Football Player/Rapper/Wrestler Pacman Jones Giving Away 1500 Tickets To TNA

Football player-turned-rapper-turned professional wrestler Adam “Pac Man” Jones has bought 1,500 tickets to the TNA Tag Team Championship for Atlanta area high school students who are earning good grades.Jones, who grew up in the famed College Park section of Atlanta, will defend his Tag Team Championship belt with partner Ron “The Truth” Killings. The pair won the belt from wrestling legends “The Icon” Sting and Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle upon Jones’ arrival in TNA in July.”I grew up a huge wrestling fan, and the chance for me to have seen my favorite wrestler Sting when I was a kid would have been a big motivator for me,” said Jones. “I know what it’s like to need someone to believe in you. Giving a kid a ticket to a wrestling show like this is a small way for these schools and teachers to say, ‘Hey, here is a reward for all the things you are doing right, now keep it up.'”Jones purchased 1,500 tickets to give to students in the Fulton County School District to attend “Bound For Glory” at the Gwinnett Center Arena in Duluth. The tickets will be distributed at the discretion of school administrators for academic achievements, grades and punctuality.Jones attended Westlake High School and set a number of records and helped the school win two state titles. Hip-Hop Rumors: Rumors on Lil Wayne’s Baby Moms…And Amil.

RAY-J’S NEW NAME!

I want to thank everybody that offered their suggestions on the rename / nickname Ray-J contest. I got all sorts of funny ones, but I settled on the one that I felt would work for us all.

I want to congratulate Cedric Jones for giving US the new name for Ray-J (DRUM ROLL PLEASE…)

SUPERFACE!!!

The runner-up was Q-Zoo, who suggested “Super Tongue.” For some reason, Superface just sounded better…more appropriate.

Here are just a sample of the other names that were suggested:

Super F*g

Super Desperate

Brandy’s Box Eating Brother

Head Monster

Brandy’s brother

Rico Suave

Man-W####**Note: Those were reader submissions. Not meeeeeeeeee!

HERE IS THE RUMOR I HEARD ABOUT WAYNE’S BAY BAY MOMS…

You heard from Lil’ Wayne’s baby’s moms Toya and now, here is the rumor I got.

Now, there are two sides to every story and I have the other side to the Lil’ Wayne / Yoya stuff. At one point, Lil’ Wayne rapped about how Toya cheated on him. Well the story goes like this: He and Toya went to Marion Abramson High School together and hooked up and they had a baby along the line. With Wayne already being a famous rapper and being on the road so much, temptation set in and Toya allegedly cheated on him. From what I heard, all of New Orleans knew about this infidelity. Wayne found out about the dastardly, devastating deed. Then he started dissing her in all his songs and mixtapes. While engaged to Nivea, Wayne and Toya allegedly reconnected and hooked back up. I heard they tied the knot on August 8, 2004 at the Champagne Palace. I heard the wedding was nice and hood, meaning he had it in a nice place with hood individuals.

G-UNIT HATES OLIVIA?

You know, I thought when 50 Cent dropped Olivia it was mostly a business decision, right? You know, she had several videos and song and just never picked up. Well, I have never been in the G-Unit offices or anything, but I heard there is a diss in there. Allegedly, there is a group picture of them in there – with the whole crew – and Olivia is defaced. Somebody took a pen or something and put the hangman noose drawn over her. This seems like Amil part 2!

SPEAKING OF AMIL

I never thought Amil was wack, but she still got dropped. Not too long ago, she was rumored to be working in retail and I guess I did something on it. Well, to make amends for that rumor, I will now publish her reply, even if it is made late.

To clear up the rumor of the week posted by ALLHIPHOP.com that many people are asking. Does Amil work at MACY”S in New York City? The answer is NO..She does not. Amil has not even been to NYC in over three years. We do not understand why these rumors about where she works are always around. At first it was Amil working the registers at K-Mart, well atleast they stepped it up to Macy’s LOL…Another person had said she worked at Walmart?….There is another one about her being a stripper…. Also false my friendzz…. And so what if she was working those jobs? She would be getting paid right? If that is what she had to do to feed her kidsz then so be it!……Some people need to step their game up with the factzz… ..AND WITH ALL HONESTY AMIL COULD CARE LESS ABOUT RUMORS BECAUSE THEY ARE NEVER TRUE ANYWAY!

Well, never? Sometimes they are true.

THE NEXT WAVE – BOBBY BROWN JR and AL. B SURE JR.

Rumor has is, Al B. Sure’s son and Bobby Brown’s son are really tight. Well, they are so cool that I heard they have formed a new singing group. I don’t know the name of the group, but I heard they are performing heavy in New York City, in particularly the Mount Vernon. I don’t know if this is the same son that Al has with Kim Porter, but I heard he can sing a lil’ better than his daddy.

MEN : DO NOT TRY TO HUMP DANNY BONADUCE

Check this video out! You know Danny Bonaduce is crazy, deranged, right? So don’t try to hump him if you are a man. At the Reality TV Awards, this dude named Jonny Fairplay tried to be funny and d####### Danny for laughs. He was getting booed and was desperate. Well, Danny picks the dude up and tosses him – on his face! Jonny lost mad front teeth and even broke a toe. The aftermath…Dude should have known better and now the coppers are looking to charge Danny for battery. Here is a lil’ bit more…

TOMORROW, WE LOVE YOU!

C-Bo Fans Play A&R for New Greatest Hits Album

G-Unit South rapper C-Bo’s forthcoming greatest hits album will truly reflect the taste of rap fans, as supporters of the West Coast Mafia Records CEO assumed the role of A&R for the release. Songs for the album, titled West Coast Classics, were selected by fans through web polls on C-Bo’s and West Coast Mafia’s Myspace pages. “I wanted the fans to feel a part of something again, so I decided to let them pick the track listing for the album.” C-Bo said. West Coast Classics features various songs that span C-Bo’s more than 12-year music career such as “Gas Chamber”, “Autopsy” and “Birds in the Kitchen.” Since emerging on the rap scene, the rapper has sold over a combined 3.5 million records. In addition to popular material, West Coast Classics will include several new freestyles and tracks from the C-Bo’s latest compilation, West Side Ryders III – The Southeast Connection, which is currently available in stores. Prosecutors Drop Weapons/Drug Charges Against Jadakiss

Prosecutors are dropping drug and gun charges against Lox group member Jadakiss, who was arrested last October when police found a loaded handgun in a car he was traveling in.

The rapper was arrested in his hometown of Yonkers, New York on October 6, 2006, when police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.

Police claimed they smelled marijuana emanating from the car and when they searched the vehicle, uncovered a loaded handgun.

Jadakiss and three other occupants were charged with criminal possession of a weapon, because of the loaded handgun inside the vehicle.

Jadakiss pleaded not guilty to the charges days after being arrested and his lawyer vehemently denied the charges, stating “I have yet to see or hear of any evidence connecting my client to possessing this weapon.”

Last week, the Westchester County’s district attorney asked a judge to dismiss the charges, after a jury acquitted one of the men in the car when DNA tests failed to link any of the three men to the gun.

According to reports, the dismissal is final when the prosecutor’s motion is granted by the judge.

“[It’s] a travesty that the case went this far,” Jadakiss’ lawyer Clement Patti said.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Kay vs Dre! Lil Wayne’s Baby Mom! Jay-Z’s Still Recording! Nick Cannon Not Engaged!

NICK CANNON NOT GETTING MARRIED!Dayum, Nick! I should have known when I saw the images of Nick with some chick in a room. Well, Nick and his former fiancée, Selita Ebanks, are now not getting married. Not only that, they have split up and decided to focus on their own careers. I wonder what really happened? People magazine reports, that Melissa Raubvogel – her representative – delivered the news. “Selita and Nick are taking a break to focus on their careers but still very much love each other and remain the best of friends,” said Raubvogel. They got engaged about five months ago in a big “tadoo” in Times Square. Oh well, easy come…easy GO. KAY SLAY VS DRE DRE????

