Eminem: Relapse (Review)

"It’s been a long time, I shouldn't have left you, without a strong rhyme to step to." – Rakim

The art of the comeback is a time-honored tradition of Hip-Hop—a rarely perfected rite of passage for artists aspiring to attain immortality. Eminem is fresh off a four-year hiatus, a sabbatical that has included an acute drug addiction and the loss of his best friend and mentor Proof. The Detroit native has seen more highs and lows in the last 15 years than the United States economy, but now he forges his own version of the Hip-Hop comeback with his fifth album Relapse.

The ominous piano on “3am” is the perfect reintroduction to Slim Shady’s twisted world. Five minutes of breathtaking word play and imagery so graphic it would make Stephen King blush should placate any doubts as to whether or not Eminem still ‘has it.’

Through his trademark dark humor, Eminem’s “Insane” depicts stories of a child being sexually abused by his stepfather. And the uncomfortable laughter ensues on “Same Song & Dance” which details the artist’s “kidnapping” and “murder” of Lindsay Lohan and career Shady target, Britney Spears.

The album is not without its faults, however. The Dr. Dre featured “Old Time Sake” is the kind of hokey-chorused dribble we’ve heard from the pair far too many times and “Must Be the Ganja” seems a little tame after 11 tracks of prescription drug musings. Eminem recovers with the self-aware “Déjà vu” and the tear-jerking “Beautiful.” On the latter, Em lets us inside his mind. “I don’t know how or why or when I ended up in this position I’m in I’m starting to feel distant again, so I decided just to pick this pen/ up and try to make an attempt to vent but I just can’t admit or come to grips with the fact that I may be done with rap, I need a new outlet.”

It is moving stuff. And therein lies the problem with Relapse. While it’s a truly enjoyable listen from beginning to end, it’s slightly unbalanced. The exclusion of a couple of Slim Shady’s murderous flow-fests in favor of more heart-wrenching reflective gems could’ve have made Relapse the perfect album Marshall has yet to craft.

The beauty of Relapse is the fusion of Eminem’s styles from his four previous albums. The evolved wordplay and borderline horrorcore imagery of the Slim Shady LP, the pop-star-bashing and pill-popping banter of the Marshall Mathers LP, the soul-bearing honesty and precise flow found on The Eminem Show, and the playful accents Em dabbled in on Encore are all encompassed. With Relapse, Eminem has reminded listeners what captivated them about him 10 years ago and what held their attention for the subsequent six years. The vibe is fresh yet nostalgic—the ideal arrangement for a successful comeback. Em's new album is a potent product, its time we all relapse.

HE GOES FROM HIS MURDEROUS PILL POPPING FLOW TO DEEP GEMS INTO HIS MENTAL BECAUSE IF U LISTEN TO THE ALBUM HE RELAPSES, AND U HEAR HIS MASTERFUL SICK STORY TELLING ABILITY THEN OVER DOESES AND DIES WHICH IS WHERE THE MORE DEEP SONGS COME IN

    THIS SHIT IS A CLASSIC

    DONT GET IT FUCCED UP

not a bad review, I've listened to it twice and I'm content. I'm glad the album wasn't full of "We made you" songs. I'll take a dark eminem album any day of the week. would love to see Redman drop an album on Shady, I know em would do it justice, and Dre would have his hands on it as well. Also, would of been nice to see an upcoming detroit rapper on it, oh well. Relapse 2!!!!!!!!!!!

the only people i can understand liking this record are young cats, maybe 18-22 year olds. anyone around my age (30) who was around listening to shady when he first hit the scene (late 90s) was spoiled by his early work, which was brilliant. i just cant see anyone who was a big eminem fan when the slim shady LP & marshall mathers LP dropped liking this garbage. i refuse to give him a pass just because his past work was legendary.
heres a question... if the marshall mathers LP was being re-released today, with the option of any song from Relapse to be added to it, would a single track from relapse make the cut? absolutely not
    blackout 2 >>>>> relapse

SMH @ all this Redman to Shady records talk. unless Dre does all the beats, i dont see that working out. hell, even Dre's beats have been subpar lately, or average at best. and if eminem produces a redman record, it wont be hot. eminems production skills are very very weak. he can spit, but as far as making beats and arranging songs go, theres no way he could bring out the best in what redman brings to the table.

