(AllHipHop News) Cee Lo may be tied up promoting his hit new album The Lady Killer, but the superstar singer has not lost sight of his Hip-Hop career. According to reports, Cee Lo is about 11 songs deep into a new album with his Atlanta Hip-Hop group, Goodie M.O.B. The group reunited in 2008 and are now in the recording studio. “A lot of the times when you’re recording, the first few songs hardly ever get used, so we’re just getting started. Now that Lady Killer is done, and I’m out of that space, I can give my undivided attention to Goodie Mob and make sure that that’s seen all the way through,” Cee Lo told MTV. Cee Lo’s critically acclaimed album The Lady Killer is in stores now. Kanye West’s former girlfriend Amber Rose will don her entrepreneurial hat when she opens up a new store in Los Angeles. Hip-Hop Rumors: Jay-Z Snubs “Ether” Kim Kardashian & The Dream? Fake Dipset Reunion?

Now, if you were on twitter watching it all unfold in Atlanta, you would have thought it was the best thing since…Dipset was united. Honestly, I was watching twitter and hating! But, I heard the tweets didn’t tell the whole truth at the highly hyped up Diplomats reunion over the weekend. I heard it was more like a Jim Jones / Freakey Zekey party or something. There was no Cam’ron and No Juelz Santana. Oh well, I guess people had fun or they lied a lot on twitter! I believe the real Dipset reunion goes down in New York later in t he month.

JAY-Z DISSES ETHER

Jay-Z is doing a nice job. It almost seems like he is re-writing history a bit. He did an interview on Hot 97 and claimed that “Ether” didn’t even come close to his “Takeover” diss. Hmmmm….

“I think in history when we look back, and I don’t mean no disrespect to Nas, I think when we look back it’s not even close. I just think it was a better record.”

Well…I understand he’s biased but, not even close? I can’t agree with that. I’ll also say that the circumstances surrounding Nas’ return with “Ether” was as epic as the song.

With that said.

Jay is killing it. LOL! Dude did a book reading with Dr. Cornel West. I need some of the other legends to step their game up! Jay’s taking over! Nas too! We need that new album, Esco! A NERD GETS MARRIED

N.E.R.D. member Shay Haley got married to Jackie Garcia, the former girlfriend of murdered NFL star Sean Taylor. A lot of people were there, include Pharrell, who was also the best man. The girl is the niece of gangsta actor Andy Garcia! Taylor was as home invaders ran up in their Florida home. They and shot the former Washington Redskins player with their infant daughter in the room. That’s some old mess. I hope she’s happy with Shay and Shay’s happy with her.

KIM K. AND THE DREAM?

Oh no. I hope this isn’t some form of f**king for tracks. Kim Kardashian and The Dream have been quietly working on new music. But, when they were seen all cozy at a basketball game, the rumors started. Kim has already said nothing is poppin with Dream. They did it for the photo op.

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

RIP to Messy Mya. She was an upcoming rapper that died in a tragic fire.

Russell Simmons told Kanye he didn’t need to apologize about G. W. Bush and I agree. EFF THAT!!!

DaMN! Antonio Margarito got beat up bad by Manny Pac Man Pacquiao, but guess what? He had to have reconstructive surgery! Man, the ref should have stopped that one!

Fantasia is still going through it with her man Cook. Cook’s wife is still suing and they are negotiating how much she’s gonna pay her. Meanwhile, Cook was back with his wife. Fantastic Fantasia Fail.

LOL @ Ne-Yo at Porsche Racing School with D-Nice like 2 days after his daughter is born.

People are saying that Diddy proposed to Cassie, but I think that was to throw interference on the rumors that he was p##### at Jay Electronica.

Gasp! You Mean There Is Still Racism?

When did people begin acting as if racism died? Why is

it that when you read the newspaper and/or watch television, people act

as if Blacks and other ‘minorities’ are just plain lying when it comes

to speaking on being treated differently because of their background?

People continue to deny our claims, until they see a video like the one posted on this site, Woman Caught On Tape Racially Insulting Ex-Postal Worker.