First things first – huge shout out to CHRIS MILAN and FOUNDATIONMAG.COM!

Chris passed this info to AllHipHop.com on his exclusive conversation with Kay Slay. Here are some humdingers in the interview.

“We raped Jive…” Slay says. I guess they did take that $1.5 million home. Can I get a loan?

“I’m just trying not to s**t on nobody. But A& R’s have to let the artists be themselves. Chris Lighty was Pap’s A&R. When Chris left Jive, it had me scratching my head to see who was [going to be] appointed to us. Then they gave us Lionel Ritchie’s A&R. Dude must have been 60. I told Pap right then, ‘Your album is not coming out on this label.’ I knew it. Stevie Wonder could see what the f**k was going on [Laughs]. Him and Ray Charles could see what the f**k was going on. To see this dude walk in the f**kin studio, I was like, ‘Are you serious? A sixty-year-old Caucasian A&R?’”

On the Dr. Dre issue, he said that there is another song with Papoose and the good Doc in the vault… Dre just won’t give it up. One of the songs has already been released to the streets. I wonder why they can’t get the other one?

Kay Slay said, “No. There were no samples in it. F### Dre. I don’t even wanna give him no props, dog. He’s on another planet. Even Busta ain’t talking with Dre.” ALLEGEDLY!

Check out the rest of the interview that goes more in depth, plus Slay talks about 50, Nas, Kanye, Bun-B and Lil Wayne!!!”

ALL IN THIS FOUNDATION MAGAZINE – HITTING STORES THIS NOVEMBER.

LIL’ WAYNE’S BABY’S MOM SPEAKS!

You know Wayne has been associated with a lot of women and his original love has been quiet, but she’s talking now. Toya, who we have had in picture form in the rumors, is stepping forward to Vibe. She is voicing her opinion about Weezy the father and the husband. Here are some of her words.

Yeah, the reason I was speaking out is because I feel like being a baby mother, I’m bound by unwritten code – a code of silence. So most rappers… I’m not going to say rappers – Dwayne – they say things because they know we will never get the chance to voice the truth and we just have to suck it up because this is the way we eat. But I’ve come to a point where I’m really fed up with it. A person can only take so much.

He proposed to me twice. His mother didn’t ask him to go around asking girls to have a baby. That didn’t happen. My daughter came about because we were in love and young. There’s just a lot of things that he said in his interview that just is not true. Like Wayne will call me all the time when he’s not having a good day just to talk.

THE JAY-Z TRACKLISTING IS INCOMPLETE

From what I understand that tracklisting for Jay-Z’s new CD isn’t quite finished. Well, you know for pre-sales and the like, they needed to get something up, I heard. Still, I heard Hovito is still doing songs to add on to his latest masterpiece. Anyway..its all good to the go. I’m almost certain that the CD is going to drop on Nov. 6, but I am quietly hearing that they may miss the deadline if the songs aren’t all there. I know its dropping on time.

What I also heard is that Jay-Z sent for a top UK photographer to be flown to the US for the images inside of the American Gangster CD. I hear the photog with arrive this weekend. I heard this super picture taker could easily change the artwork of the CD we have adopted as the official CD cover. We’ll see, eh?

By the way, Jay-Z’s American Gangster is not the soundtrack, it’s an album inspired by the movie. The legendary Hank Shocklee of Public Enemy fame produced some tracks on the CD.

The final album sequence is: 1. Do You Feel Me (Anthony Hamilton) * 2. Why Don’t We Do It In The Road? (Lowell Fulson) * 3. No Shoes (John Lee H#####) * 4. Across 110th Street (Bobby Womack) * 5. Stone, Cold (Anthony Hamilton) * 6. Hold On I’m Comin’ (Sam & Dave) * 7. I’ll Take You There (the Staple Singers) * 8. Can’t Truss It (Public Enemy) * 9 Checkin’ Up On My Baby (Hank Shocklee) * 10. Club Jam (Hank Shocklee) * 11. Railroad (Hank Shocklee) * 12. Nicky Barnes (Hank Shocklee) * 13. Hundred Percent Pure (Marc Streitenfeld) * 14. Frank Lucas (Marc Streitenfeld).

MEAGAN PREGNANT?

Man, what in the “Jim Brown” is going on? I am hearing rumors that Meagan good might be pregnant by that running back Thomas Jones! Now, I don’t know where all this started, but I heard he did a radio interview and when they asked him…he didn’t answer. So, he was asked if Meagan was pregnant and he just didn’t answer. Well, its time for some answers!! HOLLA!

JEEZY AND KEYSHIA – THE NEW BOBBY AND WHITNEY?

I’m just kidding about them being the new Bobby and Whitney, but they seem to be back together or something. I mean, she seemed to be airing him out in the new issue of Essence talking, “I just couldn’t submit. But I loved him. That’s the crazy thing about it. It’s been hard because I really missed that child.” Then, Jeezy replied to AHH saying that it was a lot of album promoting going on and he didn’t really care. Well, they were seen really snuggly and friendly at Jeezy’s Hangar Party. I guess, we’ll see.

READ THIS IF YOU ARE FAT, BLACK AND UGLY

If you look like Biggie Smalls, you now have a new lease on life! If you are in the New York area and have that nasal sound along with the girth and flow, you can audition for the “Notorious“ movie. They are having open auditions at City Stages on 435 West 19th Street on Saturday, October 6th. If you are not there by 10am, don’t bother!

SHAQ AIN’T TALKING!

In this day and age, it is commonplace for men and women to air everything out. We write books, put it in lyrics, radio interviews and the press. Not Shaq. We all know the rumors about his wife Shaunie, who allegedly stashed money away for a lover. Shaq’s not talking. On top of everything, I heard that the trainer in question might be a female. Check out what he had to say about it:

“That is something that I won’t discuss now and I won’t discuss 10 years from now. I won’t ever discuss it. If I ever have a bad game or bad couple of games, I won’t blame it on that. This is something that I obviously have to deal with and I’m going to deal with it the best way possible.”

JADAKISS GETS A BREAK!

Jadakiss caught a break! The rapper was arrested about a year ago on gun and drug charges. He proclaimed his innocence and guess what – he was! The DA dropped all the charges. Here is some of the report from the Associated Press.

His lawyer said it was “a travesty that the case went this far.”

The Westchester County district attorney’s office asked a judge last week to dismiss the charges against Jadakiss, whose real name is Jason Phillips, and a co-defendant, Kristian Smith.

A jury last month acquitted Frazier after DNA tests did not link any of the three to the gun.

Jadakiss’ attorney, Clement Patti, said the rapper “has had this cloud over his head for a year, affecting his career.”

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Ashanti is looking better than ever, but her “wig” still got pushed back. The Declaration was coming out on Dec. 4, but now that’s Dec. 11.

Also, Mary J will now drop two weeks after Mariah so there will be no R&B clash of the titans.

Eva Mendes ain’t pregnant and she even stated that she never wants to have kids. Well. Eva..what if you mother said that?

With all this baby talk and denial, congrats are in order. Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis, 44, and his 22-year-old girlfriend had their baby yesterday. This is the first child for the well-known Californicator.

P#### Brewster aka actress Soleil Moon Frye is pregnant with her second child.

Nicole Richie might be plump with that baby in the oven, but she’s not getting married to Joel Madden, her rock boyfriend. He’s going on tour with Good Charlotte next week. Be a father – if not, why bother?

Rumor has it, Chris Brown tapped Superhead raw dog? No way…he’s smarter than that and he was giving Fat Man Scoop relationship advice.

Eva Longoria’s so-called sex tape is just a prank. P### sites even tried to sell it saying it actually exists.

They can’t get OJ Simpson! After he got arrested in Vegas, they saw he had on a Rolex watch, which he was ordered to give to the Goldman family for their $38 million wrongful death suit. Surprise – it was a fake Rolex. LOL.