Ya'll niggas who are hatin' are straight trippin'. Ya'll need to listen to My Darling. Em never has catered to anyone. He has always sounded original and did him. Em has only had a handful of shit where he came serious and murdered niggas. The majority of the time he is just fuckin' wit people and rappin' bout off the wall shit that makes you go "did this nigga really say that shit?" I listened to the album and that shit gets better each time. Not an all time classic, but pretty fuckin' close and its better then anything put out in recent years by anyone else. Nobody is on the dudes level lyrically, creatively, or when it comes to entertainment. The only nigga that can fuck wit Em lyrically is probably Royce. So ya'll sit back and enjoy this muh fucka, because he's only gonna be around for a little bit longer. And stop hatin' on the dude for being fuckin' original. One.

The cd is dope, cop it. And cop "blackout 2" while you're at it, both are a real good look for hip hop.... and "Back on my B.S" is fucking awful, nigga dumbed his shit down  trying to capitalize on the current  sound.  Busta done fell off and is a poor example of a comeback done WRONG

AT FIRST I WAS LIKE MOST OF YALL THINKING THIS SHIT WAS GONNA BE WACK.  FROM THE FUNNY ASS VOICE TO THE SUBJECT MATTER. BUT ON SOME REAL SHIT, THIS ALBUM IS TIGHT AS FUCK AND IT DON'T SOUND LIKE NO OTHER ALBUMS. THE MORE I LISTEN TO IT THE MORE IT GROWS ON ME.

YOU HAVE TO LISTEN(A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T DO NO MORE) TO THE WHOLE ALBUM AND TO HIS LYRICS TO UNDERSTAND THE TRACKS.  AFTER YOU DO THIS YOU WILL FORGET ABOUT THE FUNNY ASS VOICE.

THIS ALBUM IS ACID RAP. YOU MIGHT NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM TOO MUCH IF YOU DON'T FUCK WIT THAT.

You can tell the time that was put in on this album buy the concepts, lyricism and production it's just ill (Medicine Ball track is a classic battle track and the witty lyrics are hillarious and hardcore @ the same time) Doesn't it feel good to hear someone actually having fun on a record instead of always trying to be hard and gangsta????? That's MCing!!! I guess folks have gotten so used to hearing the bullshit that's been and is still being put out they can't recognize a good record when you hear one. I've been listening to it all week and the average rap music listener will just listen to the beats instead of looking  for the substance contained in his raps! Eminem is a lyrical genius and nobody cannot deny that! He also flopped on his last cd like every great one does! still RELAPSE in a definite comeback LP that will put eminem in the forefront of everybody's mind whether you like him or not! There is also the rumored Relapse 2 which is supposed to come out later this year and is rumored to contain appearances by jay-z, nas, and others! I like this album for its witty lyricism as well as the production work of a seasoned andre young! My vote is: 4 outta five mics!

I think its sad that the brother above feels what he listen to has to be "hot" in the streets. Eminem is hip hop in so many ways. If you don't like him then don't comment. Its really that simple. I'm copping both Relapse AND Blackout 2. Who cares if either gets banged on my block? If I like it, I could less what anyone thinks. I agree with the reviewer though, I just wish they included Underground and the bonus cuts. Those were all dope. Out of a 5, I'd give this album a 4. If you respect lyricism, you simply have to love Em. Stop worrying about being all thugged out and gangsta thats an ignorant attitude, just respect good music for what it is. Em is just being himself and having fun with his God given ablitites, he should only sound like himself. Red and Meth get my props also. Whatever cd your feeling, if not both, go out and cop it. Don't hate on other individuals and their tastes though. That's just lame. PEACE.

