(AllHipHop News) Kanye West has said he wants to officially tour off his new Jesus Is King album “right away.” The last time West hit the road in 2016, his “Saint Pablo Tour” ended early after the rapper was hospitalized for exhaustion and psychiatric observation.
With that history of instability, there are reports that insurance companies have concerns about Kanye’s upcoming trek. According to TMZ, insurers will write a policy for his tour, but they will not cover hospitalization due to mental health issues.
West has been open about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and there have been public moments where the 42-year-old musician appeared to be in a manic state. The cover art for his 2018 album, Ye, featured the words: “I hate being Bi-Polar its [sic] awesome.”
In 2017, Kanye West filed a $10 million lawsuit against Lloyd’s of London over the “Saint Pablo Tour” cancellations. The insurance company countersued. Both parties eventually settled the legal dispute, and West allegedly received most of what he was due under the policy.
The release of Jesus Is King was proceeded by Kanye presenting his Sunday Service events around the country. He recently livestreamed the Christian showcase from The Forum in Los Angeles. The performance featured appearances by Kenny G and the Clipse.
