Salaam Remi Launches Ambitious “Do It For The Culture” Campaign To Find New Artists

SALAAM REMI WANTS TO “DO IT FOR THE CULTURE”

(AllHipHop News) Veteran producer Salaam Remi is launching a new music platform to help a variety of hand-picked emerging artists receive a valuable boost to their careers.

Salaam’s label Louder Than Life’s new “Do It For The Culture” is planning on dropping 50 songs every few months for the next few years.

The producer is looking to discover new artists from all genres straight off of the streets, or through valuable, trusted co-signs.

“I have a sweet spot for singer songwriters and for people who make music that is outside of the norm,” Salaam Remi told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “I will continue to provide that option for artists out there so people don’t feel as if they are required to fit the mold of today’s pop trends. I look forward to giving more artists a shot at doing what they do best not just for myself, but for the culture.”

So far, current releases from the “Do It For The Culture” campaign are out from NO PANTY (Nitty Scott, Bodega Bamz, Joell Ortiz), The Champagne Flutes, Sex All Summer, Miraa May, Elle Varner, Mack Wilds, Miguel, and BJ The Chicago Kid.

Salaam, who has worked with The Fugees, Nas, Amy Winehouse, Fergie, Estelle, Miguel, Alicia Keys, is also developing a new crop of artists, including Algerian-born/London raised singer Miraa May.

“I get excited by the reaction that we got from people, which is why I decided to put out more music – ‘for the culture’.”
