The Cardigans You Need For Fall 2010

Did you know the cardigan is named after James Brudenell, the 7th Earl of Cardigan, a British military commander? Although he has been called “unusually stupid,” and “an ass,” the Earl of Cardigan was at least known as quite the snazzy dresser!

While cardigans in his day were usually knitted from wool or cotton, you can find updated styles today made of fabrics like fleece and polyester. With added twists like military-inspired details, bold graphics and embellishments, the cardigan is going strong into fall/winter 2010.

Phife, Ali Show Canceled Over International Booking Scam

(AllHipHop News) A highly anticipated performance in Australia featuring Phife Dawg and Ali Shaheed Muhammad has been canceled, after the promoter of the event was scammed by a phony booking agent. In August, Peace Music made announcements for the performances, which was to feature the two Tribe Called Quest members for a date in Sydney on November 27th.Peace Music said they were victims of a scam artist who has already duped three other promoters throughout Europe. “It has very recently come to light the agent for the tour has grossly misrepresented the artists involved, and misappropriated payments made to him on behalf of the artists,” Peace FM said in a statement. “Despite meeting with management in Australia in August, the fact that the tour dates were little more than an elaborate scam did not come to light until very recently. On further investigation Peace discovered that the ‘agent’ in question, one James Richardson of Abstrakt Visions Entertainment, had defrauded three different European promoters in connection with misrepresenting Phife earlier in the year, and that he appeared to be little more than a career con man.”Peace Music said that despite their best efforts, they could not negotiate a legitimate date with the pair’s management, so the decision was made the scrap the date, which will be replaced with a performance by Pharoahe Monch, Jean Grae and Boogie Blind. The new show will take place at the Metro Theatre in Sydney on November 26th. Ticket holders to the Phife/Ali Shaheed Muhammad show are being offered a free refund, or a two-for-1 deal to the new show featuring Pharoahe Monch and company. “Peace would like to express our most sincere regret to all those who purchased tickets in connection with this tour and look forward to presenting some of the world’s best hip hop artists this summer, including De La Soul and Mos Def,” the company said in a statement.

(AllHipHop News) Detroit rapper Eminem is back in the recording studio with super producer, Dr. Dre. Em made the revelation on his Shade 45 channel on Sirius Satellite Radio during Angela Yee’s popular “Lip Service” show. “I’m in the studio right now, still working,” Eminem said during the interview. CORMEGA DOES SONG WITH LIL B

For those that don’t know, I was on twitter talking about how baffled I was that Cormega decided to do a song with Lil B. Now, Cormega is the subject of Nas’ “One Love” and indubitably one of the most official street dudes in the game. Perhaps he doesn’t know Lil B’s repertoire like that. To each his own. “I Killed Hip-Hop” – WORD?

CORMEGA AND TWISTA, WE LOVE YALLThey keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

Record Labels Get LimeWire Shut Down

(AllHipHop News) LimeWire, the decentralized peer-to-peer file trading service, was ordered by a federal to shut down on Tuesday.

The company, Lime Wire LLC, had been in a legal battle with the major labels including Arista, BMG, Sony, and Warner Bros.

LimeWire’s demise represents a victory for the music industry’s ongoing battle against internet piracy.

The presiding judge ordered LimeWire to shut down all versions of the software as of Wednesday. The exact terms of the shut down include”the searching, downloading, uploading, file trading and/or file distribution functionality, and/or all functionality.”

If the company were to resurface, it would have to implement a copyright filter.
