Lauren Lazin, the Oscar-nominated director of Tupac Resurrection, will debut her latest biopic The Last Days of Left Eye on April 19 at the 31st Atlanta Film Festival. Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes was known as the eccentric personality of TLC, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. In March 2002, the singer/rapper ventured into Honduras on a spiritual retreat, which she captured on hours of unedited video footage. Within a month, Lopes was dead from a tragic car accident. Lazin edited these tapes, which also includes the last moments of Lopes’ life, to compile her new film.
