Drake, Travis Barker Weigh In On Kanye Absence

(AllHipHop News) Canadian rapper Drake discussed his upcoming performance tonight (January 31) during the 52nd annual Grammy awards tonight.

Late last week it was announced that Drake, Eminem, Lil Wayne and Travis Barker would perform their hit single “Forever.”

Controversial rapper Kanye West will not be performing with the trio of rappers tonight, despite having a standout verse on the track.

Reports have surfaced that West’s album 808s & Heartbreak was snubbed by Grammy’s, although his single “Amazing” garnered one, while his collaborations with artists other artists like Drake, Eminem, Keri Hilson and Ne-Yo earned him five nominations.

Drake told The Canadian Press he believed West’s absence was voluntary.

“I know he’s in a great creative space right now and I think that he’s working on his project … it’s going to be incredible, trust me,” Drake told The Canadian Press. “To be performing here this year is like, I had a lot of sleepless nights, man, as a young kid. All this proves they were well worth it. I thought about this, and it came to fruition.”

Drummer Travis Barker told MTV that he didn’t expect West to show up and perform, stating that he heard the Chicago rapper was “in Hawaii” working on album. He recommended West “stay there.”

The 52nd annual Grammy Awards air at 8:00 PM EST on CBS, live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Knockout Nation: Mayweather-Mosley Is On! Haye-Ruiz, Hearns vs. Trinidad Fantasy Clash!

Mayweather-Mosley Agree to Terms, Mosley Signs First

A mixture of an earthquake and blood testing refusal has brought us to one of the biggest fights in recent memory with Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley agreeing to clash in Las Vegas on May 1.

Mayweather advisor Leonard Ellerbe broke the news yesterday to ESPN that the terms were agreed upon and both parties would be signing shortly, with a fight announcement sometime in the upcoming week from New York City.

According to Yahoo! Sports’ Kevin Iole, Mosley flew to Las Vegas yesterday (January 29) and signed his end of the deal.

“Floyd tried to fight the guy everyone thought was the best guy available and we couldn’t get that fight done, so we went to the next guy on the list,” Ellerbe explained in a statement. “As I’ve said many times, when Floyd decided to come back to boxing, he did it to be in major events. He’s going to face all of the top welterweights and one by one, knock them all off.”

In addition, Ellerbe denied the rumors that Mayweather had ever considered fights with Matthew Hatton, Paulie Malignaggi, or Nate Campbell, all smaller fighters competing in the 140 pound division. To their end, only Hatton ever claimed that he was contacted by Team Mayweather.

The full terms of the contract have not been disclosed, but death knell of the Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations, Olympic style random drug testing, was agreed upon by Mosley in the opening talks. Unlike Pacquiao, Mosley has a documented history of steroid usage stemming from two anabolic steroids he admitted taking in preparation for his 2003 rematch with Oscar De La Hoya.

Mosley won the bout, and never failed any drug tests. However, he admitted under oath he took the drugs after being required to give federal testimony in the BALCO labs trial.

It’s not Mayweather-Pacquiao, but this fight is the next biggest event and has the possibility of being an even better fight. Mosley is the naturally bigger/stronger man, harder puncher, and still possesses formidable handspeed. Mayweather is the more accurate puncher and better ring general, being able to adjust ring plans several times during the course of a fight.

When I spoke with Mosley last November, he offered the below reason why he would be the man to give Mayweather his first defeat.

“He knows what the fans and public doesn’t know. I’m the only person that can hit him. We have pretty much that same style except I hit harder,” Mosley told Knockout Nation. “I can hit him, the other guys can’t. When I touch him, just like I did to Margarito, he’s going to sleep. Why fight Sugar Shane when I can fight Pacquiao who can’t hit me? Why fight Sugar Shane when I can fight Marquez, Hatton, or Oscar De La Hoya? It’s unfortunate. It’s his last resort. After I retire and am done with boxing then he’ll fight me. If he fights me, that’ll be his first loss.”

“We both match up in speed. Like I said I have more power than him. I’m more aggressive but I can box, too. I can make him try to come at me as well. I have so many different ways of fighting the guy that makes it so appealing. I’m a complete fighter and he’s knows it.”

On Mayweather’s end, he taunted Mosley last September when I caught up with him right before his bout with Juan Manuel Marquez.