I want to send a shout out to Timbeeze, who has been down with me for years. Also, I want to send a shout out to Joe Bruno, who hates me. I love it all – love and hate.

50 CENT: “SO SERIOUS”

HERE IS HEATHER HUNTER’S “SO SERIOUS”

NEW TI F/ BUSTA RHYMES AND ALFA MEGA

I remember when Alfamega first came out. With his anti-KKK CD cover I thought he was about more than ducktaping kids. LOL…oh well.

So, what I did – I decided to split up the rumors, because they were getting too long for one page. I am posting the rest of them today, but later. Also, I will announce the winner of the Ray-J new name contest.

BRB IN THE AFTERNOON…(BBL lost – Remember that? “Be Back Later?”)

THIS AFTERNOON, WE LOVE YOU – STAY TUNED!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

Keke Palmer: Cool Kid

At 14, Keke Palmer has almost a dozen movies under her belt and has made appearances on network television shows Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and The Cold Case Files. For the last five years, she’s quietly been filling her resume with appearances and bursts of notoriety for projects like The Wool Cap and Akeelah and the Bee. After being the youngest lead actress nominee to date for a Screen Actors Guild Award, it is only fitting that she has a few more tricks up her sleeve. The most recent of her efforts being an album on Atlantic Records titled So Uncool. A singer at heart, Palmer’s vocal endeavors were sidelined at age nine when she was cast opposite Ice Cube and Queen Latifah for a small role in Barbershop 2. Her family was convinced that she could be successful as an actress and relocated from Chicago to Los Angeles. The move is still proving to be worthwhile as Keke has never had problems finding movie or television roles, but her love for music has literally waited in the wings. She has provided several songs for soundtracks, but never anything as involved as her debut album. Going so far as to co-write a few tracks with her sister, So Uncool is totally Keke, and she even took the time out to explain why.   AllHipHop.Com Alternatives: For your first major release, how have you been handling the process?Keke Palmer: I’ve been busy doing a lot of radio and interviews, but it has been fun. It took me almost two years to complete the album, because I was filming two movies as well. It was a new experience for me, but I really enjoyed working in the studio.AHHA: Who did the writing and production?Keke: I worked with Babyface, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Clutch and a lot of other artists. Also, JR Rotem who does a lot of stuff for Sean Kingston. I actually wrote four tracks with my sister too.AHHA: Have you always written your own songs?Keke:  I grew up around music, so I always knew that I could write if I really put my mind to it. AHHA: Being seen as an actress, was it always in the plans for you to release a CD?Keke: My mom used to write and sing all of the time. I remember at five years old being a singer in the church choir.  I always thought that when I got older, I would be a singer. Acting kind of just happened first, but singing was my first passion.          AHHA: How did the whole acting thing develop?        Keke: I auditioned for The Lion King off-Broadway, because it was both a singing and acting role. I realized that not only could I act, but that I really wanted to do it. All of this took place in my hometown of Chicago, which is where Barbershop 2 was filmed. I auditioned for the movie and everything just came together.  AHHA: The Wool Cap followed not too far behind that role?                     Keke: Yes, it was a TNT movie with William H. Macy. I was nominated for a SAG award for that. It was amazing because I’d just moved to California. My first week out there, I got a K-Mart commercial, the second week I booked Cold Case and on the third I got the job for The Wool Cap. I was really excited about getting that because we were unsure about what was going to happen when we moved. It was a longshot for things to happen the way that they did. I just sat back and was like “Wow, I really did it.” The SAG nomination just proved to me that I should keep going with this, it showed me that I was moving in the right direction.AHHA: On your part, how much convincing did it take for your parents to leave Chicago?    Keke: My mom didn’t tell me at the time, but while I was working on Barbershop 2, the producers were telling her that we should move to California. They felt that I could make it, so they kept telling her that I’d have a better chance out there. A little while after that, we went for a visit and three major agencies wanted me to work with them. My parents decided that maybe the producers were right.  After a few weeks of thinking about it, we all came to the same conclusion. We drove for three nights and four days, and there I was in Los Angeles. It was all worth it.AHHA: How excited are you about being both an actress and singer?  Keke: It’s great! My album is out now, it’s called So Uncool and my first single is “Keep It Movin.” It’s a really good record. It’s about grown up things, to things that only younger people experience. It might put you in the mind of Brandy, TLC or Aaliyah. Something along those lines.    AHHA: Any particular reason for the title?        Keke: For me, being uncool is what makes you cool. It is all about being yourself and being different. I wanted everyone to understand that. I’m uncool. AHHA: You’ve always stayed very busy, what else do you have in the works?Keke: The album just came out, so lots of new stuff from that. I have a new movie in the fall and I should definitely be on tour soon. You can find out more about everything through my official website KekePalmer.Com and Myspace.com/TheRealKekePalmer. I have some fansites too. The video for “Keep It Movin” will be in rotation on MTV very soon, so keep a look out for me.

Thorotracks: Grinding to the Top with DJ Premier and Killah Priest

As

a producer on the rise, a surefire piece of advice is to be prepared

to pay dues. “There will be many to pay,” as the production due of Sam

and Jay will tell you. It’s usually a rough road to travel just to get

a buzz in your own hood, let alone outside of city limits, and you can

double that if you’re from New York.

The

Queens cronies that make up Thorotracks have grown together by waiting

in long lines, handing out beats for free, and pushing themselves to

make the best music they possibly can. They’ll tell you how it sucks

having to be annoying and putting your beat CD in the hands of that

same rapper 15 times just to get him to listen. But eventually, they

will listen, and if you’ve dedicated an equal combination of blood,

sweat and tears to your product, it will be reflected in the sound of your music.

Sam

and Jay are no strangers to the grind of the street, after hustling around

Queens together for the past six years trying to get the Thorotracks

name out. The obstacles were many, and even after catching the ear of

DJ Premier and scoring joints on his latest project, their hustle is

far from over. As a testament to that, they gave AllHipHop.com a few

courtesy minutes while pulled over on the side of a busy New York boulevard,

in what’s just another day in the life of two producers who don’t

know the meaning of the word ‘stop.’

AllHipHop.com: You were on

the way to Killah Priest’s album signing yesterday. How’d that go?

Sam: That was dope man. It

was really like his in-store with ours, ’cause we just put out a street

album/mixtape too at the same time. So it was cool, we was in Long Island,

he performed with Hellrazah. It was a good vibe.

AllHipHop.com: Nice. So you

guys dropped a street album?

Jay: Yeah, it’s called The

Saga Begins

AllHipHop.com: What’s the

response been like to it so far?

Sam: It’s pretty good, we

got it all over the place already. We’re goin’ hard with it, and we

got J-Love to host it for us.

AllHipHop.com: So since you’ve

been getting with artists like Priest and everyone, have you been forging

some good relationships?

Sam: Yeah, you know some people

we’ll do joints with for them, and they’ll do something for us.

A couple of people we’ve got real good relationships with, like Killah

Priest, Shabaam Shadeeq, Killa Sha. A couple people we’re real close

to.

AllHipHop.com: It must have

been dope to get with the NYGz for their project, since that’s the

first one dropping on Premier’s new imprint right?

Jay: Yeah, word. We were glad

to do it. How long ago did you do those songs?

Sam: We did those songs like

two years ago probably. Two years and change. But they’re like family

to us though man.

AllHipHop.com: Did you get

to jump in the studio for those sessions, or do you usually just shop

the beats and hear the final product?

Jay: A little of both man.

With the NYGz project, we were in the studio with them.

Sam: They’re like fam, so

yeah. We’re about to go to the video shoot too today, right after we

do this with you.

AllHipHop.com: I can’t imagine

what it’s like for you guys having tracks alongside someone like Premier,

and you guys really did your thing on Welcome 2 G-Dom. Did you feel

any pressure working on that?