if marshall mathers lp was a 10/10 & slim shady LP was 9/10 (which is how i would rate them respectively), ur basically saying that relapse is as good as those. if u think relapse is as good as those 2 albums, then im sorry but ur opinion on hip hop no longer matters!
    lets be real...
and the only reason i keep comparing it to blackout 2 is because they are being released concurrent to one another. relapse is getting 10 times the buzz, but after listening to both albums it seems pretty obvious that blackout 2 is a superior album

This album is real nice, it takes awhile to actual listen to it and catch all the sheet hes sayin, so before u review it listen to it for a couple days then give it a rank.
u can listen to this one the whole way through easy
8.5/10 which these days turns it into a 9/10, but in the officail all time logs 8.5/10

Nick cannon just dont, he even tried to make it racial which i hate when people do that with no merit.

Blackout 2 not having as much buzz as Relapse is a LABEL problem. Don't get industry politics confused with the actual artists with material out. Don't chastise the tastes of others because you disagree. Just go out and buy whatever cd you want, and leave others free to do the same. I'm copping both once again. Yroc357. I'm from Brooklyn and I can't identify with some of the things you've posted. What's popping in the streets is an ignorant way to look at things, especially since only niggerish and un applaudable activity goes on in those same streets anyways. Your an Em fan, cool...but earlier you was talking about the streets not playing him...who cares? If thats what you want to hear, then go ahead. Same thing for everyone else. Relapse in my opinion is dope, not better than the Marshall Mathers LP, but certainaly better than Encore which wasn't so bad to begin with. Meth and Red? What can I say? Two legends, who always bring out classic collabs. Blackout wasn't a classic but it wasn't far from being so...Blackout 2 and Relapse in stores! Go cop!

It just amazes me that so many people would comment on an eminem thread. It just tells you how he;s still got a buzz like it or not. As for the album - it needs to grow on you. I remembered listening to Eminem Show and thinking wtf and then i continued listening and then realised that this is one of the top 3 albums of all time.
My theory - the only way to tell if an album is a classic is if you can rap along. Nobody nowadays takes time to learn the lyrics because it's all so garbage. There are very few moden day songs that i can rap along to and that just shows the state of hip hop.
One of my most underrated hip hop albums of all time is Fabolous - Real talk. Punchlines, combined with hot beats, flow is hot and a mixture of street and lady tracks makes it a classic for me. I undertstand why FAB left Atlanta after that - if i put out a hot album like that and it doesn't go platinum then i'll look for greener pastures.

I'm gonna get this album and Blackout 2 though I haven't heard Blackout 2. Relapse is hot, couldn't wait for it so I got the leak.

What's up with this review? They do not mention the songs, Underground, Stay Wide Awake, or Medicine Ball. And Must be the Ganja was weak???

Are you kidding me. Underground was the Slim we all miss and love and it's not even mention, secondly Must be the Ganja, wow what wordplay. Third Stay Wide Awake he spits so fluid and fast and witty it's crazy. Medicine Ball, well that's it's own thing but it is crazy.

Go cop this album it is a classic, his skits even add to the element of it oppose to his most recent albums you feel the mood this is setting. You get into it.

So shut your yap Zack, given the chance I would've wrote a way better review. My god what blasphemy this was.

