Hip-Hop Rumors: Two Of The Best Rappers EVER Are Beefing!!!

Damn. You know old head legends don’t do beef the way the young boys do. Young dudes will hop right on twitter and air their best friend of 6 months! LOL! That’s the funniest stuff ever. And then like a week later, make up. Old school dudes ain’t like that. They beef quietly and, in most instances, for a long TIME. On the other side, some of them come up together and later in life they start beefing. This is what this one is. I apologize for not being able to disclose who they are, but I can pass some hints. These two dudes are two of the best ever. They emerged in the late 80’s and moved into the 90’s. But somewhere in there and I am not sure, friction ensued. Now they have done a couple of shows in the past years (I think exactly two) and there was friction at both. According to my sources, one of them accused the other of being a prima donna and the other seems to have lost respect for their former friend. They still work together in this limited capacity. The weird thing is friends have attempted to get them in a room to talk man to man and they won’t do it. So they continue to make people around them uncomfortable, but stopping short of real beef. There is just awkwardness. At any rate, there is certainly possible that they could get it together but I don’t think so.

Trust the black community to promote and enforce BEEF rather than bringing “The Two Best Rappers” together. i’ve said it and i will say it again. Blogs / Youtube / Twitter will be the death of music. they killed R&B, now they’re on top Hip-Hop. you will never see People or E News promoting beef between two country or rock artists.. smh so tired of the bull.

    • jnc3000

one of the realist statements i have seen up here thank you

      • BlackBarbie2000

        Thank YOU !!!

    • meanygreene

the article says people tried to bring them together that and it didn’t work

      • BlackBarbie2000

so why does he feel the need to make a blog post about it ??? smh. just leave it. beefs are fueled by people outside of it mostly

    • 5% Hov

      “Trust the black community”

this isn’t the “black community”… its one article in the “rumor” section.

      Sorry Tom.

      • BlackBarbie2000

you don’t know me. you are ignorant. if you cannot see the point of my post then you are truly stupid

    • Manuel J Roman

Hip Hop Music is being killed by greedy ass exec’s and corny ass artist…I don’t understand why Hip-Hop doesn’t have different genre concerts like the Metal groups do…signed and unsigned acts perform at the same festival all the time for reasonable prices…Drake performs for $200.00 no band, no nothing not even good sound man FCK THAT

      • BlackBarbie2000

i know ! but people are not realizing it .. it’s happening before their eyes…. you made some great great points

  • Deuce

Gotta be Rakim I heard he was a prima Donna which is why Tech Nina dissed him not sure who the other is but prolly Eric B

  • tr3sdaddy

    Biggie & Tupac….wait, what??

    • dddf

If Biggie and 2pac automatically are the ones that pop in your head when it says 2 of the best then we definitely know which year you were born around and how limited your knowledge about hip-hop is..BRIAN (culture vulture ass). Bet you got into hip-hop after their death/around Eminem popped up huh?

      • 5% Hov

google the word “ironic”…. now apply that to dudes post…

        U see? Sit down.

      • tr3sdaddy

You sir are an E DEE IT

      • Dubz

Pac and Big aint 2 of the best?

      • That’s what I was gon say…fk he tombout…..

  • God Body

Run DMC is the closest I can think of. They came out in the 80’s they don’t perform together anymore other than on a very few occasions. It’s been reported before that they have friction.

      • Markus

        Rapist rapper? No.

      • hoeyuno

Haha..apparently it was a new York legend who was luring his young male fans into limos just to rape them…same shyt, no name just guessing and slandering every early 90s NY MC along with it..

      • Markus

That’s crazy. Never heard that before.

    My first guess was EPMD.

that was my first guess but them dudes been beefing for a long time. It wouldn’t be a surprise or rumor.

  • Eric Collapsar

Big Daddy Kane and Slick Rick

  • Jared

    Big daddy Kane and Rakim

    • Dave Williams

yep that could be the one ( i Remember that Beef)

    • 5% Hov

      it never ended….

      • Jared

A little before I don’t even know how I remember that. Either them or EPMD is all I have

    • Jdilla2982 .

Big Daddy Kane and Rakim did have a low key beef

    • Judah Nazayar

yep.. those 2 are who i thought of of top

  • TheAfroRican

Nah, I’m not going to play the guessing game….

  • Reblogged this on The Monae Group and commented:

  • LoverOfHipHop

Eric B. and Rakim or EPMD. Its funny when Illseed plays these games

  • Eastside

They’re not from the 80’s, but this is about Pete Rock & CL Smooth.

