Hip-Hop Rumors: More On 50/Chelsea! Eddie Long Punks SNL? Common & Serena On A Beach!

DISCLAIMER:All

info outside of what the streets have whispered in our ear. Read on.WHO: illseedWHAT: Rumors, Funnies, Fails and more!WHERE: illseed.comtwitter.com.illseedHOW: Send your rumors, sightings and ill pics to illseed at [email protected].WORD?

Is this just a play for publicity?

Me:

THE MISSING EDDIE LONG SKIT?

Sooo…I have some intel from you. I don’t know…you may be sick of Eddie but here is a rumor. Over the weekend Kanye West was on SNL, and everybody saw it. But there was something else that people didn’t see. Keenan Thompson (Keenan and Kel) was supposed to do a skit on Eddie Long, but it never aired. In the skit, he was on the weekend news report. He was talking all preachery, but wouldn’t answer any questions. He said something like, “How did I get on here without my lawyer?” Anyway. The skit was rehearsed but never aired in the live broadcast. Did Eddie stop them? Maybe he still has some ties to God? LOL!

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Yesterday, there were reports that there was some beef with Gucci and Waka Flocka. NOT TRUE. They were talking loud in a club on how to get some friends in.

Did you know Waka wants to work with Nas? Click here.

JAZZY F. HAS SOME RUMORS!

Here are some rumors from Jazzy F. he says some stuff about Lil Kim that I don’t agree with so, please don’t think illseed said that. This is all JAZZY F. I love Lil Kim…

Clearly Lil Kim is broke and this has been word on the street for sometime now. She is currently teaming up with people to start business ventures. Now if you suppose to be Queen Bee you would think she would have enough funds to start and endorse her own clothing line and beauty shop. She teamed up with Meagan Good for 24/7 Star clothing whateva that garbage line is called and her salon with her cousin who also goes to her surgeon that does her plastic surgery.

Ciara and Keri Hilson is rumored to collaborate on Keri Hilson’s new album “No Boys Allowed”. Keri was on 106 and Park and mentioned there will be a few surprises and now the streets are buzzing about a Ciara and Keri Hilson Collabo. I persoanlly think that would be a sick collabo that will heat the stage up.

Now I have not looked at the track list but I am hearing there ae some Waka Flocka and Nas collabo floating around out here in the streets. Now this better be a rumor since Nas is acting like he taking his sweet slow time with reuniting with The Firm. Also now we all know that beef with Waka Flock and Stephen Hill was album release promo. Clearly that beef would spread on the blogs like wild fire.

Let me just shed some light on this Chelsea Lately think with 50 Cent and its not because Im a Chelsea Handler stan and Jealous. Nope! it has nothing to do with that, ok maybe just a little bit. 50 Cent know how to get the people buzzing about him. I mean do we really believe they are dating? Nope! Lets just say 50 Cent is good at marketing.

Oh well!! They all hate me because I say what they wish they could.

Def Jam Makes Hip-Hop History with Rapstar Video Game

Def Jam Rapstar, the latest installment in the Def Jam Interactive platinum selling series of titles, which includes Def Jam Icon and Def Jam Vendetta. Rock music successfully crossed over to the video game business with mega-hits like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, yet Hip-Hop has not had a presence. Rapstar fills a void in the $60 billion dollar video game industry, which up until now lacked titles specifically about Hip-Hop music. During the E3 2010 video game conference, Def Jam Co-Founder Russell Simmons told reporters, “Cool kids like Hip-Hop all over the world. And they needed this game.”

At its heart Rapstar is a Hip-Hop Karaoke game, distributed by Konami who found much success with their own Karaoke Revolution title. Def Jam Rapstar allows rappers and R&B singers to perform duets together, a first for Karaoke video games. Hip-Hop hits like Notorious B.I.G.’s “Juicy” are featured in the game, alongside a wide range of artists including Drake, Outkast, A Tribe Called Quest, and Kanye West. Distilling 30 years of Hip-Hop music was a challenge, a rep for 4mm Games told AllHipHop.com. “The meetings about the songs were heated. Rapstar ends up going all the way back to 1988 with Salt and Pepa’s ‘Push It’ up to today with modern artists like T.I.”  Def Jam raves about Rapstar and boasts about its impact. “Hip-Hop is a global phenomenon that has permeated pop culture to become the most important youth movement of our generation. We are proud to deliver the first authentic Hip-Hop music experience to gamers that will undoubtedly change the way music games are played,” stated Kevin Liles, President and CEO of Def Jam Enterprises. “It is an incredible opportunity to work with 4mm Games and Terminal Reality in developing Def Jam Rapstar. So show us what you got!”4mm Games is a new developer created by the two co-founders of Rockstar games, best known for its hit Grand Theft Auto series. Together with Terminal Reality (Developers of Atari’s Ghostbusters and Majesco’s BloodRayne) they created new voice recognition software which grades each player’s performance based on pitch, timing, and verbal accuracy. Many Karaoke video games can currently be mumbled through to trick the software into high scores, but Rapstar promises to recognize lyrical flow and wordplay even on Twista tracks, demanding a new level of accuracy for singing games. Rapstar is available as disc only but will also offer a bundle which includes a microphone. Using the console’s camera, the game records a 30 second performance video which can be uploaded to the DefJamRapstar.com online community and shared with player’s Facebook and Twitter profiles. The videos are viewable by other users and voted on in online battles. The game also includes a Freestyle mode which allows emcees to record their own hottest sixteen bars over exclusive beats by hit makers like Just Blaze, DJ Premier and 9th Wonder, among others.