This woman goes on a racial tirade against a helpless postal worker,

but swears during it that she’s not a racist. I’m not shocked. It’s

extremely common amongst people like her – to think that they did noting

wrong – and will not be penalized for speaking and/or thinking like

that.Amazingly, many racists feel that they

have the right to not only speak like this with no fear of retribution,

but that they are correct in their thinking. They feel they are above

the law – and since it’s against one of us – it’s their right, and as

long as they aren’t too blatantly racist, everything will turn out in

their favor. It’s a broken record; and what makes it even more

interesting is the IQ level of racists and bigots. Well, actually, it

runs across the boards because I’ve met CEO’s and Presidents of

companies who were racist, but it seems as if the more ignorant ones are

the ones who try to come across as being intelligent when they are just

the opposite.

Ah, the daily life of a Black person living in the United States of America.

It’s a shame that people don’t realize the daily s###

we put up with when we walk into a nice department store, into the

rundown grocery store,  go to work and step on public transportation. I

just know there are people looking at me in a stereotypical manner

because of their own ignorance. I see the way white women grab their

belongings not realizing that I probably make more than them in a

legitimate job. I notice the salesman watching me when I go shopping at a

high end department store – wondering why I am in there – when he would

have to work three weeks to make what I make in one. I notice cops pay

very close attention to me and look up my license plates when they see

me driving in a late model luxury car, not knowing that they have to be

on the police force probably 10 years to match the salary I currently

make. And the only reason I am making these types of statements is to

show that it doesn’t matter what I do in life – and no matter where I

work-  or what I do for work, I am still a n##### in their eyes…..

I’ve seen police officers harassing Blacks who happen

to be standing on a corner after a party, just talking and being told to

get out the area. And not being told in a respectful manner either.

They have the attitude like, keep the f### off the corner or we’ll come

arrest you or even worse, do bodily harm. On the flip side, I have

witnessed, outside of posh white parties, the behaviors of drunken white

men, fighting in the streets and the officers just look at them, let

them calm down and politely ask them to leave or even help them get in a

cab.

No threats, no violence, just politeness.

Yet, as Blacks, we are taught to be very respectful of

authorities because it’s an unwritten law that they have the right to

treat us in any way they feel is right for them. But, in the YouTube

age, camcorders, flipcams and mobile phones, there will be more exposed

racism and yet, you will still see, as in the Oscar Grant case, no real

penalties for the racists….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnm_cSgPzmM

Eminem, Royce Da 5’9 Reunite On New Track ‘Living Proof’

(AllHipHop News) After years of beef, Detroit rappers Eminem and Royce Da 5’9 have reunited and released a new track titled “Living Proof.” On the new 3:45 second track, Royce and Eminem trade verses over a loop of James Brown’s famous breakbeat “Funky Drummer.”The pair formed the group “Bad Meets Evil” in 1996 and recorded several tracks until the group broke up in 2000, after Royce had a falling out with D12.A five-year feud between Eminem and Royce Da 5’9 started around 2003, after Royce had a falling out with Bizarre of D12. A few years after the April 2006 shooting death of Proof, Eminem and Royce began a dialog to peacefully resolve their ongoing issues, which were even highlighted on the popular TV series Beef.In March of 2008, after several violent run-ins between their respective camps, Royce and D12 ended their differences. In June of 2010, hints at reunion surfaced, when pictures of Royce, Eminem and The Alchemist in Paris together hit the Internet. The song’s title is an obvious tribute to Proof, who was shot and killed by a bouncer in a club on 8 Mile Road in Detroit.”I think after we lost Proof we realized how stupid this beef sh*t is,” Eminem said during a June 2010 interview on The All Out Show on Sirius Satellite’s Shade 45. “It was a serious wake-up call, man, and realizing that life’s short. It feels good to be back in touch with the homie. When I rhyme with Royce, I always gotta step it up because Royce is f*cking ill. He’s one of the illest lyricists to me, out, period.” The latest track between Eminem and Royce Da 5’9 may be further evidence that a deal between Royce’s supergroup Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Crooked I and Joell Ortiz) is close to being complete, after months of rumors that the group will eventually sign to Shady Records. To listen to the track click here.