“Shane Mosley! I would say that Shane Mosley represents the 90’s. Now all of sudden after he got 5 or 6 losses now he talking about “yeah, I want to fight Floyd!” Well your career is almost over and now you want to fight me,” Mayweather said. “They all want to talk about Shane’s last fight [with Antonio Margarito], but he beat De La Hoya twice on steroids. So did he win all those championships? Absolutely not, he was on steroids. Now he talks about wanting to fight everyone out there? Shane, your career is over. You’re almost 40! Give it up, Shane!”

“If that was me doing steroids the media would have crucified me. Ah man, they would have thrown me in the fireplace with gasoline draws on. It’s okay when someone else does it, but it’s always taken to the extreme when anything happens with me.”

Mosley definitely represents the fighter with the best chance to bust up and break down Mayweather. Still, I favor Floyd because I feel he can outthink Mosley down the stretch.

Mosley biggest wins have come from simply outfighting or outbrawling his foes with superior strength and speed (De La Hoya, Vargas, Margarito). When that gear doesn’t work and he’s forced to adjust his approach, he becomes hesitant and can be outpointed (Cotto, Forrest, Wright).

Mosley will have to have the best night of his career, and have 3-4 strategies prepared for when Floyd inevitably switches up. With speed and steady but not reckless pressure, Shane will want to drive Mayweather to the ropes where he can work his powerful left hook to the body and overhand right. Floyd has a great check left hook from the ropes (see Hatton), but even a slower Marquez was able to very sparingly catch Mayweather with the right hand off the ropes.

With a granite chin, Mosley will have to come in knowing he’s going to get clipped badly at times, but still be willing to take a counter to a land a stronger shot of his own. Also, his trainer Nazim Richardson would be wise to get Mosley to tighten up his shots. In 2005, Mayweather claimed Mosley would be easy work because for all his speed Shane still looped his punches, making them easy to see and slip.

All in all, expect an intriguing 12 round chess match with Mosley testing Floyd in ways we haven’t seen in years.

Whoever wins stakes their claim as the best welterweight in the world. Let the hype begin.

David Haye-John Ruiz Set for April

Newly crowned WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (23-1, 21 KOs) will make the first defense of his title on April 3 against veteran John Ruiz (44-8-1, 30 Kos).

Ruiz was named the title’s #1 contender following Haye’s 12 round decision win over Nikolai Valuev last November.

Ruiz, known for his mauling style that’s bedeviled many heavyweights over the last decade, is looking to regain his title at 38 years old.

Haye, the former cruiserweight champion and big puncher at that weight, feels Ruiz has the perfect style to show he’s carried his power up to the heavyweight ranks.

“I will not only beat him but beat him spectacularly and knock him out,” Haye said. “I’m looking forward to getting back to what I do best, throwing my trademark ‘Hayemakers.’ Ruiz is a come-forward fighter so I aim to get at him, break him down, and take him out in good style.”

Ruiz knows Haye will be on the move, and plans to corner the outspoken Brit and make it the tiring, clinch-filled fight that he specializes in.

“David Haye is a quick guy and moves to escape a lot of punches. That’s my main focus, to virtually stay on top of him,” Ruiz said from his Las Vegas training camp. “I will bring the fight to him and make him fight my fight. It has to be close and personal. He loves to move. That’s his main weapon. I have to corner him.”

Ruiz’s last fight was a 7th round TKO over Adnan Serin.

The fight will take place from Manchester’s MEN Arena on April 3.

Mythical Matchup of the Week: Tommy Hearns vs. Felix Trinidad

Quick, compile a list of the hardest punchers ever from welterweight through junior middleweight. Odds are Tommy Hearns and Felix Trinidad will be two names very high on that list.

About 20 years apart, both fighters were feared and devastating punchers in those divisions.

It took Trinidad only 3 years following his 1990 debut to pick up the IBF title, with a surgical 2 round beatdown of Maurice Blocker. He strung off 15 title defenses through 1999, winning 13 by knockout. The only 2 who survived were a past prime but cagey Pernell Whitaker, and Oscar De La Hoya.

A stalking puncher, Trinidad regular forced exchanges and discombobulated foes with his heavy left hook.

That power went up to 154 pounds, where he ruined the careers of David Reid and Fernando Vargas in 2000 with career highlight wars that saw both opponents absorb prolonged beatings. Vargas never regained his previous form, and Reid was forced to retire by the following year due to eye problems.

