AllHipHop.com and digital music leader uPlaya have announced a deal designed to bring new artists into the limelight.
The two companies have created the Music Universe Contest, which will use uPlaya’s patented Hit Song Science technology to determine a winner and three finalists.
The unique software rates songs based on “hit potential” regardless of genre.
To make sure a human element is in place, the staff of AllHipHop.com will have the final say on the winner, who will then receive exposure on the site’s radio channel and a feature editorial.
Interested artists can submit their work on the Contest page located at uPlaya.com. All participants will have access to widget applications to post their albums, songs, and awards on the web’s various music blogs and social networking sites.
David Meredith, CEO of uPlaya parent company Music Intelligence Solutions, lauds the partnership as a great tool in bringing exposure to the unrecognized talents representing Hip-Hop worldwide.
“AllHipHop is the most respected Hip Hop portal on the Internet today,” Meredith told AllHipHop.com. “Hip-Hop represents a global community that includes talented new artists from around the world and the combination of AllHipHop and uPlaya will provide exposure and recognition for their talents.”
AllHipHop.com co-founder Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur framed the deal as a building block in further unifying the now global Hip-Hop community.
“uPlaya’s patented Hit Song Science and Music Universe services identify the most talented Hip Hop artists from around the world which expands AllHipHop’s brand and exposes our audience to emerging trends within the Hip-Hop culture,”Creekmur explained. “Our partnership with uPlaya represents an innovative approach to breaking new talent in the Hip Hop community globally.”
The deadline for Music Universe applications is November 1, and can be submitted at http://uplaya.com/contests/allhiphop .
