Jada Pinkett Smith Talks Relationship With 2Pac & ‘All Eyez On Me’ Biopic (VIDEO)

“WE HELD EACH OTHER DOWN”

(AllHipHop News) Jada Pinkett Smith is one of the stars of the new movie Girls Trip.

Before the flick hits theaters on July 21, Smith sat down with Sway In The Morning to talk about her reaction to another movie.

The veteran actress was an outspoken critic of the Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me.

While speaking with Sway, Jada explained her relationship with Pac.

“When we first met, I was a drug dealer,” revealed Smith. “Something very bad happened to me. As I was coming out of the life, he was going more into the life.”

The Gotham star said she plans to write a book about her life that will include sections covering Shakur.

“Pac and [my] relationship was about survival. That’s how it started. I know most people want to always connect it in this romance thing. That’s just because they don’t have the story,” Smith explained. “But it was based on survival, how we held each other down.”

When it came to All Eyez On Me, Smith added, “Even with the movie and how upset I’ve been, a couple of days ago I had to just lay that down too and realize this is God’s work. It’s not for me to try to protect his legacy. Whatever Pac’s fate has been around his life, story, legacy, God’s got it. I just gotta lay down my feelings and trust that God’s got this.”