Same song, must be the ganja, old time sake , should be replaced with the bonus tracks be careful what you wish for and my darling. Song selections is the most important part of putting an album together, it could be the difference between a classic and average album. Just look at Nas and Nastradamus CD, most of the tracks that were on the lost tape CD was meant for the Nastradamus album. Even Jay-z knew that on his second album In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 would of been a classic if he didn't have songs such as (Always Be My) Sunshine and "I Know What Girls Like". If Eminem has any flaws it would be his song selection skills. But this is a Solid album 7 out 10

@drunu2009- The thing is...Eminem is not Rakim or Ice Cube. They have what works for them. The dark humour and jokes make Em what he is. I think people are just mad becaue dude is so lyrical and he's a different skin color than their favorite rappers. It has nothing to do with being stans or anything like that. If he was black his subject matter would be different because thats the kind of artist he is. All you heads that talk about that gangsta shit and then say Em is pop, you all are gassed. A pop artist is a POPULAR artist, which means people love their music so much they go out and buy their records. Jay-Z is a pop artist, Nas had his days as a pop artist, even the Dic err I mean Dipset had their day, so all that pop talk is lame. Maybe your favorite rapper would be pop to if people bought his records instead of downloading them, that just shows the loyal fans Em has. Relapse is a great record...not his best, but certainly not his worst. SMHH. People were complaining about Shady being gone, Shady comes back and they still complaining...people are hard to please it appears.

How has Eminem not had a perfect album crafted to date?

How can you say that this even compares to his first three or four (counting infinite) outings?

    Pathetic.

I listened to the album once. Yes, he can rap, yes he still can craft a good song. But you can't help but listen to it and compare it to Eminem of old. The flow he experimented with on Encore sucked. Everyone agreed that CD was a waste of money when it arrived with the exception of a few songs.

His new album is more of the same with a little bit more venom than Encore which isn't hard...I'd like to think Encore is one of the worst mainstream releases of all time from a talented emcee.

    Wake up.

I dont kno, maybe im too old for that silly slim shady style of rap. I wanted to hear somethin more on the "Eminem Show" level...

I aint sayin none of this to hate, bcuz eminem is the best rapper alive in ma opinion

These dudes from NYC that are hating on Eminem and talkin about New York hip hop are probably the same dudes that didn't like 'Infinite' (Eminem's first CD for those who don't know) because he sounded too much like Nas.  Recognize a real lyricist when you hear one, or go back to bumping some trash rap.

Wackest album from a so-called A-lister in a while. I thought T.I. vs T.I.P was bad. I will bump that any day over Relapse. Em has always been overrated IMO. "Stan" and "Cleaning Out My Closet" are the best he will ever do. Everything else is meant for his "Stans". I honestly can't give this album 5 out of 10 with a straight face.

if you think about it, every single Em album has disappointed in some way or another in terms of what was expected vs what was delivered except for Marshall Mathers LP. I will stick with infinite and slim shady Lp's. seems like relapse is basically using some of the same tricks from those two albums. Marshall Mathers LP was probably his best work in terms of his voice and not being so annoying but it was very "public speaker-like" or "common-esque". probably too much constructive criticism but it was on my mind.

Peep the new song 'Awesome' from Trizzy Valentine & Sean White!

He's witty? SMHH. Someone else compared him to Everlast and what not? THEY CANT HELP THEY GET PLAYS CAUSE OF THEIR SKIN COLOR. BLAME THE SYSTEM, not these artists. White people tend to actually buy cds more than black people, that's fact. lol. That's not even debatable. So the people paying for the product have more of a say of what they want on the radio. It's a money machine. You have to put in input to get output. Relapse is a dope album to ME. If you feel otherwise, thats cool. Just state that and keep it moving. Don't bring up all the industry politics and what not...who cares? Em is white, no doubt if he was black he wouldn't get as much hype. But you know what? Alot of people feel he's Top 5 DOA, including some of yall favorite rappers.  And don't talk shit to me, then back off the other cat cause he wants to get live. If you don't do internet beefs, you wouldn't be inviting people to come see you either. Keep it 100%. Masta Ace is dope, I love dude's music. A Tribe Called Quest, my favorite group. It has nothing to do with people not knowing history, it has to do with people's taste. Good music is good music, no matter what genre, no matter what artist. I'm feeling Relapse. Blackout 2, also. They both dope albums. Don't try and chastise people for their opinions and then when someone calls you out, you pull the internet beef card and then back from it. You talking to a cat that listens to Common, Tribe, Redman, KRS-One, Diamond D, Black Moon, Biz Markie, I can go on...

