(AllHipHop News) French Montana could be viewed as an American success story. The Bronx-raised rhymer was actually born Karim Kharbouch in the African country of Morocco, so he credits immigrating to the U.S. as an important part of his life story.
A TMZ cameraman caught up with the Epic recording artist to ask him about immigration. Montana mentioned current President Donald Trump and former President Barack Obama before sharing his goal of becoming a figure of inspiration.
“I want to be like the perfect example for these kids that come from Africa, that come from third-world countries, that come from places where there’s no hope,” said French. “All you gotta have is faith. And I want to be the face of that.”
In 2017, Kharbouch pledged $100,000 to fund ambulances, premature incubators, cribs, and a blood bank for Uganda’s Suubi Health Center. as part of the #UnforgettableDanceChallenge fundraiser campaign. The following year he was named a Global Citizen ambassador.
“My life changed forever after my trip to Uganda and I am excited to continue engaging my fans to use their voices to advocate for universal health coverage and education for those living in extreme poverty,” stated French Montana in 2018.