Jay-Z Jumps Into World Of Art Collecting

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Jay-Z has revealed he has a new expensive hobby, which is collecting pricey works of art. The Hip-Hop mogul, who has a fortune estimated to be worth at least $400 million, started collecting art around 2005. Since then he has acquired several expensive works of art, including several original paintings by Andy Warhol, whose painting Rorschach is used as the cover for Jay-Z’s book, Decoded.”I got into art about 5 years ago or so. I got a couple [of Warhol’s]. I have one of the Rorschach over my fireplace in my living room,” Jay-Z revealed to Howard Stern. “It’s all about art. I try to buy things that resonate with me. I have everything from Andy Warhol to Tim Noble to Sue Simmons, who are new. I have an Ed Ruscha, David Hammons, whether it makes a ton of money for me or not.”According to Jay-Z, his love for Andy Warhol’s work also helped him get the rights to use the iconic painter’s famous work of art for the cover of Decoded. “We called the Andy Warhol estate, they cleared it one day which was amazing,” Jay-Z revealed.Jay-Z’s Decoded is due in stores tomorrow (November 16th).

Review: J. Cole – Friday Night Lights

Rating – 10 out of 10 [Editor’s note: upon second thought, and deliberation, the staff opted to change the review to 10/10. Thanks to our, Twitter fam for helping finalize the decision!]

J Cole is the first signee of Roc Nation

– and might be turning into Jay Z’s best investment.  J Cole’s

latest mixtape Friday Night Lights

was released this past Friday to a hype unseen of a free mixtape in

almost two years.  The mixtape was almost impossible to find for

a time – in an era where download sites are as popular and diverse

as skittles.  Friday Night Lights lines up to be J Cole’s

third mixtape – the others being The Come Up (2007)

and The Warm Up (2009) – with all of the previous being critically

acclaimed pieces  of music.  With Friday Night Lights

J Cole has filled up the Game breaker – creating fervor of excitement

for his debut album, Cole World

Friday Night Lights features

20 tracks of Hip Hop in its purest form.  Pleasing every fan from

purists to mainstream.  Featuring little to no features – only

3 on the main album (aside from the bonus G.O.O.D Friday release “Looking

for Trouble”) – including production credits, J Cole’s mixtape

is an excellent flexing of the musical ability J Cole has.  It

starts with the tranquil self entitled entrance track “Friday Night

Lights”, which ends with the thesis for the entire project – “What

good is being “The One” when you’re the only one that knows it?”.

Cole represents and pays homage to

the years of Hip Hop preceding him.  “Enchanted”, one of the

brightest songs on an already pearlescent mixtape, borrows the epic

chorus off of Tupac’s classic, “Hail Mary”.  While staying

true to the words, Cole manages to twist meaning into the opposite of

what it is meant while still capturing its essence.  With one of

the few features Omen delivers one of the best verses on the album –

a rare overshadowing of Cole- something Cole himself does to everyone

else.

“Before I’m Gone” is a strong,

epic, ride song – spat with such hunger and meaning  – speaking

of the times and struggles of everyday life.  Cole has the swagger

of an intelligent college kid with the hunger and spark of a young vagabond

roaming the streets.  “Villematic”, “2 Face”, and “Higher”

are all songs which make up a strong midsection – it is easy to become

lost in this mixtape.

With the large amount of songs, it

is surprising to see J Cole hold his own as the entire tape completes

itself.  J Cole’s rhyme book is deep and large as each track

is laced with complex metaphors, similes’, and alliteration – reminiscent

of his Boss, Jay Z.  “Premeditated Murder” explains his ambitions

as he predicts his current and rapid ascent into the game.  Cole

is confident and it works – it is almost his best aspect.  Songs

like “Back to the Topic”, “See World” and “Farewell” just

give off the image of a young and dangerous rapper.

The highly anticipated Drake and Cole

collaboration, “In the Morning” left none to be desired.   The song is a great showing by both artists – each artist having come

into their own – discussing a situation which might only come with

the job.  While this song worked, it does not seem almost as close

to as what could have come out of collaboration between the two.

Friday Night Lights is a mixtape

with very few blemishes and faults.  Cole nicely nits together

a very interesting precursor to his upcoming album “Cole World”

and it holds its own as one of the most complete mixtape of the year.

Is he “The One”?  Well we do not know that yet – but Friday

Night Lights definitely has us paying attention.

And she wasn’t wrong,” Diane Keaton told the Associated Press. “That’s my rap debut and that’s the end of me as a rapper. I won’t be working with Kanye, or Jay-Z. They have not called.
