Kanye West Talks About His Ego And Calls Himself An Activist

KANYE WEST SAYS SOMETIMES HIS ACTIVIST LIKE WAYS MAKE HIM LOOK LIKE A BAD CELEBRITY

Kanye West is more self-reflective than he has ever been. he’s able to look back at his less than classy moments and use them as learning experiences and even befriend the people that he has embarrassed during his tongue lashings (except George Bush).

He chucks these moments up to his ego and in a recent interview he compared it to a new piece of furniture in his house that he wanted to get rid of but couldn’t.

“I have this table in my new house,” West told the New York Times. “They put this table in without asking. It was some weird nouveau riche marble table, and I hated it. But it was literally so heavy that it took a crane to move it. We would try to set up different things around it, but it never really worked.” He continued, “I realized that table was my ego. No matter what you put around it, under it, no matter who photographed it, the douchebaggery would always come through.”

The “douchebaggery” almost took over again at this year’s Grammy ceremony when Beck beat Beyonce in the Album of the Year category. West it’s difficult to watch unfair things happen and not be compelled to do something about it.

“I’m not a celebrity, I’m an activist,” he said. “The fact that when I see truth it’s really hard for me to sit back and just allow it to happen in front of me on my clock makes me, a lot of times, a bad celebrity.”

Yeezus also revealed that he speaks to his anger management therapist “all the time,” a requirement of his paparazzi run-ins that resulted in a civil lawsuit that he recently settled.
