Doja Cat is exhausted.
The 30-year-old rapper revealed during an Elle UK cover story that she’s seriously considering stepping away from music for three solid years once her “Tour Ma Vie” world tour wraps in December 2026.
She laid it out plainly: “‘I think I want to take three years off. I want to just do whatever. I might do another mural. I’m going to furnish this whole upper area of my house because there’s literally nothing in here and there’s been nothing in here for four years or five. So, that’s bizarre.”
And when Doja says whatever, she means it. That’s not casual burnout talk. That’s someone ready to check out.
The timing is brutal because Doja’s in the middle of one of the most ambitious touring cycles of her career. She dropped her fifth studio album Vie in September 2025, and the Tour Ma Vie tour kicked off in November 2025.
She’s currently overseas on the European leg, not coming to North America until October. But even while performing, she’s already planning her exit strategy. That’s how tired she is.
What makes Doja’s announcement different from other artist burnout takes is that she’s not apologizing for it. She’s not framing it as depression or tragedy.
She’s saying plainly that she wants space to live like a regular person for a minute, painting, designing her space and being present.
The music industry has owned most of her adult life since she blew up eight years ago with mega hits. She’s earned rest.
