Birdman Reportedly Halts Negotiations With Lil Wayne Over Disses Directed At Cash Money

IS THE LAWSUIT AT A HALT OVER WEEZY’S DISSES TO BIRDMAN?

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Lil Wayne’s lawsuit against producer Birdman has reportedly suffered another setback.

Wayne filed a $51 million lawsuit against his Cash Money Records boss in early 2015 accusing his former mentor of withholding money he was allegedly owed for his album Tha Carter V, which remains unreleased.

In September, Birdman was ordered to hand over his accounting records to Wayne’s lawyers so they could determine how he allegedly spent the $70 million they were supposed to split from a $100 million advance given by executives at parent company Universal Music Group.

Now, TMZ reports that a source close to both parties claims lawyers acting for the musicians were close to reaching a deal on their $51 million lawsuit.

However, after Wayne publicly criticized Birdman, real name Bryan Williams, at a concert earlier this month, by changing the lyrics of song “I’m Me” from, “I’m a m##her f##king Cash Money millionaire” to shouting out Jay Z’s Roc-A-Fella instead, Birdman has allegedly called a halt to the negotiations.

The “Lollipop” hitmaker, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., signed a deal with Jay Z and Tidal last summer to be an artist/owner at the streaming service.
And as Birdman reportedly doesn’t get along with the Roc Nation boss, it made the comment that bit more pointed.

Wayne also shouted “Suck my d##k!” at the same show and subsequently a source tells the news outlet that Wayne’s latest outburst has prompted Birdman to pull the plug on a meeting which was hoped would finally resolve the lawsuit.