Jay: Naw man, no pressure.

It’s respect just to be alongside Premier.

Sam: Yeah, and Preem showed

us a lot of love. Like he wore our shirt in London at a press conference.

Jay: Yeah he showed love, and

it was originally through Blaq Poet back in the day cause we had something

with him and that’s how we met. We did something for Poet, and it

was supposed to be for our album, but Preem was like “Naw, we keeping

it for the album.” So I was just like “Yeah go ahead man,” just

happy to a part of anything that he was doing, you know?

AllHipHop.com: Now a lot of

up-and-coming producers like yourselves end up signing in-house production

deals with labels. Have you ever considered that avenue, or been approached

with that type of offer?

Sam: I mean, we’ve been approached,

but it was all labels that wasn’t really worthwhile like that. So

we never did, but if the numbers are right, and the people are right

we’d definitely do it. But we’re so independent, we do everything

ourselves. No manager, no nothing, we just grind.

Jay: That’s just it. Most

of the labels out there making us offers, they weren’t doing anything

for us that we couldn’t do for ourselves. You know what I’m sayin’?

So why do it?

AllHipHop.com: Right. I like

a good come-up story, so tell me a little about the origination of Thorotracks

coming together and creating music.

Sam: Oh damn. How do we…wow.

I don’t know, we just met one day. Jay started doing the beats before

me, and I ended up buying the MP[C], but I ain’t really know how to rock

it. My man was from Kelona, and he was a DJ and he introduced me to

Jay, and we clicked instantly. And that’s really how it started.

AllHipHop.com: So it’s been

a while since you came together.

Jay: ’01, ’02. Something

like that.

AllHipHop.com: As a duo, how

do your attributes mesh together to form the team?

Sam: Well we’re both well

rounded, and we criticize each other. Sometimes if you’re by yourself,

it’s harder because you don’t have someone to go “Aww, that’s

wack.” And whoever is feeling stronger about it one way or the other

is how we decide how the joint goes out.

AllHipHop.com: What was the

first situation you guys got in where you felt like you were on your

way up with your foot in the door?

Sam: Maybe the stuff we did

with Poet? Probably the Royal Flush projects we worked on with him.

AllHipHop.com: And what was

your mindstate like back then working on those projects?

Sam: It was real cool man,

we were rollin’ around with him a lot and we just met a whole lot of

people. Everybody in the game knew who he was so, he showed a lot of

love and brought us through to everybody.

Jay: Any and everybody. It

was like family, we spent every day together for like two or three years

and that was our whole crew at that time.

AllHipHop.com: Poet seems like

a pretty crazy dude, and you guys must be pretty heavy in the streets

too if you were rollin with him like that.

Sam: (Laughs) Yeah, there’s

been plenty of crazy times, but it is what it is and we were from the

streets anyway. We did what we had to do, but we’re just really positive

right now with the music, cause we ain’t trying to do any of that

other s**t anymore.

AllHipHop.com: That’s good.

What’s the current state of affairs in New York right now, particularly

in Queens with you guys having your fingers on the pulse of the underground

scene?

Sam: It’s cool, but you know,

New York is just New York and there’s not that much love over here

man. You’ll go to shows and it’ll be big shows with big rappers,

and there’ll be 30 or 40 people there. If that was out of state, there’ll

be tons of people there. It used to trendsetters in New York, but now

it’s a bunch of followers. They ain’t really doing New York music

out here, but it’s coming back now, little by little.

AllHipHop.com: You guys have

a chance to get out of town at all?

Sam: Yeah we’ve hit Boston,

Detroit, Los Angeles, Houston…

Jay: We’ve gone other places

to spread our music out a little bit more, but you know how it is. People

ain’t being receptive to underground Hip-Hop right now. But we’re

not gonna change what we do, so it’s like you either love the underground

or you don’t. That’s as simple as it is now.

AllHipHop.com: So in terms

of the artists you’ve worked with to this point, do either of you

have a favorite project you’ve been able to work on thus far?Sam: We’ve got a real crazy

joint with Killah Priest that’ll be coming out for his next album,

and we’re a good six joints deep in with him already.

Jay: And with Shabaam Shadeeq,

he’ll be dropping his mixtape/street album and we did a lot of joints

on there with different artists on there.

Sam: Connect Four was real

crazy too, I don’t know if you heard that one but it was on Sean P’s

Master P album too. And we’re about to do Connect Four Part 2, he

said he’s down, ready to go.

AllHipHop.com: Alright, I know

you guys endorse the phrase “Hip-Hops not dead, it’s on life support.”

Can you get into where you’re coming with that a little bit?

Jay: Realistically, Hip-Hop

is never gonna die cause there’s too many people out there that love

it. But I look at the type of Hip-Hop that we make, and it’s on life

support man. A lot of people aren’t showing it the respect how it

used to get maybe eight to ten years ago. The hard Hip-Hop, what I grew

up on and what I love, I feel it’s on life support. It’s not dead,

but it’s not fully alive like in the mid to late ‘90s.

Sam: They call it underground

now, but then that wasn’t underground, that was just Hip-Hop man.

What made it underground? I don’t know. Maybe it’s not as commercial

as the other stuff that’s right now. But me, I don’t see it as underground

I just see it as Hip-Hop.

AllHipHop.com: You guys will

be trying to bring that mentality back to New York?

Sam: Yeah, there’s a lot

of people that’s part of that movement. These older rappers are coming

back out. MC Shan is coming back out of nowhere. Marley Marl coming

back with that project with KRS One. A lot of people are coming back

right now, so hopefully it will turn around. I mean how much more can

people take of the bulls**t that’s out now? These rappers aren’t

saying anything, you can’t relate to it.

Talib Kweli & Mos Def To Perform At ICER AIR Festival

Rapper Talib Kweli will reunite with his Black Star group mate Mos Def next month as they headline this year’s Esurance ICER Air festival.

The duo will perform Nov. 3 on the center stage at AT&T Park during the big-air competition.

For ICER Air founder and president Glen Griffin, Talib Kweli and Mos Def represent a significant milestone in the history of the event.

Described as an action sports, music and lifestyle event, Esurance ICER Air drew 15,000 people in its Sept. 29, 2005 debut as the first-ever urban big air ski and snowboard competition.

The one-day event, which was held on Filmore Street in San Francisco, relocated to AT&T Park the following year and transformed into a showcase for BMX, skate and wakeboard performances and competitions while highlighting the ski and snowboard competition.

“We are thrilled to have Mos Def and Talib Kweli onboard as our headliners this year,” Griffin said in a statement. “They are incredibly talented performers who evoke the free-spirited, urban authenticity of Icer Air. In just three years, this event has gone from a crazy idea of bringing snow to Fillmore Street to a two-day action sports, music and lifestyle celebration. The fun and excitement that our musical guests bring to Esurance Icer Air will be of central importance to the continued evolution and success of the event.”

This year’s ICER Air will expand to two days as it features multi-venue series of events, action sports, concerts and parties.

In addition to Kweli and Mos Def, festival attendees will see opening act DJ Spider and Team Canada’s DJ Scene and DJ Morse Code, who will kick off the event on Nov. 2 at AT&T Park with a performance at the ICER Village.

Competing athletes will be also be featured as well as a second venue, freestyle motocross, a skate and BMX park, wakeboarding, 60 vendors and exhibitors, a beer garden and a second concert stage.

Tickets for the Esurance ICER Air festival start at $10.

NFL WEEK 4 Wrap-Up

1pm games:

Atlanta Falcons (1-3) def. Houston Texans (2-2)

Location: Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GA

Score: 26-16

Okay, maybe I spoke too soon last week when I said the Falcons need to switch their starting QBs. Now that I think about, I didn’t, Joey Harrington still stinks.  But he had a hell of a game for the Falcons last Sunday.  He was 23 for 29 with 223 passing yards and 2 TDs in leading the Falcons to their first win of the season.  The Falcons took the lead in the middle of the 1st quarter on a Morten Anderson 28-yard FG.  The Texans answered back with 35-yard TD pass from Matt Schuab to Andre Davis to make the score 7-3 with 5:42 on the clock min the 1st quarter. Harrington answered back with a 5-yard TD pass to WR Michael Jenkins with 1:18 left in the first quarter to take the lead with the score 10-7.  After that touchdown, the Texans were playing catch-up for the remainder of the day.

