(AllHipHop News) Rap superstar DMX paid it forward when he dropped in a group of homeless people during a surprise visit yesterday (February 8th).
DMX, born Earl Simmons surprised members of the Ready, Willing & Able Philadelphia non-profit advocacy group for homeless people on Wednesday.
According to DMX, he stopped by to celebrating his rebirth, after the Yonkers, New York born rapper was found unconscious in a hotel parking lot, after reportedly suffering from an asthma attack.
Police had to resuscitate DMX outside a Ramada Inn, after he was discovered with no pulse. Authorities administered CPR and provided him with oxygen before the rapper resumed breathing.
“The reason why I reached out today is the one-year anniversary of when I died for four and a half minutes,” DMX said referring to the incident in on February 10, 2016.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the rapper contacted local Councilman, Kenyatta Johnson, who arranged the surprise visit.
The organization gives men housing and full-time jobs, in an attempt to combat homelessness and addiction.
DMX is in town as one of the performers for Meek Mill’s highly anticipated “Meek Mill & Friends” concert, which is taking place tomorrow (February 10th), at the Wells Fargo Center.