I don't understand some so called hiphop fans.  Eminem is a legend.  He's rapped circles around anyone else in the industry, including Jay on Renegade, and Biggie on Dead Wrong (before you jump at me, Jay-Z is the man and I'm not knocking him in any way shape or form, the same goes for Biggie. Both are top 5 DOA).  Whether it speaks to you or not is irrelevant, you gotta give props where they're due.  Dude is sick, like it or not.  Of course it's not hood music, he's not gangsta, he didn't sell drugs.  I suppose you'd be hating on him for rapping about selling drugs for not being real. If anything, he doesn't get enough credit for his talent because people think he's "too pop." He's not all Real Slim Shady and We Made You.

Before any of you hate on his fans for being "Stans," why don't you pop in the Marshall Mathers LP and be honest with yourself...has your favorite rapper ever ripped a verse like Em did for that whole cd...the list would be very short.

Eminem's album for the most part is dark. Sometimes depressing. But alot of times when people are going through it they like tohear that they ain't alone in life when it comes to struggles. And there is an inspiring story here. Em beating his addiction for over a year in order to produce an album and even more so to live a happy life. Continued success in your sobriety. I can relate and felt him being able to make fun of it at times, and yet really discuss it in a heartfelt way is how many struggling addicts and recovering addicts feel. You laugh at it because sometimes its funny but mostly to avoid crying about it.

I'd give it about a 7/10 actually. And what's with everyone saying the album is "dark"?? SLim Shady LP and Marshall Mathers LP were DARK. Dark, violent, sarcastic and twisted. He SOUNDED threatening on his earlier work, ESPECIALLY the MMLP. This album is twisted, but it sounds so forced, and mixed with the different flows and voices/vocal inflections or whatever, you can tell he's messing around. He's just being straight up silly. The subject matter is dark, I guess, but a better words to me are just messed up and crazy lol. The way he goes about it is so corny. I respect good flow, rhythm and lyricism, so I have to give props for that, but including all the celebrity knocks (which is tired and immature to me by now) and the weird-voice stuff lol,  this album loses points. Some of the production is real good, and Eminem is still a real talented cat, but I've just heard much better from him. This is on Encore's level I think, maybe better. Encore was more uneven and spotty, while this album is at least more cohesive, and you can "see" the concept of this album. WHY couldn't we hear more stuff like "Careful What You Wish For"???

I might cop it eventually, but I'm in no rush. I hope Relapse 2 is better. I wonder how Busta and Red&Meth's albums are...

Im saying it becuz Hip Hop music is 3 elements:  Beats, Rhymes & Life  (peace to Tribe) & Relapse got 'em all covered

*Dr. Dre produced the entire cd, so the beats are covered

*anybody saying the White Boy can't rhyme is hating.... period.  Whether or not you dig his sh*t is subjective

*His lyrical content is still the same sh*t he was kicking on Saturdays @ The Hip Hop Shop in the back of Maurice Malone's spot on 7 Mile back in the day.... even the outlandish sh*t.  Wasn't trying to fit in or "act Black".... he just stood out becuz he was White.  (Life)

So because he lived in the same building as a guy who produced an album and was in the Ultramagnetic MC's that makes him more hip hop than the rest of us. Coughdrop---you are the man, we all wish we had Ced Gee (how he spells his name, figured a friend would know that but we don't read your comments for the proper grammar) to tell us what is real hip hop and what is not.

Buddy, who the fuck are you?!?!?  You must be part of Eminem's street team or something, cause you got the most posts on here.  Everytime there's a post on Eminem, I see your wack ass avatar.  You ride for Eminem like you ride his dick or something.  Real talk.