Like Tito, it took Hearns only 3 years to win his first title. He ended Hall Famer Pipino Cuevas’ career as an elite fighter with a crushing 2nd round KO in 1980, picking up the WBA welterweight title.

He made 3 successful defenses before running into another all-time great in Sugar Ray Leonard, losing by TKO14 while ahead on the cards in 1981.

Citing weight issues, he immediately jumped to junior middleweight. Now comfortable, he dominated his bouts there, going 8-0, with 4 KOs. Among his victims were the slick Wilfred Benitez by decision, and possibly the greatest one punch KO of all time over pound for pound legend Roberto Duran.

His run at that weight would propel him to a classic war with Marvin Hagler at middleweight. His skill, frame, and power would allow him to move all the way up to cruiserweight and still win belts well into the 90s.Against Hearns, Trinidad would have a daunting task in front of him. The Puerto Rican legend was prone to having defensive lapses, suffering multiple knockdowns during his 90’s prime. To win, Trinidad would have to swarm and get under Hearns’ 6-inch reach advantage to hopefully land first in exchanges at mid-range and on the inside.

The problem is that Hearns was so skilled that the only fighters who beat him in his best years had to eat huge bombs and punishment to land their own. Leonard got a detached retina for his efforts and was forced into semi-retirement for walking down down the Hitman after being outboxed early. Hagler, all-time great middleweight, was stung early in the first round and had a fight-threatening cut by before bullying his way to victory. Iran Barkley was battered from pillar to post before landing a home run shot.

Could Trinidad endure that type of fire to take out Hearns?

Felix definitely has the power to KO Tommy, but not the skill or durability. Hearns will drill him with hard jabs and straight rights from the outside. Hearns was a good mover, and would constantly have Trinidad changing directions and preventing him from getting set (like De La Hoya did before gassing late in their 1999 superfight). The hard shots would eventually break Tito’s guard and drop him, or he would get caught trying to lunge in with his left.

In his prime, whenever he was dropped Trinidad got up to viciously stop his opponent. And if a foul was needed (ie. a low blow) to regain control, so be it. However, with Hearns after 2-3 knockdowns Felix Trinidad would be in no condition to get up.

My prediction in this exciting mythical shootout is Tommy Hearns by TKO in 6 rounds over a game Felix Trinidad, who gets saved by his corner.

Chuck D Organizes Haiti Relief Effort with New Benefit Album

Public Enemy frontman Chuck D is coming to the aid of the people of Haiti via the power of music and the Internet.

The rapper/activist assembled artists on his SLAMjamz record label for Kombit pou Haiti, a new album featuring material created to help raise money for the ongoing recovery effort in the ravaged country. According to sources, Chuck D got the idea for the album in the hours following the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that destroyed much of Haiti, killing at least 150,000 people to date and injuring almost 200,000 people.

Within 24 hours of being asked, songs were submitted by artists featured on Kombit pou Haiti. The album’s title is loosely translated to mean “coming together for the good of Haiti.”

In addition to Chuck D, those appearing on the nine-song release include MC Hi- Coup, Dominican roots band Pa’lo Monte, Kyle Jason and Public Enemy DJ Johnny Juice Rosado. Costs to master Kombit pou Haiti as well as studio time for the artists were donated by Earle Holder of HDQRTZ as well as the album’s artwork, which was done by graphic artist Kelvin Fonville.

With strides made over the years in technology and communication, Chuck D feels the time is now for people to “come together with extraordinary urgency to address an emergency like this.”

“Since many cannot be there to physically help, the gift of music is something that we realized can give for fundraising efforts,” said the music veteran, who recruited Rosado to assemble artists for and produce Kombit pou Haiti. “There are many organizations reaching out to the call – Wyclef Jean and his Yéle Haiti, in particular, have been working tirelessly for the Haitian people for many years – we hope you support any one of these organizations.  It will take an infrastructure of many to help bring Haiti back up.”

Kombit pou Haiti is currently available on iTunes and Tune Core. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the album will benefit the Lambi Fund of Haiti, an organization dedicated to helping Haitian communities rebuild and recover through building economic community enterprises such as sugar mills, grain mills and small businesses as well as planting crops to sustain local communities.

In addition, the Lambi Fund of Haiti is coordinating second responder efforts that are set to begin once emergency rescue and assistance operations in Haiti have stabilized.