With the Falcons leading 16-23 in the 4th quarter, Morten Anderson kicked a 46-yard FG to give the Falcons a 26-16 lead with 8:21 left on the clock.  With 2:10 left on the clock, Texans kicker Kris Brown missed a 25-yard field goal that would have put the Texans within 7 points.  The Falcons got the ball back after the missed field goal and ran out the clock for the win.  Matt Schuab was 28 for 40 with 317 yards and 1 TD while Texans WR Andre Davis had 5 catches for 117 yards and 1 touchdown in the loss.

Buffalo Bills (1-3) def. NY Jets (1-3)

Location: Ralph Wilson Stadium, Buffalo, NY

Score: 17-14

The rookies stepped it up for the Bills last Sunday. Bills rookie QB Trent Edwards got the start because J.P. Losman sat out today’s game with a sprained left knee. Edwards was 22 for 28 with 234 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT.  Not bad for his first start.  Bills rookie RB, Marshawn Lynch, had 1 TD on 23 carries for 79 yards.  A viable candidate for “Rookie of the Year”, Lynch is definitely proving his worth and has helped breath some life in the Bills offense.

The game was scoreless going into the 2nd half after Jets kicker Mike Nugent missed a 37-yard FG with 0:01 left in the first half.  With 6:04 on the clock in the 3rd quarter, Lynch ran for 10-yards up the middle for the first TD of the game.  The Jets answered backed on the very next drive with a 5-yard TD pass from Chad Pennington to WR Laveranues Coles to tie the game 7-7.  With a 10-7 lead in the middle of the 4th quarter, Edwards hit TE Michael Gaines for a 1-yard TD to go up 17-7.  The Jets would not die as RB Leon Washington ran in his first TD on the year for 8 yards to make the score 17-14 with 3:07 left in the game.  With 1:26 left in the game, the Jets got the ball back on their 26 yard line and charged down to the Bills 39 yard line.  With 0:11 left in the game, Bills CB Terrence McGee intercepted Pennington’s pass to TE Chris Baker on the Bills 31 yard line to shut down the comeback and get the win.

Pennington was 32 for 39 with 290 yards passing, 1 TD and 2 INTs.  Coles and fellow Jet WR, Jericho Cotchery, each had 8 catches.  Coles caught for 65 yards while Cotchery had 106 receiving yards and no touchdowns.  The Jets were held to 60 total yards of rushing.  RB Thomas Jones had 12 carries for 35 yards and no touchdowns.  Jones has been held under 100-yards rushing in 3 of the last 4 games.

Cleveland Browns (2-2) def. Baltimore Ravens (2-2)

Location: Cleveland Browns Stadium, Cleveland, OH

Score: 27-13

When the Browns traded QB Charlie Frye to the Seahawks in the beginning of the year, we all thought that was the dumbest move in the world because that left the Browns without a real starting QB.  That trade made Derek Anderson the current starting QB.  Well we were wrong and it looks like the Browns head coach, Romeo Crennel, will keep his job for now.  Anderson had 201 yards on 10 of 18 passes with 2 TDs and 1 interception.  Not a bad day’s work.  The Browns jumped all over the Ravens like a spider monkey

The Browns took a 14-0 lead towards the end of the 1st quarter when Anderson hit WR Braylon Edwards with a 78-yard touchdown pass.  Edwards had 3 catches for 97-yards and 1 touchdown. The sore was 17-3 when Browns RB Jamal Lewis served up a little vengeance to his old team with a 1-yard touchdown in the middle of 2nd quarter to extend their lead to 24-3.  Down 27-6 in the 3rd quarter, Steve “Air” McNair hit TE Quinn Sypniewski with a 4-yard touchdown pass to make the score 27-13 with 7:19 left on the clock.  That wasn’t enough as key miscues and penalties stopped the Ravens from scoring again and losing the game.  Jamal Lewis had 23 carries for 64 yards and 1 touchdown.  McNair threw for 307 yards on 34 of 53 passes.  He had 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

Dallas Cowboys (4-0) def. St. Louis Rams (0-4)

Location: Texas Stadium, Irving, TX

Score: 35-7

The injury bug has really taken its toll on a number of teams.  The Rams are a perfect example.  With Pro-Bowl tackle Orlando Pace out for the year and RB Stephen Jackson out of last Sunday’s game with a pulled groin; the Rams had an icicle’s chance in hell to win.  On the good side, the Rams hung in tough with the Cowboys through the entire first half.  On the bad side, the Cowboys ripped into the Rams like a fat chick in low rise jean two sizes too small.

The score was tied at zero in the 2nd quarter when Cowboys RB Julius Jones ran in a 2-yard touchdown to make the score 7-0.  The Rams tied the game with an 85-yard punt return by Dante Hall with 2:32 left in the first half.  With 0:56 left on the clock, Cowboys QB Tony Romo had the play of the day, and arguably the play of the year, on a botched snap that he recovered for the first down.  The 3rd quarter saw the Cowboys run away with the game.  With 0:16 left in the 3rd, Romo ran 15 yards for a touchdown to take the lead 14-7.  On the Cowboy‘s next two possessions, Romo found WR Patrick Crayton for a 59-yard and 37-yard touchdown.  Those 2 TDs made the score 28-7.  Just when you thought it was safe, he’s back.  Romo found TE Jason Whiten for a 17-yard touchdown to make the score 35-7 for the final.  Tony Romo was 21 for 33 with 339 yards passing.  He had 1 interception with 3 passing TDs and 1 rushing touchdown.  Have a game why don’t you.  Patrick Crayton had 7 catches for 184 yards and 2 TDs.

Game of the Week: Detroit Lions (3-1) def. Chicago Bears (1-3)

Location: Ford Field, Detroit, MI

Score: 37-27

It’s been said, “Change is good.”  I guess the Bears didn’t get that memo.  With the miserable playmaking abilities of Rex Grossman, the Bears decided to go to second-string veteran QB Brian Griese to run their offense on the field.  Well as you can see from the score, that change was not good for the Bears.  Griese was 34 for 52 with 286 yards of passing and 2 TDs.  Good look.  He also threw 3 INTs.  Not a good look.

The Bears started off strong with a 7-3 lead going into the half.  They later scored with 5:13 in the 3rd quarter on a Robbie Gould 49-yard field goal to make the score 10-3 and with 0:53 left in the 3rd, Gould hit a 41 yard field to extend the Bears’ lead and make the score 13-3.  Then the Lions woke up.

The start of the 4th quarter saw a 4-yard touchdown from Jon Kitna to WR Shaun McDonald that brought the Lions within 3 points with the score 13-10.  On the Bears next possession, an interception by Lions CB Keith Smith led to a touchdown and the lead with the score 17-13.   The Bears regained the lead with a 97-yard kick return form Devin Hester on the ensuing kick-off making the score 20-17.  With 10:12 in the 4th quarter, Kitna hit Troy Walters with a 15-yard touchdown to take the lead 24-20.  Lions RB Kevin Jones ran in a 5-yard touchdown to extend the lead to extend the lead to 30-24.  Jones had 10 carries for 38 yards and the one touchdown.  Hanson’s attempt for the PAT was blocked.

A penalty nullified a Robbie Gould 21-yard field goal and gave the Bears 4th and 1 on the Lions 1 yard line.  With 4th and 1 the Bears went for it and Griese threw a 1 yard touchdown to TE Desmond Clark to within a field goal of the Lions with the score 27-30 with 0:55 left on the clock.  On the next play, the Bears attempted an on-sides kick that was recovered by TE Casey Fitzsimmons that was returned for a 41-yard touchdown that put it away for the Lions.  Kitna was 20 of 24 with 247 yards of passing and 2 TDs.

