Trina didn’t appreciate the internet running a narrative that had nothing to do with what actually happened at her concert.
A video circulated showing the Miami rap legend appearing visibly upset, grabbing her husband, Benjamin “Swurv” Kearse, by the arm and pulling him away from what looked to be an escalating situation, and social media immediately assumed she was publicly disciplining him on stage.
The speculation spread quickly, with people convinced they were witnessing a relationship moment unfold in real time. But Trina had other plans for that story.
She jumped on Instagram to set the record straight, making it clear that protective energy and relationship drama are two completely different things.
Trina explained that an altercation had actually started on stage, and she was making sure Swurv was safe after things got heated.
“I was NOT checking my husband. I was making sure he was good due to an altercation that took place on stage. Too many people with bad energy. So I made everybody back up. I’m gonna always protect mine. Stop with the false narrative and lies.” Trina said.
The couple quietly married on May 22, 2024, in Miramar, Florida, and they’ve kept their relationship mostly out of the public eye since then.
Trina’s known for being independent and fierce about her boundaries, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that she’s equally protective when it comes to her man.
She’s built her entire career on standing her ground, and that same energy extends to her personal life.
