(AllHipHop News) Cordellious “Lil Dell” Dyess is currently behind bars. The 19-year-old aspiring rapper from Florida was arrested by the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Austell, Georgia on Tuesday.
Lil Dell (also known as Baby 9) had been on the run from authorities for months. He was wanted for murder and other charges related to the Memorial Day weekend killing of 20-year-old Elizabeth Harris.
Harris was reportedly shot by a stray bullet outside the Platinum Night Club in Pensacola, Florida. According to investigators, over 40 gunshots were fired from seven different firearms at the location.
Lil Dell is the fourth suspect jailed in connection with the homicide. 18-year-old Tequan Warren, 17-year-old Markesia James, and 19-year-old Dante Walker were arrested in August.
Dyess, Warren, and James were indicted last month on charges of first-degree felony murder, attempted second-degree murder, and shooting into an occupied vehicle. Walker was charged with accessory to murder.
Police believe the violence at the Platinum Night Club was the result of a rivalry between two gangs. Apparently, the intended target survived being shot in the back. The incident supposedly stemmed from a 2017 fight which led to 22 other local shootings.
“Even if they had not shot my daughter, what if they shot and killed the young man they were really looking for? This is [an] unnecessary crime,” said Elizabeth Harris’ mother, Tawanna Campbell. “It’s a lose-lose situation. These children have lost their lives, my daughter has lost her life and they’re gonna lose family. I’ve lost my family. It’s just too much.”
An Instagram page associated with Lil Del uploaded screenshots from articles about his arrest in Georgia. The caption for one of the IG posts reads, “I wanted you to hear me before it was [too] late.” Over 12,000 users follow the @lildell_900 account.