Then you got a response for everything.  "I'm from the south mang...I got kinfolk in the Bronx, b...I'm in the west all the time, homie.  Eminem get bumped in the hood all the time, whoddie!"  Just shut the fuck up cause you sound real fuckin stupid!   Then you quick to call somebody a racist...you need to check ya' favorite rapper's resume cause Eminem had a few RACIST tracks from what I remember.  But you don't remember that right?  Fuck outta here with Looney Tune shit.  Talking about we got a black president.  Yeah no shit, sherlock...we've had one since January dumbass.

Now for an honest review about Relapse....

The album is subpar.  The bonus tracks are decent, and I'm hoping that's what Relapse 2 will sound like.   Eminem is a great lyricist...BUT RELAPSE FAILS!!!!  Get over it.  Same ol' formulaic what's to be expected shit from Eminem.  Ya'll Stans are just remembering what you think USED TO BE, but what you're discovering is what USED TO BE NEVER WAS.  Eminem has never been the best, nor will he ever be the best.   Shit like making light of child molestation (when there are kids out there really going through that) and being obsessed over pop chicks is not the stuff greats are made of.  Entertainment or not.

I do not like this CD. A couple tracks were ok, but other than that it was very corny and the subject matter I could pretty much careless about. He does not get a pass from me for dropping a subpar CD. I'm a fan and have been one since the late 90's but seriously I'm a little older I'm sicking of hearing wisecracks, and ridiculous lyrics that just simply don't come off as fun as it did 7, 8, 9 years ago when he was to me at his best. That's just me.

Honestly though I've been wondering this. What lane is Eminem in? Truth be told lyrics don't sell records if it did then then Kweli, Joe Budden, Styles P and a host of other rappers would be right behind him if not selling more records. With that being said how the hell does he stay on top, it can't be radio friendly tracks, or club tracks, cause he doesn't really do shit for the radio but it gets played anyway even though it isn't a radio type of a song. This new shit crack the bottle and who made you is horse shit and if I heard it on the radio I would change the station.  So why does he always get this pass even though most of the tracks he does goes against what's normal for an artist to make hits and sell records.

This shit still has me confused. I know he can rap and so can many others, Eminems music is dark, rude, and sometimes corny as hell, so how does he stay on the level he is own. Can you people here at AHH understand where I'm coming from. I'm trying to explain this shit without a voice and words sometimes don't do justice what a person is trying to say but for real I just don't get all the hype at least not all of it. Yes he has lyrics and yes he can spit but, other rappers of his stature usually drop singles that the hood and the suburbs and the clubs rock. Eminem doesn't fit that category. So where does he get all these fans from. I already know the answer to all this shit I said, I'm just painting a different picture for you to think about.

This shit fits right there with Commons last CD. I love the artist, but this and Common's last joint was hard to listen too. I like change, I want rappers to evolve and step outside a little bit, but I can't cosign the change if it don't sound good to me. I'm glad you love it though. I just can't agree with you.

Even with black rappers most people who buy these albums are white males anyway do the statistics on that shit if you think I'm lying.  Of course they are gonna give him love. With all that hype of course they are going to anoint his ass. That don't give him no pass from me though. Early on his shit was fresh air and something new. What you're missing is, this album is a re-introduction to the world from one of the most contraversial rap artists ever!!!!!!  He wanted to show people the crazy Em that made everyone talk in the first place!!!!!  He took a 4 year hiatus, he had to show people why he is who he is!!!!

I guarantee you Relapse 2 is gonna be on some hip-hop shit, he just had to let this shit out of his system first!!!!!  His lyrical ability on this album is tremendous, probably the best wordplay I've ever heard on a whole album!!!!

