Megan Thee Stallion Changes Her Name For Debut Album

The Houston hottie is preparing to drop her new debut under a new name.

(AllHipHop News) Megan Thee Stallion is releasing her debut album under the new persona of Suga.

The star revealed she was dropping her first full-length record in 2020.

She revealed her new name as she sat down for an interview with National Public Radio following her performance at the inaugural Tiny Desk Fest.

“I felt like my mixtapes were me flirting with my fans,” the “Hot Girl Summer” hitmaker said. “I never wanted to do an album ’cause I was like, ‘Oh, that feel like marriage. That’s a commitment.’ But now, I’m ready to settle down with an album.”

The rap star has played with alter egos in the past.

Her debut EP Tina Snow was inspired by Pimp C’s alias Tony Snow, and has similar confidence and an unapologetic sexual dominance, while Hot Girl Meg was the “college party girl” at the center of her latest mixtape, “Fever.”

Explaining Suga, she shared: “She’s besties with Tina Snow…it’s a big problem.”

In addition to working on a character for her album, Megan made her acting debut as a private investigator in the first episode of “Hottieween” – the web series she produced in association with YouTube Music.
