At least two high-profile events surrounding this year’s Democratic National Convention in Denver are expected to feature Hip-Hop acts, early reports indicate. The RIAA is said to be courting Kanye West as the headlining act for a celebration of U2 front man Bono’s One Campaign. Also expected to appear at the DNC are Wyclef Jean and N.E.R.D., who will both entertain crowds attending MTV’s Rock The Vote bash. The 2008 Democratic National Convention takes place in late August, with festivities at the Pepsi Center from the 25th to the 27th, and a grand finale at INVESCO Field at Mile High on August 28, during which Senator Barack Obama will officially accept the Democratic Party’s nomination to represent the party in the presidential elections in November.
