Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Will Smith The Next Barack Obama?

Jay-Z isn’t the only rapper that has President Obama on speed dial. According to T.I., rapper turned Hollywood heavy weight, Will Smith also has Obama on the text.

In a brand new interview with Billboard magazine, T.I. revealed that Will Smith called the Attorney General on his behalf and even went straight to the top and called President Obama to try to help him get out of jail when he violated his probation last year. Check out what he told Billboard below:

“Will [Smith] actually went as far as getting in touch with [attorney general] Eric Holder and the Obama administration trying to see if we could get some kind of release. He was very politely told that was not possible [laughs].

“He [Will Smith] was in deep discussions about it. And he’s been a huge contributor to the administration, and I mean not just in finances, I’m talking about time and other kinds of efforts, so it ain’t like his words were falling on deaf ears.”

So all of this got me thinking. Is Will Smith the next Barack Obama? Will told the BBC a few months back that he and the President actually talked about Will playing him in a movie.

“We talked about it a few months ago. I told him, joking … you just have to write the ending. So, he’s working on the ending right now.”

Okay, we all know that Will Smith would be an awesome choice to play the President in a movie – even Michelle Obama thinks so. But when I ask, “Is Will Smith the next Barack Obama?”, I’m not talking about playing the President in a movie, I’m talking about becoming the actual President of the United States one day. Heck, we’ve had actors become President before…remember Ronald Reagan?


If Will and Jada can keep it together and if Will can shake that nasty Scientology cult, I can totally see Will Smith running for President in let’s says 2020 or 2024. What do you think? Am I buggin’, or is this actually plausible? Oh yeah, and Will needs to keep his son Jaden away from the Kardashians!

Back to T.I. – hopefully he can keep his butt out of jail and get back to greatness. His new album, Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head will hit stores on December 18, and T.I. revealed that he has recorded over 100 songs for the album. Damn, I just hope it’s better than “No Mercy.”

Will Smith Sought Out Eric Holder & Obama Administration To Help Rapper T.I. Out Of His Legal Troubles

(AllHipHop News) Atlanta Hip-Hop star T.I. graces the cover of this month Billboard magazine, where he gives a very interesting interview about his career, in addition to his legal issues over the years.

During the interview, T.I. opened up about his arrest for weapons possession in October of 2007, just prior to a performance at the BET Awards.

T.I. was caught in an undercover sting, buying automatic machine guns and silencers.

When police raided his house they also uncovered more guns, as well as a pound of marijuana.

During the interview, T.I. said numerous artists has supported him over the years, from Eminem to Will Smith, who flexed his political clout in a bid to get his fellow rapper out of his legal quandary.

“Of course, Em. He was extremely supportive and inspirational during that time,” T.I. told Billboard. “Busta Rhymes, Puffy, Lyor Cohen, Russell Simmons, Nelly, David Banner, Charlie Mack, Will Smith. Will actually went as far as getting in touch with [attorney general] Eric Holder and the Obama
administration trying to see if we could get some kind of release. He was very politely told that was not possible.”

T.I. has a longstanding business relationship with Will Smith, who’s Overbrook Entertainment executive produced the hit movie “ATL,” which starred T.I.

Legal issues aside, T.I. is preparing to release his new album Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head

Today (November 27), T.I. released a new track from the album titled “Sorry” featuring Andre 3000.

Kim Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, is said to already be salivating over the possibility of setting up her young daughter, Kendall Jenner, with the son of Hollywood royalty. Kris has reportedly gone out of her way to try to set up her daughter with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s son, Jaden Smith.

 

 

Although Jaden Smith is only 14 years old and Kendall Jenner is 17 years old, Kris Jenner has reportedly been trying to convince her daughter to date the younger Smith to further skyrocket her into fame and fortune. Not only is Jaden the son of Will Smith, he is already a star in his own right, having starred in the blockbuster hit, The Karate Kid, and performing as a rapper alongside Justin Bieber.

Kendall is a rising star and has taken to modeling. She is currently on the cover of Miss Vogue and booking modeling gigs left and right.

The two young adults got to know each other better at Kendall’s birthday party, where they held hands as they ice skated in the backyard of the Kardashian/Jenner home earlier this month. According to the National Enquirer, “Jaden is HOPELESSLY INFATUATED with Kendall, despite their age difference and the fact that she towers over him,” disclosed an insider. “What Jaden lacks in height and age, he makes up for in confidence.

Although Kris Jenner is trying to get her daughter to see the millions of dollars she can earn from dating Jaden, an inside source is revealing that “Kendall isn’t interested. Although she thinks Jaden is adorable and a cool friend, that’s where it ends. She wouldn’t date him in a million years.”

While Will and Jada have been very liberal with the way they are raising their kids and encourage them to make their own decisions, they are rumored to be dead set against the union. “They don’t want him tangled up with the scandal-plagued Kardashians” revealed a source.

Preliminary Hearing For Young Calicoe Over Felony Dog Fighting Charges Today

(AllHipHop News) Detroit rapper Young Calicoe is slated to make his first court appearance today (November 27), over animal fighting and gambling charges.

The rapper, born Toranio Hightower, is charged with conspiracy to gamble, animal fighting and conspiracy to commit animal fighting.

The charges came after a video surfaced on the Internet, that featured a cockfighting operation in a Detroit home.

After Detroit authorities got wind of the animal fighting ring/gambling operation, they raided a home and found eight dogs, three roosters and three hens.

Although Young Calicoe has been quiet since the Detroit Police Department began their investigation, a defense attorney in the case believes that the video in question was simply a harmless skit.

“Tells others to look at rap videos and see who you can convict, based just on what you see,” attorney Daryl Eason told MLive.com.

“You saw a happy, healthy pit bulls in the video,” said Eason, who represents two other defendants in the case.

If convicted on all charges, Young Calicoe faces 13 years in prison.
