TupacHologram

Hip-Hop Rumors: Did Tupac’s Hologram Cost $10 Million To Create?

CNN is reporting that the Tupac hologram showcased at this year’s Coachella Music Festival cost a whopping $10 Million to create! Check out the full report here … and can someone please tell Soledad O’Brien how to pronounce Tupac!

In related news, Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakir, told TMZ that she was “thrilled” that her son made a digital appearance on the stage last night. While Afeni did not attend to concert, she watched it over the Internet. She also gave Dre approval to go forward with the hologram, prompting the Compton native to make a donation to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, a charity launched in honor of the slain MC.

  • SDS_Overfiend

THEY GON MASTER THIS SHIT SO THEY CAN KILL OFF MORE ARTIST QUICKER….

  • baseforyourfase

do u even read the news?

  • Francisco Ortega

    damn, 10 milli?

  • Just heard on CNN that they are doing a Biggie and 2Pac duet with the holograms, that shit is going to be ill.

  • Damn that’s alot of bread!  Bet it was worth it just to see the crowd go H.A.M. though.  I sure hope they don’t keep trying this with other rappers.  I’m wit NCcats though.  I’ll hologram a mansion wit a bentley parked in the driveway just to make all my old bitches mad!  LOL!

  • Disgraceful, the language added ( Fugg, Nigga, etc ) was deplorable.

Let him rest in peace, & if they gonna disturb him, don’t do it to promote that negative gangster image…….should have repped ” Dear Mama ” with hologram.

    • EL_BARK

      True……

Although i am not a pac fan lol

    •  they doin it 4 de money. They gonna do an Eazy E next i heard smh…

      • adam pitterson

How are they doing it for money?? Are they selling Coachella DVD’s?  They were the go home performance and no one knew what was planned.

      • it was the unvieling of it and they have already said that they are planning on taking the tupac out on tour.

      • How are they NOT making money??? Who’s gonna waste time, and 10 million dollars 2 create something like that, and NOT make profit someway, somehow???

      • insaneangelic

Me and my buddy at work said the same thing N.W.A. bout to go on tour. Plus Bad Boy is gonna be at the next concert.

    • adam pitterson

So true, because Pac never spoke like that and you never hear language like that at a rap concert. SMH

    • how did i know that when i came on here to speak about how disgusting and tasteless this hologram bull ish was that you would be the first person to speak on it.  that ish was deplorable.

  • Soo lemme get this straight….They rather spend 10 million bucks 2 have holographic 2pacs runnin around performing, than solve his murder….Death is profitable I see….

    • adam pitterson

The murder’s been solved dude. Kinda hard to arrest the dead.

      • jhjksdflg

        solved? elaborate…

      • daveofthematthews

Think Adam means Orlando Anderson the guy Pac Suge and numerous others kicked the crap out of the night Pac got shot, Orlando is now dead himself.

      •  Even soo, Death is still profitable…Don’t u agree???

  • No way it cost 10 million. No way Dre paid that.he would have lost hella money

  • D_Ably

Dres lame for this, who says Pac would even wanna be on stage with him? Dres ok playin with a dead mans image but when the mans dyin you don’t see him around

  • Joe

    Worth every penny!!!!!

  • 10 mil? Smh at anybody that believe that.

  • Numbuh Four

Other sites are saying it costs a couple hundred thousand, I don’t know who in their right mind would spend 10 million on something like this. Like the dude below me said, SMH at anyone who thinks Dre would buss down 10 mil on a hologram, the machine to make it probably didn’t even cost that much.

  • immackulate

thought it was supposed to be NATE DOGG but his family/estate prolly put that shyt to an end real quick being that Dre gv 2 shyts about Nate when he was on his death bed …

PAC didnt phuck with Snoop or Dre before he died – flawed IMO

    • insaneangelic

Yeah I thought i missed his performance because they still did other songs that had nate on them but he wasn’t there. So thats probably the case. Tupac’s mom knew the fans had loved him so much.

  • insaneangelic

CNN reported the cost being between 100k and 400k people inflating prices for news.

All ima finish with is Tupac’s performance was 4/16/12.    16+12=28 divide that by 4 and you get 7

    • “16+12=28 divide that by 4 and you get 7”

what the f*ck are you talking about? Are you really getting on some 7 day theory, tupacs still alive bull ish?

      • insaneangelic

Lol Just for kicks because i haven’t seen it no where yet

      •  the government do things in numbers. Read up on Numerology. Noo conspiracies intended!!!

  • KUSHeDTRADAMUS

california love motha fuckin two with out gay ass dre !

  • daveofthematthews

Anybody who thinks that the Tupac hollogram actually cost Coachella or Dre 10 Million is 1, very gullible And 2, A muppet, this is just bad journalism what AHH means to say is more like the technology used to create the Pac image cost 10 mil to develop. And to all the people saying dumb s*** like Pac was enemies with Dre and Snoop he would never work with them is an even bigger Muppet. Pac himself wanted to leave Death Row Just before his death Hence why so many people thought Suge was involved in his murder at the time. And besides there was 2 reasons why Pac signed with Death Row in the first place. (1) because he was desperate to get out of jail and Suge agreed to pay the Bail money of $1.4 Million if he signed a contract and 2, because he thought Dre would be the Executive producer of his Album (Suge had a habit of promising this to people he done the same thing with Nate Dogg, Michelle and others) the only person who hated Dre And Snoop was Suge Knight because they left Death Row and Suge knew it would not survive without them, If you was a real fan of Tupac Amaru Shakur you would already have known that and if you did not you should probably just stay silent until you do some proper research first.

    • You right except, Pac was pissed off at dre for taking long with his beats and shit. He spoke about it.

      • daveofthematthews

Yeah that is true i remember him saying that myself, But that’s just Dre being to much of a perfectionist! plus he was part owner of a label he no longer wanted anything to do with back then i think Pac would have understood that a long time ago, Besides Dre did put him on California Love a song that was supposed to be for Dre and Dre only! I also think Pac simply said things that His boss at the time (Suge) wanted him to say to justify his attack on him, i think the song “Toss it up” was a good example of that.

  • hernandez26

i had read article on the web talking bout dre just handed them a blank check like “whatever it cost just get it done.” i cant wait to see   elvis feat the beatles and tupac & eazy e lol

  • Jason Roberts

Its cost 400k and it was CGI not a Hologram.

  • thuglifefukdapolice

    man i miss him

  • jamaicanbornanbreed

who cares of the real cost or anyone assumtions….i’m glad dat afeni could see her son perform in the physical(somewhat)…the rest of da shit ya’ll argueing bout….is nonsense…..dnt overshadow dat we just saw a great performance from a deceased artist and proably one of the biggest icons in our era…rejoice for da man legacy and family….dnt sully it with ur biases and talk of past thugery….lets jus soke it in and rejoice…i personaly loved the performance…how it seemed like he interacted with snoop…and i love the explosion in pieces ending

  • stupid news, they would not spend 10 million for that shit, they in it to make money not spend it,

  • SunKatt

I never got to see the real thing, so I would definitely pay to see Tupac’s hologram perform a live concert. I did a search on Tupac Shakur on my job’s site, DISHonline, and I found a ton of free videos and interviews with the legend that reminded me of what a talented lyricist he used to be. R.I.P.

  • Big Ice Bastardman ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Instead of Detox, Dre is making headphones and holograms.

    • Tony G.

well he’s not making holograms…but he is making headphones and got assholes paying a grip for them..so why make an album

  • No it did not cost 1million how about 100k… the Visiual Art information was stated by Power 99fm (in PhillY)  They said to make Biggie like that it would cost more like 400k
