Hip-Hop Rumors: Malice Halts Clipse Reunion!

Wow. We have seen rappers come and go with their religious views. Most of them dip and dabble, but it seems ilke Malice is the genuine article. He’s basically refusing to do it, even though it almost guarantees him substantial wealth. Not that money is everything. But, this is what Pusha had to say to the BBC (the irony):

“My brother is really on his mission right now. Listen, listen to how real this is. Listen to how real it is though. We had the 10th anniversary of Lord Willin’. 30 dates, needless to say, high dollar. High dollar, already done. Two weeks before it was time to go, my brother was like, ‘Nah, I don’t want to do it. I’m off that, I’m on my mission right now.’ You know, it’s about [his album] Hear Ye Him, it’s abotu where he is spiritually and he was like, ‘Nah, I’m not going to do it. Just go ahead.’ I asked him, now I had to do Coachella, 70,000, right? I’m like, ‘Yo, I’d love to bring you out.’ And he was like, all right, what song do you want to do?’ You know me, I want to do, ‘Keys Open Doors’ — he’s like, ‘Nah, I don’t really, I’m not really feeling that.'”

We haven’t officially heard from No Malice, but even Kanye and Pharrell couldn’t get him out.

“On top of those scenarios I already gave you, you got Pharrell saying, ‘Hey, when y’all ready, let’s go.’ And I think we should just do a two-sided, you know, the tale of two stories. He was like, ‘You do what you do, he do what he do, and that’s what you do.’ Kanye’s like, ‘I want to executive produce this but if you want Pharrell to do the whole thing, that’s fine, if not, I’ll just be here too.’ And he’s like, ‘Not right now.’ [laughs] Mind you, this is the same person I talk to every other morning about my mom, nephews, nieces – you know, hey, where you at? … I don’t think it’s anything holding him back, he just put out Hear Ye Him, a gospel album. I just feel like that’s where he is. My brother, his spirituality right now is next level. … There’s things going on in life that are pushing him in that direction.”

Can’t fault him for this. I do think he could tweak it a bit so that he could get his message to the masses in a tricky way.

    • Corey Corbin

Is that the tip he’s on? I wasn’t sure because if its the creflo thing it’s more on religion and not spiritual. I’m curious on where his views are. If u know shoot me something I can find on him…one

    • cromthelaughinggod7

Haven’t seen you on this site for ever man! I was young vadah back in the day!

    • Celz

Lmao at White Man’s Jesus.. Maybe we should all get off the White Man’s internet and stop doing anything else that the White Man happened to do at one point..

  • Ronald Tregan

It would be kind of weird hearing Malice’s god raps and Pusha T’s coke raps mashed together for an hour imo. I think Clipse is dead but they can both still rap their asses off so keep the solo shit coming.

  • Immortal

Much respect for the man for standing up for his principles. Now I hope this lasts longer than Rev Ma$e’s a$$ did.

  • That’s true to self right there, they could’ve raked in ALOT of money off a Lord Willin reunion tour….but good on that brotha for staying true to self.

  • Eli Pinilla

If you listened to the clipse through the years, then u understand where no malice is at and respect that he doesnt wanna do another clipse album. I wouldnt expect any different from him.

    • Frank

He was always the more conscience one. He’s gotta do what he’s gotta do, but like you said, his verses got something else to them that it don’t matter if he recited his own lyrics for their fans. I doubt anybody would listen, but maybe he can preach a lil something moral about the songs while he’s there. If that’s the path he’s on.

  • Brian Andrew Smith

no shyt, pusha said this the other day oh hhdx

  • I admire “No Malice” plenty for what he is doing. Salute.

  • AlbertoRipRon

Keep doing you No Malice. Commendable effort. Stay on the path…

  • David Gonz

  • digitallife

Hip-hop artists should take note money ain’t everything, at some point the money stops having the same meaning and you have to stand for something.

  • Gotta respect a person that stands up for their beliefs.

    • MildManneredReporter

#salute to Malice 1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. (gotta stay away from negative)

  • Carlos

just wanted to point out that you should call him No Malice as he changed his name and you know this, I think that is disrespectful but with that said, I didnt know he has a gospel album out, and on a funny note, the first albums name was lord willin and had jesus sitting in the back of their car.

  • drac215

Money,Hoes and clothes??? I would prefer to have the word of the Lord Christ Via God, that says “I really love you!!!” Life is real people. This man already chilled wit pharell, jayz, madd chickin headz and he knows the word of God is more valuable than all this worldly stuff!!! Big up bull, God bless in Jesus name. And to those who are caught up on that Blackman stuff believe me, I was just like you at one time until I realized, Jesus is the Son of Man which is all Men God created peace

  • You have to mix it up in order to get the message across, its hard to get to the heads that need the message if all you’re doing is pounding the same preachy stuff over and over again. You have to be human and show your flaws, talk about life that affects us all things like love, and struggle, just life in general – SHAMELESS plug here but I have a album out and it covers a little of everything I even have regular just hard spit joints in there that have no message just straight rap… so I think you need to balance, and NO im not religious, I just believe in a higher power and at times spit with a message but I think he should do the album with his brother and have that two tales of one city type joint that would bang hard and it would reach the heads he initially wants to reach you don’t wanna preach to the choir, you wanna reach those lost in the fire POW LOL.. but word dudes would listen to Pusha side and eventually let curiosity get them and listen to malice and if he got the right message and delivers it with SKILL he might touch some people… by the way my joint available on all digital markets IL4M – INTO THE DEEP. Stay blessed my pplz.
