Fubu Records 54th
Platoon will be on hand in the 9th Ward in New Orleans, LA to personally hand
out 1500 turkeys for Thanksgiving to families in need.
The giveaway in
New Orleans will coincide with a turkey giveaway that the owners of FUBU are
providing in Jamaica, New York. FUBU has been doing the turkey giveaway since
1999.
This will be the
first year that 54th Platoon will participate in Team FUBU’s annual turkey giveaway.
The members of the group, T.L., Nu Black, JS and Big Nut felt that donating
turkeys to people in need within their own community would in essence show the
people of New Orleans that 54th Platoon has love for their community.
The FUBU Foundation
was established in 1999 to serve the community. Each year Team FUBU plans different
events nationwide. The Foundation has donated to the victims of September 11
terror attack and has established a $10,000 book scholarship for design students
at Clark Atlanta University.