Oakland Raiders (2-2) def. Miami Dolphins (0-4)

Location: Dolphin Stadium, Miami, FL

Score: 35-17

Hey Dolphins fans, this was what you were supposed to have.  That didn’t workout for the Phins.  It was time to rebuild, and so Cam Cameron and the Phins did this.  Make you wanna smack your head, doesn’t it?  The Phins came into last Sunday’s game hoping to get their first win of the season. With the Raiders having a 1-2 record, there was a good chance they may pull it of.  Plus, the Raiders starting QB, Josh McCown, was injured and an old friend of the Phin got the start.  With friends like these, who needs enemies?

Daunte Culpepper was 5 for 12 for 75 yards and 2 TDs.  Not record breaking stats, but what helped the Raiders was the way they ran the ball. RB Justin Fargas had 22 carries for 179 yards.  Although he didn’t score a touchdown, those are not bad numbers.  Oh, did I mention Culpepper ran in 3 TDs on his surgically repaired knee.  On his third rushing touchdown, Culpepper celebrated by pointing to his right knee and showing crowd that he was still on top of his game.  What do you think about that?  Everybody get your roll on.

The Dolphins had a balanced mix of pass and run with 137 passing yards and 141 rushing yards.  It still wasn’t enough for the win.  Ronnie Brown had 134 yards of rushing on 15 carries and he scored 1 touchdown.  Trent Green was 14 for 25 with 158 yards of passing, 1 touchdown and 2 INTs.  Not good at all.  And what did that #1 draft pick, Ted Ginn, Jr. do for the Dolphins last Sunday?  Nothing.  Wished you could turn back time, Cam Cameron?

Green Bay Packers (4-0) def. Minnesota Vikings (1-3)

Location: Metrodome, Minneapolis, MN

Score: 23-16

Brett Farve broke the record for Most Career Touchdowns by a QB.  Now we can go on with our lives.  Arguably a one of the Top 5 QBs in the history of the NFL, Farve broke the record on a 16-yard pass up the middle to WR Greg Jennings in the middle of the 1st quarter.  Farve was 32 for 45 with 344 yards and 2 TDs.  If you’re going to set a record, do it in style. The Vikes did get on the board with three field goals by kicker Ryan Longwell and the score was 16-9 when Frave threw his second touchdown to rookie WR James Jones to change the score 23-9.

With 2:00 left in the game, Kelly Holcomb, who started for the injured Tavaris Jackson, found rookie WR Sidney Rice for a 15-yard touchdown to get within 7pts.of the Packers with the score 23-16.  The Vikings got the ball back with 1:40 on the clocking looking to tie the game but an interception by Packers Safety Atari Bigby on the Packers 23 yard line put an end to that drive.  Game Over.  The Packers ran out the clock the remainder of the game for the win.  Holcomb was 21 for 39 with 258 passing yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception.  Another Rookie of the Year candidate, Adrian Peterson, ran for 112 yards on 12 carries in the loss.

4pm games:

Seattle Seahawks (3-1) def. San Francisco 49ers (2-2)

Location: Monster Park, San Francisco, CA

Score: 23-3

I thought the Raider/Dolphin game was going to be a snoozer.  I was wrong.  This was the worst game of the day.  This game was terrible from start to finish for the Niners.  On the first drive of the game, Seahawks’ DT Rocky Bernard sacked Niners QB Alex Smith and separated his shoulder.  Smith would sit out the remainder of the day and the 14 yr. veteran, Trent Dilfer, came in as quarterback.  And he wasn’t much help either.  Dilfer was 12 for 33 with 128 yards and 2 INTs.  He also made a new friend in Seahawks linebacker, and former 49er, Julian Peterson.  Peterson had 3 sacks on the day.  The Seahawks had a total of 6 sacks last Sunday.  Where was the offensive line for the Niners?  On a Lunch break?  Hanging out with the Eagles offensive line having a smoke?  I’ll touch more on that later.

With the score 13-0 in the 3rd quarter, Matt Hasselbeck found TE Marcus Pollard for a 14-yard touchdown to extend their lead to 20-0.  The Niners finally got on the board with a Joe Nedney 43-yard field goal to make the score 20-3 in the middle of the 3rd quarter.  Josh Brown hit a 25-yard field goal in the start of the 4th quarter and the Seahawks held the Niners scoreless for the remainder of the game.  That win gave the Seahawks sole possession of 1st place in the NFC West.  Hasselbeck was 23 for 31 with 281 yards of passing, 2 TDs and 1 interception while RB Shaun Alexander 25 carries for 78 yards with a broken left hand.  Frank Gore was held to 79 yards on 16 carries and no touchdowns.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1) def. Carolina Panthers (2-2)

Location: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC

Score: 20-7

Jon Gruden has something special going on in Tampa and it’s from a former 49er.  Thought I would just remind you folks where your QB got his start and how the Niner fans wish they could have him back.  On the flip side, Gruden also lost his top running back, Cadillac Williams, with a torn patellar tendon in his right knee.  Cadillac and OT Luke Petitgout, who tore his ACL in his right knee, will each have season ending surgery.  Maybe things aren’t as sunny as we think they are in Tampa.  This I do know, the Bucs gave the Panthers no sunshine in last Sunday’s game.

Jeff Garcia was 15 for 25 with 176 yards of passing.  He may have not thrown any touchdowns, but he ran one in.  In the middle of the 1st quarter, Garcia scrambled for 3 yards for the touchdown and gave the Bucs the lead 7-0.  After Garcia’s scamper, the Bucs just ran the table by scoring thirteen additional points making the score 20-0.  The butler couldn’t serve up any points until the 4th quarter.   David Carr, his white gloves, and the Panthers offense did not score a point until there was 0:31 left in the game with a 24-yard touchdown pass to DeAngelo Williams to make the score 20-7 which was the final.  Carr finished the game 19 for 41 with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.  Panthers’ WR Steve Smith was held to 5 catches for 32 yards.

Indianapolis Colts (4-0) def. Denver Broncos (2-2)

Location: RCA Dome, Indianapolis, IN

Score: 38-20

The defending Super Bowl Champs proved once again why they are the champs. WR Marvin Harrison, LB Rob Morris, Safety Bob Sanders, and RB Joseph Addai did not finish the game last Sunday due to various injuries.  Who was left to play for the Colts?  How about RB Kenton Keith, TE Dallas Clark and WR Reggie Wayne?  Peyton Manning is like MacGyver, give him a little and he can make it go boom.  Manning was 20 for 27 with 193 yards and 3 TDs.  He found Dallas Clark twice and Reggie Wayne once.  Clark finished the game with 6 catches for 76 yards and Wayne had 5 catches for 38 yards.

The game was a back and forth battle that saw the Colts with a 1 point lead going into the half with the score 13-14.  Manning had a 1-yard touchdown in the beginning of the 3rd quarter to extend the lead 21-13.  He later found Clark for one of his two touchdowns with a 3-yard pass to make the score 28-13.  Broncos QB Jay Cutler ran up the middle for 2 yards for a touchdown to make the score 28-20.  A Reggie Wayne touchdown for 5 yards and a 22-yard field goal by Adam Viniteri seal it for the win.  Cutler was 13 for 21 with 131 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

Arizona Cardinals (2-2) def. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1)

Location: University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, AZ

Score: 21-14

Pick a quarterback, any quarterback.  That’s Cardinals’ head coach, Ken Whisenhunt, new philosophy.  Matt Leinart and Kurt Warner combined on 21 of 35 passes for 225 yards and 1 touchdown.  I guess this new, two quarterback system works.  Pittsburgh took the lead with 7-0 with a 43-yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger to WR Santonio Holmes going into the 2nd quarter and eventually into the 2nd half.  The middle of the 3rd quarter saw a 6-yard touchdown pass from Warner to WR Jerheme Urban to tie the score 7-7.

