, has filed a $1 million dollar lawsuit against the Philadelphia police, claiming officers are harassing him.Dr. Hill, an Associate Professor at Columbia University at Teachers College, filed the lawsuit in United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, claiming that two officers harassed him. Dr. Hill, who is currently a political contributor for Fox News Channel, regularly appears on programs such as The O’Reilly Factor, Huckabee, and Hannity in addition to being featured on other channels like CNN, MSNBC, and CourtTV. According to the lawsuit, the incident unfolded on June 17th in the city of Philadelphia, when Dr. Hill to produce his vehicle registration, to which Hill complied. After questioning why he was being stopped, Officer Decoatsworth allegedly yanked Hill out of the car by his arm, pushed his fist into his back and asked Hill if he “could afford” his vehicle. As this occurred, another unnamed officer searched through Hill’s vehicle without his consent. Officer DeCoatsworth then told Hill to “get out of this neighborhood and go home” and never charged the professor with a crime. Dr. Hill, who is a resident of Philadelphia, earned his P.H.D from the University of Pennsylvania. He claims the officers violated his First, Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment rights.”The Constitutional violations suffered by Plaintiff were the result of the City’s policies, procedures, customs and practices of allowing its officers to make stops without reasonable suspicion, and to use unreasonable and excessive force thereby violating the civil rights of those with whom they come into contact,” Hill’s lawyer Leonard K. Hill said in court papers.Dr. Marc Lamont-Hill recently made headlines when he responded to an editorial Slim Thug wrote about his opinion on relationships with black women, in Vibe Magazine. Dr. Hill has also been featured on television on a regular basis, where he has discussed a variety of topics, including Hip-Hop culture.He is seeking a trial by jury, suing the Philadelphia Police Department for at least $1 million dollars.
