Eminem and 50 Cent

Hip-Hop Rumors: Is 50 Cent Pressuring Eminem Into Doing A Collabo Album With Him?

If 50 has his way, he and Eminem will get together for a collaboration EP at some point in the future…whether Em is down with the idea or not, I just can’t tell. Our homie, music journalist Rahman Dukes, sat down with both Hip-hop heavyweights at 50’s video shoot in Detroit for the track “My Life”. The exchange between Em and 50 is pretty interesting. Eminem’s manager, Paul Rosenberg, shouted out “Watch The Throne” from off camera and like a star running back, 50 caught the pass and ran with it.

He said Watch the Throne,” 50 responded to Rosenberg, laughing at the immediate assertion. Eminem, who was caught off guard by the exchange wouldn’t offer up a comment, but 50 didn’t let it go, adding, “An EP maybe.”

Eminem looked like a deer caught in headlights and brushed the question off by responding with, “No pressure, right.”

In the next MTV clip, 50 talks about the huge influence that Eminem has had on his career and even implies that Eminem plays more of a crucial role than Dr. Dre does.

“I can’t accept constructive criticism from someone if I’m not sure what their intentions are,” explained 50 Cent. “But when someone’s been in my corner my entire musical career — I’ll say this, Dre’s done wonderful things for me in my career, but the idea of working with 50 Cent came from Eminem.”

During the interview, Eminem refocused the conversation on 50’s upcoming album, Street King Immortal, and away from a possible “Watch The Throne” type album, revealing that the two of them already have a few joint tracks coming on there.

“We actually got a couple of songs on this album, too. We have another song off of this album,” said Eminem.

Would you be interested in hearing a collaboration album between Eminem and 50 Cent? If it happened, the album would surely be on the same scope as Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch The Throne and with Em’s fanbase, the album might even be bigger. Let’s hope Eminem comes around on this one.

Actually, they’ve never made a good song together…well, “Patiently Waiting” but that’s it.

    • TheInfiniteToker

Yeah, 50 can’t make good songs. Like in that new 50 track “My Life”, Em is what made it good.

      • Totally disagree… Less the more recent nonsense he’s been putting out, the only way you would dislike everything Fiddy put out is if you don’t like his style/flavor of Hip Hop completely, meaning other artists included.

      • Toni

I disagree with that completely, you can dislike all of an artists’ songs and not dislike other artists doing similar things. No song is an exact copy of another (unless it is a cover but even then…) therefore if two people are doing songs in the same style, one song may be significantly better than the other. If 50 keeps losing that comparison then it is possible to dislike everything he does while liking another’s….

    • homiedc

I Agree.. Catman and Robin was’n that good, and the songs on Encore were average.

      • BosstonMA$$

The rest of encore was trash tho

      • josh

yeah and eminem has openly admitted that.

      • VinnyVendetta

I didn’t really like gatman either.. I think Boom Boom Chuck was a better song.

    • AK

the pshyco song off 50s last album was pretty cool

  • water_ur_seeds

they made good songs, ‘spend some time’ one i can think of off the top

  • 8Galaxy5

Never Enough and Psycho are dope.Patiently Waiting of course too

  • josh

Em works better with royce or members of slaughterhouse. people who can jab back and forth with him lyrically. Fif can’t do that

    • Yea u r right, Fifthy Cent is dope mc but he can’t compete with Eminem or lyrically match him like how Royce da 5’9 did with their joint EP “Bad meets Evil.” The last time they did a song together like “Patiently Waiting” I’m sorry Fifthy but Em killed it on that song.

      • josh

Exactly. I’d rather see a more complete album from the two of them then with fifty.

    • VinnyVendetta

50 Isn’t ultra lyrical but his delivery and content is very good and his hooks are the best. But hes not trash like Gucci Mane, or 2Chainz.. he can actually rap and make a good song. I don’t even think Em is that lyrical.. I think people have a bias opinion.

  • Alf Capone

i wouldnt care for a joint em and 50 album……….em is cool but i still feel like hes not as good as he used to be………and 50 fell way off

  • blamfam313

I’m not a fan of 50 but allhiphop hates him at least today yet they show all these pop hoe ass rappers love i’m out ruck this wack site

    • You’ll be back….they always come back!

      LOL-N

  • MadVillain

havnt really listened to Eminem since the Slim Shady days. all his songs/features passed The Eminem Show (Encore had a FEW good tracks) have been garbage. same can be said about 50 really, after The Massacre he lost the hunger and was really just in for the money over quality of music. I guess its the route most popular artists take nowdays… regardless Im Back, Who Knew, Role Model, Square Dance, Monkey See & Shit on You are STILL my favorite Shady tracks to this day. 50 was never on that level, i wont be checking for this joint album.

    • josh

recovery was great. Cold wind blows says it all.

They do good songs together. That track psycho on 50’s last album was fire

  • Pictures blotted out the article, same with Game & 50 Beef!

    C’Mon Son! @ Sydney

  • Doe Boy

i think thay put that out there to see how we(the fans)react…smart move paul

  • VinnyVendetta

Recovery was Trash and IMO. Relapse was Shady;s last great album. Royce out did him on the Bad Meets Evil LP. I’m a 50 fan. No one makes grimmier rap music. People sleep on him, but they listen to 2Chainz… I gon’t get it.