The Cards took the lead with 14:28 on the clock in the 4th quarter with a 73-yard punt return from WR Steve Breaston to make the score 14-7.  They then extended their lead 21-7 with an Edgerrin James 2-yard touchdown run.  James finished the day with 21 carries for 77 yards and 1 touchdown.  The Steelers answered aback with a Roethlisberger hitting Holmes again on a short pass that went 7 yards for the touchdown.  The Steelers were behind by a touchdown with the score 21-14 in the 4th quarter with 1:54 left on the clock.  The Steelers got the ball back with 0:54 left on the clock.  With 0:19 left in the game on the Steelers 32-yard line, Roethlisberger threw an interception to Cards CB Ralph Brown to end the game.  Roethlisberger finished the game 17 for 32 with 244 yards of passing, 2 TDs and 2 INTs.

Kansas City Chiefs (2-2) def. San Diego Chargers (1-3)

Location: Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego, CA

Score: 30-16

What in the hell is going on in San Diego?  I’ll tell you what’s going on in San Diego; the defense stinks.  The score was 3-0 when the Chargers scored their only touchdown of the day with a 5-yard run by LaDainian Tomlinson making the score 10-0.  Tomlinson had 20 carries for 132 yards and 1 touchdown.   The Chargers had the lead throughout the entire 1st half and the majority of the 3rd quarter.

The score was 16-9 when Damon Huard hit Tony Gonzalez for a 22-yard touchdown with 1:58 left on the clock to tie the game at 16-16 in the 3rd quarter.  Huard then threw a 51-yard bomb to rookie WR Dwayne Bowe for a touchdown with 11:55 to play in the 4th quarter.  The score was 23-16 when Chargers QB Philip Rivers was sacked by Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson for 11 yards and fumbled the ball.  Chiefs’ CB Tyron Brackbridge picked up the fumble and ran it in the end zone for 50 yards to extend their lead 30-16 to cap off the win.  Huard was 17 for 29for 284 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs.  Larry Johnson finally had a 100-yard rushing game for the Chiefs this season.  Johnson had 123 yards on 25 carries with no touchdowns.

Sunday Night Game:

NY Giants (2-2) def. Philadelphia Eagles (1-3)

Location: Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ

Score: 16-3

Defense wins games.  That was the case in East Rutherford last Sunday night. Giants DE Osi Umenyiora set the Giants franchise record with 6 sacks and the Giant defense tied a NFL game record of 12 sacks against the Eagles.   The Eagles offensive line must have still been on that cigarette break with the Niners O-line.

The Giants had a 7-0 lead after Eli Manning hit Plaxico Burress with a 9-yard touchdown pass in the 2nd quarter.  The lead was extended to 10-0 after a 29-yard field goal by Lawrence Tynes in the 3rd quarter with 2:08 on the clock.  With 1:42 on the clock, Donovan McNabb fumbled the ball at the Eagles 20 yard line and was recovered by Giants LB Kawika Mitchell for 17 yards and the touchdown.  The Eagles finally scored on a 53-yard field goal by David Akers. It wasn’t enough as good defense and bad penalties handed the Eagles their 3rd loss for the season.   McNabb was 15 for 31 with 138 yards and no touchdowns.  He also had 3 fumbles.  Eli was 14 for 26 with135 yards of passing with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

Monday Night Game:

New England Patriots (4-0) def. Cincinnati Bengals (1-3)

Location: Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati, OH

Score: 34-13

You see; this is what happens when your defense is being held together with duct tape and chicken wire and your teammates are undisciplined.  You don’t win games. The Pats had a total of 404 yards while the Bengals had a total of 283 yards for the Monday night game.  That’s a difference of 121 yards.  How is that possible?  No rushing yards, that’s how it’s possible.  The Bengals had 57 total rushing yards compared to the Patriots 173 total rushing yards.

Stephen Gostkowski kicked a 31-yard field goal to give the Pats a 3-0 lead. The Pats then scored the first touchdown of the game with a 1-yard pass from Tom Brady to LB Mike Vrabel to extend the lead 10-0 in the 1st quarter.  Carson Palmer hit T.J. “Who’s Your Momma” Houshmandzadeh with a 1-yard touchdown pass to make the score 10-7 with 11:03 left in the 2nd quarter.  With 4:17 left in the first half, Brady hit Randy Moss with a 7-yard touchdown pass to extend their lead 17-7.  That was the first of Moss’ two touchdown of the night.  Moss finished the game with 9 catches for 102 yards and 2 TDs.  Beasting.

Pats RB Sammy Morris filled in for the injured Laurence Maroney with 21 carries for 117 yards and 1 touchdown.  Morris scored on a 7-yard run on the Bengals 7-yard line with 8:00 to play in the 3rd quarter to make the score 24-7.  Shayne Graham kicked a 40-yard goal for the Bengals to make the score 24-10 with 4:17 left to play in the 3rd quarter.

The 4th quarter started with a 36-yard field goal by Gostkowski and the score changed again 27-10.  Not to be out done, Graham kicked a 48-yard field goal to change the score 27-13.  That would be the last time the Bengals scored.  With 3:24 left in the game, Brady found Moss again for a 14-yard touchdown to make the score and the game 34-13. Brady finished the day with 231 yards on 25 0f 31 passes.  He also had 3TDs and 1 interception.  Palmer was 21 for 35 with 234 passing yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception.  Ocho-Cinco told fans he was going to put on a show this year, well that show was cancelled Monday night.  Johnson had 1 catch for 3 yards.  Ouch.

The Pats are easily the most complete team in the league right now.  Many have them going undefeated for the season and serious Super Bowl contenders.  It’s going to be interesting to see if they can pull it off.  But for now, circle Week 9 on you calendars.  That’s when the Pats meet the Colts in Indy.  That may be your Super Bowl right there.

Luke Challenges Diddy, Nelly, T.I. – On The Football Field

Hip-Hop legend Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell is organizing the Third Annual Battle of the Stars Celebrity Football Tournament, which will be held next year in his hometown of Miami, Florida.

Campbell, who will coach a team from his National Youth Football League, organizes the yearly competition between youth leagues from across the country to “put up or shut up” in a game of football.

Teams from Virginia, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Baltimore and all across Florida have signed on to play in the tournament, which will feature the most athletic and explosive players in the United States being coached by various celebrities.

“I would like to see all these rappers and entertainers who claim to be football coaches, who claim to run football leagues either put up or shut up,” Campbell told AllHipHop.com. “This is a week long tournament, rather than just a game. It is a true tournament of champions.”

Twenty teams from across the country will participate in this year’s tournament, which will take place in Miami, the week before Super Bowl XLII.

Last year, celebrities like T.I., Rick Ross, Warren Sapp, Chad Johnson and Edgerrin James coached teams during games at Curtis Park Football Stadium in Miami, Florida.

“Don’t be scared Nelly, Jermaine, Diddy, and Snoop,” Campbell jokingly said. “It’s all in fun and it gives these entertainers a chance to do something for kids in their ‘hood who might not ever have a chance to travel out of state and visit Miami. It will give artists a chance to put a smile on a child’s face and give back to their community.”

Celebrities participating in this years tournament include T.I., Chad Johnson, Trick Daddy, Edgerrin James, Bryan McKinney, William Joseph, Antonio Bryant and Hip-Hop Soda Shop owner/football legend Warren Sapp.

For the first time in the tournament’s history, Campbell will also introduce a cheerleading competition with a Hip-Hop twist.

“We know that there are a lot of female entertainers who want to support the girls from where they grew up,” Campbell told AllHipHop.com. “A lot of these entertainers were cheerleaders on their local park, so we want them to come out and show their support by sponsoring their ‘hoods cheer programs. I can see it now, Eve’s cheer group from Philly going up against Da Brat’s cheer group from Chicago.”

