Godzilla Movie As Loud As It's Roar

When the trailers for Godzilla first came out, many viewers were mystified by the unknown. They were familiar with the story of Godzilla, but all you heard was Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad’s trembling voice and a terrorizing roar at the end of the trailer.  Often times in movies and in life what people fear the most is the unknown and Godzilla plays on that fear throughout the movie leading the viewer along an epic sci-fi thriller.

While the movie remakes the 1950’s Japanese hit, Gojira, this remake pulled three different CGI companies together to make a final product that puts this movie in a realm of its own. This is a must see movie, especially in IMAX 3-D, it is 100% worth your money.

The movie essentially starts with Joe Brody (Bryan Cranston) working at a nuclear plant as a scientist and he begins to notice seismic activity in the region. When power plant has a malfunction, his life changes and his family is torn apart by a mysterious nuclear event.  We don’t want to give away the whole movie for those that haven’t seen it, but the movie eventually pits Gozilla against two Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms (MUTO), which look like giant bugs.

The climax is an epic battle with Godzilla and the MUTO’s, and is everything you would expect paying homage to some of the original theatrical performances of Haruo Nakajima who wore the original 200 lb Godzilla costume.  Lets just say Godzilla has come a long way from his 1950’s debut to say the least.

Gojira, Godzilla

The suspense is carried by epic graphics and explosions the keep you guessing for a good portion of the movie. Lets face it Godzilla is a pop icon, so in the end you find yourself cheering for Godzilla to win in a final battle. Part of the reason there seems to be so much modern day allure, and at times humor with the Godzilla character is partially because looking back at the old movies, Godzilla looks clearly fake to modern day viewer’s eyes. To viewers at that time it was still scary because they had never seen anything like it before. That is exactly the case in this new Godzilla movie, as viewers have never seen some of the graphics like the CGI used in this movie. Even the sounds of the movie like Godzilla’s roar are amazingly large. Again go see this in IMAX 3-D, it 100% worth the show.