  • KingsCountyCrooklyn

not Eric B & Rakim because it states 2 of the best rappers. not Big Daddy & Rakim because I doubt they have mutual friends that would feel awkward in a room together with them. not Snoop & Dre or Pete & CL Smooth same reason they were 90s artist. the writter puts 2 rappers but may be should of put hip hop group or act. maybe EPMD because they would match the supplied details, but they broke up because of financial issues and the hip hop groups they had under them also went with one of the 2 members after the split.

    • Killuminati

I was just gonna say EPMD too….

    • Ryan Cole

It could be Kane and Rakim, because they threw subliminals at each other from ’88-’90, and Kane said he was cool with Rakim’s brother, who ended up squashing it before it got to the point of beef/battle. Rakim said he had a verse going at Kane on “Let the Rhythm Hit ‘Em”, but changed itonce things got squashed. They’ve done a few shows recently, too.

    • Sean Peterson

kane and rakim, they were supposed to be on the legends tour ,now its only rakim and no kane..

  • TheAkademik

meaningless post…two of the ugliest rappers plan on eating tacos for dinner tonight

  • Maurice L. Moore

2 shows? late 80s? Jay and Snoop?

    • urtelling

Jay and Snoop are from the 90s not 80s.

      • justmathoughts

actually, jay is from the late 80s

  • Willuminati☆Imortali

Its a group……and don’t think to the east coast

  • urtelling

Slick Rick and Dougie Fresh? I recently seen Slick perform songs like “The Show” by himself.

  • Nathaniel Adams

It is Naughty By Nature. Treach and Vinny do not speak within seconds before they perform, but when they get on stage it is magical. I have witnessed it first hand myself. They do not say two words to each, talk greasy about each other, but their crews are cool and I’m sure they feel uncomfortable about it. They are one the best performers in hip-hop period, but friends they are far from being.

    • I think you right this very site reported that sht a while ago.

      • Then again maybe not cuz I don’t think they was on in the 80s

    NWA….RUN D MC?

  • trvlman

That Pac and Jay Z beef been dead wtf!?!?!

    • brotha_man

      u mean pac and nas

      • trvlman

        Naw I meant Jay Z.

  • TruthSerum

I’ve heard through the years that there has been tension between Kool G. Rap & Ice T for years, which is Why Ice left him out of his “Art of Rap” documentary. That’s my best guess.

    • brotha_man

DAMN! never thought of that. that was a pretty cool doc and cool g should have been apart of it

  • chuck

The hint is “get it together.” That’s a BEASTIE BOYS song. It’s the beastie boys.Learn your hip hop!

    • AC

If you knew “your hip hop” you’d know the Beastie Boys started in the early 80″s, not the late 80″s and they continued to work together well past the early 90’s. Nice try hip hop guru!

      • AC

It is Eric B and Rakim

      • chuck

Reading is fundamental. The title of the article is 2 of the best ever RAPPERS are beefing. Does Eric B rap? The Beastie Boys got together in ’81, came out with their first album RAP album in 1985. Therefore they EMERGED in the late 80’s. It doesn’t say they were FORMED in the late 80’s. No one said they didn’t work past the 90’s. Where have you seen them together lately? Also, Eric B and Rakim don’t do shows together AT ALL, they have real beef, so they couldn’t have done “a few in the past few years.” Also, nobody ever said Eric B was the best ever at anything, EVER. Finally, THE HINT IS “GET IT TOGETHER”. That’s a BEASTIE BOYS song. Where’s the Eric b and Rakim hint in that paragraph? Don’t ever swing above your weight class!

      • hoeyuno

If theres any hint its the word “time”…your reachin…q tip was in get it together so does that mean hes beefing with the two remaining beastie boys…the phone is ringin, o my god..

      • chuck

        sooo…what’s your answer?

      • hoeyuno

Scroll down a ish load..illseed said rakim and kane was close….but if you look back up at the article he wrote TIME in caps…could be a typo though..

      • chuck

Oh I didn’t see that! ok then maybe I’m reaching with the beasties. Kane and Kool G Rap maybe? or Kane and KRS.

      • hoeyuno

Yea probably juice crew and somebody or juice crew vs juice crew..????

      • hoeyuno

But eric b is not a rapper like you said so thats not it…and illseeds supposedly a hip hop historian so he wouldn’t just say that..

  • Guest

    MoBB Deep

  • ulostatlife

It’s Tip and Phife from a Tribe called Quest…The get it together reference is there because Tip made a cameo on that song..
