Cardi B Loses Attempt To Keep Mixtape Extortion Lawsuit Testimony Private

A male model claims he suffered damages when Cardi B used his tattooed body on her break out mixtape.

(AllHipHop News) Cardi B has lost her bid to keep the private testimony she gave in a $5 million mixtape battle confidential.

According to court documents, a federal judge has ordered the transcript of her deposition to be filed unredacted.

Cardi is fighting allegations she used one of Kevin Michael Brophy, Jr.’s photos of her on a mixtape cover for “Gangsta B##ch Music Vol. 1.” without permission.

The judge was asked to file certain documents under seal, including Cardi’s deposition transcript, over fears it could be considered “sensational and gossip-worthy” and potentially embarrassing to Cardi B if made public, but the lawmaker has dismissed the request.

“There are neither compelling reasons nor good cause to file these documents under seal,” he ruled. “A generalized concern about ‘gossip’ or possible embarrassment fails to outweigh the presumption in favor of access.”

Cardi B maintains she is being extorted and is refusing to pay Brophy anything if she has her way.

The Bronx rapper claims the man on the cover of her mixtape is dark-skinned, while Kevin Brophy is clearly a white male.
