Tyga’s Former Jewelers Team With Former Landlord’s Lawyers To Try And Collect Their Money


(AllHipHop News) Jewelry store owners are renewing their legal challenge against Tyga after the rapper was recently forced to pay up in a separate unpaid bill case.

The “Rack City” star faced being arrested when he returned to the U.S. after a judge issued a bench warrant earlier this month, when Tyga failed to show up in court as part of a long-running debt dispute with a landlord. While the property owner won a $480,000 judgment against Tyga back in March, the rapper never paid up.

Tyga finally settled the debt out of court, leading to the warrant being rescinded, and now staff at the Jason of Beverly Hills jewelry store are hoping for a similar success.

They have reportedly hired the landlord’s lawyers, Danny Abir and Boris Treyzon from Abir, Cohen, Treyzon, and Sal, to help them get the money Tyga has allegedly been owed them since January, 2014, according to TMZ.com.

Company executives filed a lawsuit against the rapper, real name Micheal Ray Stevenson, in 2013 for not returning a diamond Cuban link chain he borrowed in 2012, and for failing to pay for a diamond pantheon watch.

A judge sided with the firm in January, 2014 and ordered Tyga to hand over the full amount he owed, which totaled $208,330.

At the time, Tyga told TMZ.com it was a misunderstanding and his legal team would try and resolve the issue, but company bosses claim they still haven’t seen any money.

He had previously denied the allegations on social media, claiming the watch was a gift, tweeting, “How u (you) sue for a watch that suppose 2 b a gift (sic). jasonofbh u butthurt? need press that bad? I spent over 500k with u… Loyalty ain’t shi I see (sic)!”

The landlord, Gholamreza Rezai, successfully received a settlement on August 11, after he originally began legal action in 2012, suing Tyga for unpaid rent, damages, and compensation for alleged vandalism.

The unspecified settlement was “to the mutual satisfaction of all parties,” according to TMZ.