Campbell’s National Youth Football League is based in Florida and provides funding to participating members to improve fields, facilities, computers and sports equipment.

The Orange Bowl Committee donated over $100,000 in funding for the league in its opening year.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit The National Youth Football League and other youth football league organizations.

Various Artists: From Dubplate to Download (The Best of Greensleeves Records)

In celebration of 30 long years holding it down on the reggae scene, Greensleeves Records, recently released a 30 track, double disc collectable, From Dubplate to Download (Greensleeves), with every boom tune representing a year from the labels history.  Whether it’s Roots or Dancehall fans long to hear, this compilation has a handful of throwbacks for true reggae music lovers.       The first disc takes you to a time when music clearly had a revolutionary mission.  Juggling trough dubs like, “Born For A Purpose” (Doctor Alimantado) and “War” (Wailing Souls) from the late 1970’s, then fast forwarding to the 80’s and early 90’s with tracks like “Zungguzgung” (Yellow Man) and “Twice My Age” (Krystal & Shabba Ranks), One Drop, Ragga records conveniently flood the CD. The hype up digital generation may not be able to appreciate these classics but pop in the disc for the 25 and older crowd who will undoubtedly enjoy rubba dubbin’ down memory lane. The second disc, however, thumps in with a slightly different vibe.  If you rate Bashment, Dancehall tunes, this CD’s for you. The record opens with, “Oh Carolina” (Shaggy) but then breezes through a handful of hits like, “Down In The Ghetto” (Bounty Killer), “Who Am I” (Beenie Man) and “Tekk” (Vybz Kartel).  Some aged Sizzla, Buju and Beres songs also made the cut, giving listeners a fair balance of reggae music over the last 15 years.   This is a dubplate special definitely worth copping.  SOUNDCHECK:Krystal & Shabba Ranks “Twice My Age”

Hip-Hop Rumors: Swizz Beatz Opens Half A Club, Ray J: The Male Superhead?

LIL’ WAYNE REAFFIRMS THE FACTS

We already know the Hot Boys are coming back in full force, but let me reiterate it like Lil’ Weezy Wayne. The University of Florida in Championshipville had a concert with Fab and Wayne the other night. Both Fab and Wayne did the damn thing, but the crowd went super crazy when Wayne said, “Do y’all remember the Hot Boyz? Well, guess what? We’ree Baccccckkkk.” On top of it all, Wayne almost didn’t get to perform, because the local “Hip-Hop” police were searching his dressing room for anything they could arrest him on. He nearly left, but stayed to perform. I heard that it was a proverbial day of happiness for all students.

Oh yeah – Wayne is supposed to be doing some sort of Pay-Per-View concert. Interesting.

SWIZZ BEATZ OPENS HALF A CAR DEALERSHIP

How do you open half of a car dealership? You have to ask Swizz Beatz that one. From what I heard, Swizz is the first Hip-Hop artist to open half of a car dealership. Well, this is the plan, from what I heard. Swizz is open up a half car dealership during Superbowl weekend in Phoenix, AZ. The bottom part of it will sell whips and the top will be a club. So, ballers and actually buy a car, and go upstairs and make it rain. Aight now –HOLLA DEN.

RAY-J AKA SUPER CAT

I guess we have to find a name for Ray-J for his next career move. Ray J is penning an autobiography called “Sex Machine.” I heard he plans to let the “cat” out the bag on all the chicks he’s slept with. Does this sound familiar? No, I don’t mean it sound desperate. It sounds to me that he’s following in the footsteps of his former boo, Superhead. I think he needs a new name. I propose Super Cat, but that might be disrespectful to the Reggae artist. Send me your suggestions to [email protected].

FOXY BROWN STILL WORKING FROM JAIL

Well, I’m hearing that Koch has invested quite a lot of dinero in the Foxy Brown project and they intend to make their money back. From what I heard some of the Foxy vocals have been passed over to Movado, who is a serious G over there in Jamaica. I heard that they got the song together and it shall be called “Fire” and its one of the last songs for Foxy’s new CD. But Fox planned the collaboration way before she got incarcerated, because she shouted Mov out on the track. If I was Foxy, I would shout out random names like “Nas,” “Jay,” “TI,” and others just in case Koch could get them on the album.

BOBBY BROWN FINDS GOD

I know God has to be mad at people only finding him and Jesus after they get into some mess. Well, rumor has is Bobby Brown is the latest celebrity to locate God in his time of strife and pain. I heard that he’s found himself a church institution in Los Angeles, which focuses on self help. I heard that, aside from not having any money, the stress of not having his daughter with him and his divorce have gotten him down. On the other side, Whitney Houston seems to be doing better than ever now that Clive Davis has cleaned her up.

WOW – TERRIBLE – ANNA NICOLE’S PRE-DEATH PICTURES ONLINE

I am sure you will be able to view this morbid scene soon, but the pictures of Anna Nicole Smith are out there on the net. The images are very sickening and graphic pictures of her right before she died. In the pictures, it is clear she is alive, but very messy with vomit all over her. But, they are saying that she was totally inebriated when the pictures and actually looked deceased at first sight. Also, rumor has it that the pictures were taken by her “man” Howard K. Stern. Why would somebody that supposedly loved you take those type of pictures know they would leak. They always leak when you are dealing with a star like Anna Nicole. Anyway…moving on.

Musab: Slicks Box

Musab is a hustler with a conscience. The Minnesota-bred rapper, also a pimp by day, spends most of Slicks Box (Hiero Imperium) both acknowledging the repercussions of his trade and offering no apologies for enjoying its spoils. But apparently it really is hard out here for a you-know-what, and it seems Musab uses this album as a tool to help sort out the baggage attached to his chosen field (or rather, the field that chose him). Sorta like therapy, if you will. The result is a blend of 12 cocky and introspective joints, all produced by King Karnov, and designed to give you an idea of who the eleven-year vet (also known as Minnesota Slicks) is, where he’s coming from and where he could be going. From jump, Musab takes a defensive stance on “Night of Mirage”: “Also, I don’t have to prove/ Nothing to you on how I get my family food/’Cause on the day of judgment/We all got something comin’.” But perhaps the person casting the most  disapproval on Sab’s way of life is himself, as evidenced on the horn-inflected “I Won’t Die”: “I gave up stealing ‘cause it brings bad karma/I gave up dealing ‘cause it kills black mamas/ And I don’t need that drama.” Yet the life is good enough to him to merit the kind of bragging on “I Ain’t Even in the NBA”: “Dressed to impress/Only mess with the best/ Got your car note here/Layin’ on my chest,” and the exceptional “Hat and Shoes.” Complete with live instrumentation, the smoothed out, flute-driven track details the sweet lifestyle of Slicks, aka the “ghetto Fonzie.”Still at the end of the day, Musab, like everyone else living that street life, realizes there’s a higher power than money to answer to and pleads his case to Him in the reflective “Confessions of MN Slicks.” As Bobby Womack croons in the distance alongside a mean bassline, Musab implores, “I’m a brother on the struggle/Not a bad seed/And I have seeds/That’s why gradually/I try to change my ways/So they don’t take after me.” But d#####, it’s hard to resist the lure of the fast life and Musab admits toward the end of the song that, “I like the flash, cars and the dough I stack/I left a normal man’s life/And ain’t no going back.” Slicks Box is not a bad listen, with decent production and lyrics, though at times both border on mediocre. What’s refreshing is that Musab could easily have spent his time glorifying what he does, but chose instead to present Slicks Box as simply a glimpse into the life of a man who is someone’s son, father, and brother—who happens to pimp and hustle to make ends meet. He’s not perfect, he contradicts himself, and he knows it.  God would understand. SOUNDCHECK:Musab “Confessions of MN Slicks”Musab “I Ain’t Even In The NBA”