The following is the tracklisting for Kombit pou Haiti:

The Game Answers Tila Tequila Accusation of Child Paternity

The Game has answered allegations made from celebrity Tila Tequila that he is the father of her unborn child.

Yesterday (January 29), Tequila posted dozens of Tweets on her Twitter page (twitter.com/officialTila) detailing the situation. Earlier in the day, both parties were speaking cordially with Tequila announcing she would be going to Game’s  Dr. Dre studio session later that night.

Initially, the reality TV star/model flip-flopped of the rumors of Game’s paternity, denying it herself but posting conflicting information from other sources.

“Why do y’all think that @ihateGame is the father of my child??? I NEVER said anything about him! Why do ya’ll say that??? Lol,” she Tweeted before reposting a Game tweet stating “To My Unborn child (2Pac’s voice).”

The Game himself did a short interview on TMZ clarifying Tequila’s quotes, after additional statements from her detailed she was going to Game’s studio and his promise to take her shopping for baby clothes.

“I was actually in the studio thinking about the song Tupac made about his unborn child. My son’s mother is pregnant, so I’m in that lane,” Game explained. “I guess she took it and ran with it…Recently she was in the studio to mess with my boy Avante Rose. I didn’t see her, I was there with Dre. I wouldn’t use 50’s stick [to sleep with her]…I never seen her. But you know [the wrestler] Hunter Hearst Helmsley also goes by the Game, maybe she’s talking about him”

Following the video clip, Tequila was furious and Twitter-blasted Game as a deadbeat father and liar.

“Game not only lied to the world, to you guys, to me, but he also lied to his other baby mama which I didn’t know he had! So he f##### himself,” she chastised. “I was there all last night too and pictures on TMZ even show me leaving his studio at 6am!!! That’s a punk b#### there. COWARD. GAME=DEADBEAT DAD. Just wait. 9 months from now I’m gonna take the paternity test to PROVE IT. Game just f##### himself. SMH…”

Furthermore, Tequila boasted of making Game “relevant” again, and alleged he was calling her attempting to apologize.

At press time, Tequila is scheduled to appear on TMZ this Monday (February 1) to give her side of the situation.

The Last Word: Milli Vanilli Speaks, Dru Hill’s Reality Show, Winnie Mandela vs. Jennifer Hudson

What’s the deal, Wordians? Sorry for the column being a bit late, but there is no shortage of news to go around this week! President Obama makes job security priority number in 2010 during his first State of the Union address, CBS gets mixed reaction for plans to air an anti-abortion ad during the Super Bowl ad featuring football star Tim Tebow and his mother, Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced the iPad, and Toyota shuts down production and suspends sales of eight of its models after a safety issue caused it to recall millions of vehicles.

Then we had the suspension of NBA players Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton for the rest of the season for bringing guns to the locker room and Elizabeth and John Edwards separating. Overall, it was another week in paradise.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Jasmina Anema, who died Thursday after losing her battle with leukemia. Anema, garnered headlines and support from Rihanna and President Obama during her fight against the disease.  Condolences also go out to family and friends of Chi-Lites singer Robert “Squirrel” Lester, who died last Friday in his hometown of Chicago, and legendary author J.D. Salinger and Zelda Rubinstein (aka Tangina from Steven Spielberg’s horror classic Poltergeist), who both died of natural causes on Wednesday.

Shout out to sounding boards for paying attention to the signs on the road to the riches.

Now let’s take it from the top. Here is … the Last Word for the week ending Jan. 29, 2010.

1.        Dru Hill Returns With Upcoming Album and Reality Show

If you’re a fan of Dru Hill, this will come as welcome news to you. Media sources report the quartet is making a full-fledged return to music as they reunite for a new album. Although Sisqo, Nokio and Jazz are coming back, the group will be without original member Woody Rock, who has moved on devote his time and energy to his gospel ministry.

Filling in for Woody will be the new addition to Dru Hill, who goes by the name of Tao (pronounced Tay-oh). With a newly signed deal with Kedar Entertainment, the collective is moving forward with plans to release their forthcoming album, InDrupendence Day on April 13. The first single from the project will be “Love M.D.”

