When Nore was apprehended by the Manhattan police yesterday (Sept. 3), the authorities also booked fellow Queens rapper Tragedy Khadafi after weed was found in the Def Jam rapper’s Hummer.
“Trag was with Nore when they were pulled over,” a rep for the rapper confirmed with AllHipHop.com. “He’s currently locked down as well.”
The rep didn’t have specific charges that the rappers face nor when either would get out of jail.
According to police reports, Nore’s truck was stopped on Sept. 3 in Manhattan after the NYPD received a report of an individual outwardly holding a gun while getting into a similar styled vehicle. Police found no firearm in the truck, but claimed they found marijuana and arrested all of the vehicles four occupants.
Years ago, after the success of Capone-N-Norega, Tragedy (also known as the Intelligent Hoodlum)and Nore were embroiled in a personal squabble that was chronicled in Tragedy’s song “Blood Type.”
Tragedy and Nore eventually settled their differences and have begun to collaborate on new material. Capone appears on Trag’s latest LP,Still Reportin’.
As the Intelligent Hoodlum, Trag, made his splash down in 1989 on Marley Marl’s In Control Vol. 1. In 1988, the rapper did roughly 20 months on Rikers Island and emerged a lyricist that immersed himself in African American Studies and embraced The Nation of Islam.
As one of Marley Marl’s Juice Crew, Intelligent Hoodlum released his self-titled debut, Intelligent Hoodlum, in 1990. He went on to release 1993’s Tragedy: Saga of a Hoodlum. He appeared on CNN’s “T.O.N.Y.” and “LA, LA,” the now infamous dis of Snoop Dogg’s Dogg Pound. In 2000, he released Against All Odds 2000 to critical acclaim.
