Big Sean Explains Taking His Time To Release His Fifth Studio Album

The Detroit representative has a couple of conversations with Angie Martinez.

(AllHipHop News) A few weeks ago, it seemed as if Hip Hop was entering into Big Sean season. The G.O.O.D. Music rapper began releasing songs such as “Single Again” and “Bezerk” featuring A$AP Ferg and Hit-Boy.

Those new 2019 singles had some fans expecting a project to arrive soon. Sean recently spoke to Angie Martinez, and he talked about the delay in his upcoming fifth studio album which is tentatively titled Don Life.

“I wanted to give myself the proper amount of time to really just deliver something that I was super proud of,” said Big Sean when asked if he is putting a lot of pressure on himself over the project.

“Single Again” peaked at #64 on the Hot 100 and only spent 3 weeks on the chart. “Bezerk” debuted at #89 before falling off the tally the next week. Sean has seen greater success on the Billboard 200 album chart. 2015’s Dark Sky Paradise and 2017’s I Decided hit #1.

“I’m not here for the moment. I’m here for the longevity,” Sean told Martinez during a separate interview in New York City. “It’d be different if I had to capitalize off like one hit song or a one-hit-wonder type of vibe. I’ve seen a lot of people come and go, and I take pride in being an artist who tries new things. I evolve. I’m never scared to put any idea I have out there.”