In addition to new music from the group, solo albums from Sisqo and Nokio’s rock group, Black Angel Down, are also on deck. Dru Hill will also enter the world of reality TV, courtesy of their labelmate Keith Sweat. The group will be a part of Sweat’s reality show called Sweat’s Platinum House. The series will feature interactions with Sisqo, Nokio, Jazz and Tao while chronicling the group’s return to the studio.

2.  Winnie Mandela Not Happy About Jennifer Hudson –Starring Biopic

If having your life story brought to life by an Oscar winning actress without your input makes you angry, then you have something in common with Winnie Mandela.

The former Mrs. Nelson Mandela is broadcasting her displeasure out of being left out of Winnie, an upcoming biopic starring Jennifer Hudson in the title role. In a letter leaked Tuesday (Jan. 26) to South African media. Madikizela-Mandela’s lawyers relayed their client’s feelings as they told filmmakers that she was “extremely concerned” to hear about Winnie, saying, “she has never been approached for consent or at all,” according to The Star newspaper.

“It is difficult to understand how a production bearing the name of an individual who has not been consulted at all could ever be appropriate or tell the full story of that individual’s life as media reports suggest this production is intended to,” Madikizela-Mandela’s attorney Bowman Gilfillan said in the letter. “This is certainly the case here, where our client has not responded to allegations and comment which have been made about her, precisely because she has sought to protect her sphere of personal privacy as best she can in extremely difficult and turbulent times.”

Madikizela-Mandela’s opposition to Winnie is the latest shot of negative publicity directed at the film. After news broke of Hudson playing the activist, South African actors voiced their outrage while complaining that local talent had been overlooked again by Hollywood.

3. Milli Vanilli Movie in the Works; Group Member Reflects on Today’s Lip-Synching

To sorta quote Lauryn Hill, It’s funny how lip-synching changes situations.

It was only 20 years ago when Milli Vanilli was on top of the charts with hits such as “Girl You Know It’s True,” “Baby Don’t Forget My Number,”  “I’m Gonna Miss You” and “Blame It on the Rain.” That and a Grammy win to boot for best new artist made it good to be Fabrice “Fab” Morvan and Rob Pilatus. But we all know how the story ends. Morvan and  Pilatus get caught lip-synching at one of their shows and later give back their Grammy amid the discovery that the vocals on their six times platinum American debut album were done by other singers.

Fast forward to now and lip-synching in shows and videos is the norm, a fact not lost on Morvan,  who believes he and his groupmate were musical “scapegoats.”

“It’s not about being authentic anymore, it’s about entertaining,” Morvan told USA Today, while admitting that “what we were crucified for you see everywhere.”

As for the real deal surrounding the fall of Milli Vanilli, the singer says that a movie he is consulting with will clear up misconceptions involving who did what when. Although he’s saving some of his revelations for the movie, Morvan didn’t hesitate in setting the record straight regarding the Grammy debacle.

“We wanted to give the Grammy back. We felt in our hearts that it would be a good gesture to do that,” the entertainer said. “But they made it look as though (the academy) wanted it back. They could have come to my house and gotten it.”

Despite all the drama, Morvan seems to have made peace. To hear him tell it, “there is no bitterness. It made me a better man. I feel like I have lived the life of 100 men.”

Whether you liked Milli Vanilli or not, Fab does have a point. Funny how things shift. Will the industry ever get to the point where talent and entertainment balance out? And would certain artists be around today if things were how they were back in the day?

What say you?

4. Omarion Acknowledges the Power of Bloggers; Expresses No Love for Perez Hilton

With a career going back to his days in B2K, Omarion is no stranger to fame and the negative and positive chatter it generates. Particularly from Perez Hilton, a guy who rubbed  O the wrong way after discovering what the celebrity blogger really thought of him when he went on the Internet.

“The drama he creates is amazing,” the singer told AllThatsFab.com about Hilton. “I was on twitter the other day and read something he said, it stated ‘does anyone care about Omarion anymore?’ Like he totally doesn’t even know me. I’m a nice guy, I would normally go up and shake his hand. But now when I see the dude I gotta look at him side ways. I just see what the game is turning into. Its inevitable people are gonna talk and say how they feel.”

Despite, Hilton’s opinion, Omarion isn’t fazed as he looks past the blogger and focuses on promoting his latest album Ollusion. Nevertheless, the power of bloggers on the Net can’t be denied as Omarion attests to the influence they have on the music buying public.

