Tracy Morgan Addresses His Health For The First Time, Sues Wal-Mart

(AllHipHop News) Tracy Morgan is no longer rehabbing injuries sustained by his auto accident with a Wal-Mart truck back in May, but the battle has just begun. Today (July 14th), Tracy Morgan spoke out about his current health for the first time and pursues legal action against Wal-Mart.

Morgan was involved in an auto collision on the New Jersey Turnpike on June 7th when a Wal-Mart truck rammed into a limousine Morgan was in with four others.  According to the New York Daily News, Morgan spoke to reporters outside of his Cresskill, N.J. home yesterday (July 13th) about his health stating “I’m OK. I feel strong.”  Morgan does have a scar across his right temple.

Morgan’s friend 62-year-old comedian James McNair was killed as a result of the accident. 35 year old Kevin Roper, driver of the truck that collided with the limo, was charged with death by auto and assault by auto charges. McNair, who admitted to have been traveling for over 24 hours at the time of the crash, alleges that he did not fall asleep at the wheel. Morgan filed a lawsuit last Thursday in U.S. District Court in New Jersey (July 10th) against the retail giant Wal-Mart claiming criminal negligence:

As a result of Wal-Mart’s gross, reckless, willful, wanton, and intentional conduct, it should be appropriately punished with the imposition of punitive damages.

Wal-Mart representatives have not addressed the impending lawsuit.

He def has a case… but WalMart wont feel the hit from this in the slightest. Im pretty sure The Walton family who own WalMart are worth around 100 BILLION dollars

Uhhh,, NOT possible!! Tracy know’s this is MAJOR.. If anything, this will open up a BIG can of worms regarding driver’s logging erroneous stop/start times just so the Walton clan can get that cheap Chinese shit on the shelves faster!! Wal-Mart will be at his mercy!! Might settle for 50, 100 mil…

This adds a whole new wrinkle, the guy who was killed in Morgan’s van was also driving the truck?!? Or its just more sloppy editing

  2. Reazonero

That’s wassup, he just has to prove that the company was negligent and at fault for the accident. The guy was driving past the recommended hours for truck drivers to be on the road. He also was commuting from his home in Georgia to a truck depot in Delaware. That right there is a crazy commute…….

Wrong….The driver DID NOT admit to driving 24 hours. Does this dude just copy and paste the stuff he reports on or what?

    • John Q. Public

I read somewhere that he admitted to being awake for 24hrs which is against the law for a trucker or something

  4. Chase Pryor

It’s not even worded right, it says “McNair” admitted to having been driving for 24 hours, McNair is the name of the comedian in the car with Tracy who was killed.

On the real though, I think over 14 – 17? hours is illegal for a CDL driver to be driving without a break. WalMart is taking a big L on this one.

I remember when they changed all the trucking rules in like the early 00s or some shyt…they use to pop wake up pills and drive like muddatrukkas…but yea tracy and the mcnair family will get paid

Yeah man, and the included electronic speeding.

They check your log book, then calculate. IE: If you are 550 miles away on a 55mph road & make it in 9hrs….you getting hit.