Besides, it's only a form of entertainment, similar to the movie industry!!  So for him to depict stories of rape and drug-abuse is no worse than watching a movie like "kids", or any other movie that depicts those things!!!!!  So why aren't you mad at the screenwriters responsible for that shit?????????//

@ dubem and @ icon77  Reintroduction, or entertainment this album was plainly below average. You can sugarcoat or window dress it how you want. I just can do without the bullshit topics that's all. Terminator 2 was entertainment. The Super Bowl was entertainment. This years NBA playoffs have been entertainment. Eminem's Relapse was nowhere near that shit. Sorry but I must differ. Maybe his new album will be on something else. But what if it ain't. Eminem is who he is he aint about to all of a sudden make feel good tracks or club bangers or switch up his subject matter. Dark music gets tiring fellas. He's losing votes in the hood fellas I'm sorry. His ghetto pass is in jeopardy of being revoked. I'll bet most of don't wanna hear that shit no more but for some reason are too afraid to say it. And why I have no clue. He started losing me during the third CD. From that point on his shit has been redundant and boring. His 1st two cds were the shit since then its been downhill. I could talk about this forever but I wont bottom line I'm done buying shady cd's until I hear something better. That's my take.

Andre 3000 and Em are the best hands down. Bought Relapse and I read the words while I'm listening to it. You get more out of what Eminem is saying especially when he twists words to make them rhyme. But on some real shit Em needs to apologize for the "Hanna Montanna lines, because if it was Hailey he would go nuts like he did with Ja' Rule. I feel Nick Cannon because you shouldn't say anything about a man's wife. But I'm tired of every time a rapper or comedian gets into a situation with Em or team up with someone else to start beef they always say " we let this white boy slide for too long, we need to revoke his ghetto pass, yada, yada, yada he called our women bitches". I'm like this, he is man enough to face people on his own, so be man enough to face him on your own. Matter of fact thats with everybody. Also, white men call women bitches, black men call women bitches. Every woman a white man calls a bitch or a hoe is not going to be white. Same thing for the black man. heres a question... if the marshall mathers LP was being re-released today, with the option of any song from Relapse to be added to it, would a single track from relapse make the cut? absolutely not"
    blackout 2 >>>>> relapse

    --------------------------------------------------

@ Yroc357 , man I completely agree, Blackout! 2 is many times better than Relapse, if Relapse got an 8/10 then Blackout! 2 is a 10+.  If relapse were a 10/10, then hip hop if officially proven dead... it aint about the numbers people, you could move 10 million plus albums but that doesn't mean your album is good, it just proves your commercially succesful. Eminem outsold any album of Rakim but Rakim is without doubt the better eMCee.

I listened to almost every song on Relapse and thought it was complete shit, "We Made You", "Bagpipes from Baghdad", "My Mom", "Must Be The Ganja" and more were all wack... The only track that I found worth listening to was "Beautiful" apart from that it's a no go for me and for me it wouldn't even get a 5/10. I decided not to buy Relapse but Blackout! 2 instead despite that I havent heard a single track from it when I bought it but it was definately worth it. It bangs harder in every way...

Relapse sounded immature, his flow was a joke on most songs, almost like he was mocking hip hop by proving that he can outsell any other artist wven when dropping wack shit solely for the reason because he has a loyal dickrider fan base who don't dare to critisize him when he's wack... if his flow wasn't immature then it was his content (with the exception of "Beautiful")

Calling Relapse garbage or wack is a compliment, Eminem's older shit is way better. Perhaps Eminem should retire and maintain his legacy because his recent shit is wack as hell...

Does he have anything else to rap about besides wisecracks, other people,  drugs and shit like that. You not hearing shit I'm saying are you Icon77. His subject matter is not something you can rap about for 4 and 5 albums. That shit is tiring dude. That shit don't sound good no more man. Can you see that. I'm trying to dumb it down to you as much as possible cause you aren't hearing me. His subject matter cannot be the same not when he talks about the shit he talks about. It is fucking boring now. He was never and never will be my favorite rapper. I could are less who another rapper likes or what he sales. Dude is a rapping Elvis he gonna fucking sale regardless because he's white.