“Honestly you really can’t avoid being in the headlines or on blogs. I think its bloggers job to gossip and share their opinions. And usually bloggers have very very strong opinions,” he said. “I really just thinks blogs are apart of the game now. Like bloggers and twitter can really affect album sales now, and that wasn’t the case a few years ago.”

5. Tyrese Gets Set to Play Teddy Pendergrass in Planned Biopic

Although he is no longer with us, the memory of the late, great Teddy Pendergrass remains very much alive for fans and friends. So much so that Tyrese Gibson has vowed to honor his late friend as he prepares to star in an upcoming biopic on Pendergrass.

“I actually started going to Philly [for] like a week at a time because I was doing the research for the life story of Teddy Pendergrass,” Gibson revealed to George Lopez during an appearance on  the actor/comedian’s Lopez Tonight show. “I’ve never sung in a movie so it would be my first time singing in a film. It’s still in motion, but that’s why I was out there. I know I went out there for the movie, but we ended up getting really close and that’s like my step-pops, so it was a big loss.”

Although he has made his mark on the big screen with roles in Baby Boy, Waist Deep and the two Transformers movies, Gibson considers playing Pendergrass  to be “the role of a lifetime for me!”

“He’s one of the original raspy R&B singers out there and he had a real passion for life,” said the entertainer, who served as one of the pallbearers at Pendergrass’ funeral. “I know he’s watching down. Teddy aka Pops, I will honor you and do right by you … R.I.H, ‘Rest in Heaven.”

In Other Words…

Reggae superstars Shaggy and Sean Paul are coming together for a new song to help raise money for earthquake survivors in Haiti. The tune, called “Rise Again,” features the pair as well as Haitian musician Belo and soca singers Alison Hinds of Barbados and Destra Garcia from Trinidad and Tobago.

According to the AP, “Rise  Again,” which was written by Shaggy, is part of a relief fund established by mobile phone company Digicel.

She may be trying to take a break as he is gearing up to promote his next Iron Man movie, but if things go right, Beyonce and Robert Downey Jr. could be sharing time together on the big screen. According to reports, the pair is the favorites to take the lead roles in a new remake of the 1930s classic A Star is Born. Should they snag the parts, Downey and Beyonce would play Normal Maine and Esther Victoria Blodgett, aka Vicki Lester and star alongside Mad Men’s John Hamm, Alicia Keys and Rihanna.

The new remake would be the third version of A Star is Born, which was first released in 1937.

If she ever needed the proper motivation for her role as international jewel thief Doris Payne, Halle Berry now has it. People.com reports  that Payne’s desire to steal has gotten the best of her. According to police, the 79-year-old thief was arrested last week for removing the tags from a $1,300 Burberry trench coat at a Costa Mesa, Calif., Saks Fifth Avenue and walking out without paying.

Payne, who was out on parole at the time of her arrest, is currently in custody without bail for a probation violation.  No stranger to authorities, Payne is noted for making a career out of pilfering diamond rings from jewelry stores from Las Vegas to New York, and Paris to Tokyo.

Berry will play the West Virginia native in the upcoming film, Who is Doris Payne?

Samuel L. brings new meaning to the term Action Jackson. As if playing Nick Fury alongside Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man wasn’t enough, the actor is  lending his likeness to the main character in a new comic book series called Cold Space. According to reports, the sci-fi series will center on an outlaw who crash-lands on a foreign planet and looks for a way to profit off of a civil war between two factions.

In addition to literally getting face time in Cold Space, Jackson will play an active role behind the scenes as he collaborates with the Emmy-winning writer and producer of Afro Samurai Eric Calderon and artist Jeremy Rock.

Criminal Charges Against Kanye, Manager Dropped

Criminal charges against Kanye West and his manager Don Crowley have officially been dropped, after the pair fulfilled their community service obligations.

According to TMZ.com, West and Crowley’s attorneys appeared in a Los Angeles court this morning (January 29) and provided proof that the pair worked 50 hours at the Red Cross and completed an anger management class.

The rapper and his manager’s attorneys struck a deal with a judge to dismiss the charges if they successfully completed the court mandated services.

West and Crowley were hit with criminal charges after they smashed two photographers’ camera equipment during an altercation inside of LAX on September 11, 2008.

They were originally charged with vandalism, battery and grand theft but all charges have officially been dismissed.