DMG Clearance in Delaware did the music and video publishing clearances for the game. Owner Deborah Mannis-Gardner got to see a Rapstar demo during her work on the title. “It was cool how Rapstar actually teaches different rap skills as you progress through the levels,” said Mannis-Gardner.

The game ships with 45 hit songs to perform and offers weekly downloadable content which includes additional tracks. Hip-Hop icon Redman, who is featured in the game, was quoted as saying at E3: “I’m a big gamer, and all the work Def Jam been putting out as far as games, they been winning. The new DefJam Rapstar, I like it because it shows how much you know about Hip-Hop.”  Def Jam Rapstar is in stores now, on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii consoles.

EXCLUSIVE: Waka Flocka Flame Interested In Nas Collaboration

(AllHipHop News) Waka Flocka Flame marked a career milestone today with the release of his debut album Flockaveli. But the Brick Squad emcee also has his sights set on achieving a surprise pairing with Queensbridge legend Nas.Several months ago, Waka Flocka cited Nas to AllHipHop.com as his choice for the best rapper of all time. With his name continuing to gain momentum via his well-received singles, Flocka is open to working with more artists outside his camp, as he did on his latest hit “No Hands.” When given a list of emcees, Flocka became visibly excited at the idea of working with Nas.“Excuse my language but hell yeah!” he exclaimed.Although Nas is primarily lauded for his highly poetic rhymes, the veteran lyricist has experience with crunk music via his work with Lil Jon. The two worked together on Jon’s all-star track “Grand Finale,” and the Bravehearts single “Quick to Back Down.”Because of that, Waka Flocka Flame doesn’t feel he’d have to modify his approach to compliment Nas’ style. In fact, he argues that trying to change his presentation would take away from the potency of the proposed track.“My content, I’m on the same style,” Waka Flocka stated. “I can’t change for nobody. I guess people will like you for you. When you change you’re not being you, and then they won’t like you.”Nas is currently working on his untitled 10th album, and preparing for the release of Lost Tapes 2 on December 14.Waka Flocka Flame’s new album Flockaveli features production from Lex Luger, and appearances from French Montana, Uncle Murda, Pastor Troy and Gudda Gudda.

Travie McCoy: The Evolution of a Rock Star

Travie McCoy is ok with being called a lot of things: a rapper, a singer, a rocker, a former addict, Katy Perry’s ex-boyfriend. Whatever you do…just don’t call him Travis unless you mean business. The Gym Class Heroes front man is out on his first solo journey and the wannabe billionaire is busy carving his spot in the music industry. With an eclectic infusion of rap, rock and pop, Travie’s sound is unique and unpredictable and his story can be described the same way. Between rough break-ups, drug addiction, juggling of multiple jobs and a mission to meet Oprah, it makes one realize “celebrities” have problems just like everybody else – they’re just magnified hundreds of times more. Travie sits down with AllHipHop to talk about these issues, plus name changes, Bruno Mars, his friendship with Lil Weezy and a whole lot more. AllHipHop.com: I know you go by Travie now, but it was Travis originally…Travie McCoy: You rolled your eyes. Why’d you roll your eyes?AllHipHop.com: I didn’t! I’m just saying, that’s your thing now right?Travie McCoy: It’s been my thing. But the people that don’t like, don’t totally follow me, aren’t in my circle…they didn’t know that. My family, friends, those that know me…they’ve always called me Travie ever since I was running around as a snotty nose. But this being my first venture out of Gym Class Heroes, I just wanted people to be comfortable with calling me what everyone else calls me. A lot of people, like fans, were p##### like, “I refuse to call you Travie! Your name’s Travis!” I’m like ok, fine! But it’s not that serious, you know? Nobody called Jimmy Hendrix “James” Hendrix. Or they didn’t call Bill Clinton “William” Clinton. Well, sometimes they did. Most times they didn’t, though. But I just feel like whenever someone calls me “Travis McCoy” it’s like when your mom yells at you. Like, “Travis get your a** back in the f**king house!” I don’t know. It’s just when you’re so used to being called Travie, it’s just weird to hear Travis. Press and all that, they call me Travis but whatever, call me what you want. I could have easily decided to come up with some corny rap name for my side project but I opted to just go with what everyone calls me. AllHipHop.com:  So this is your first solo venture without your band, Gym Class Heroes. I know you’re a few months in it now, but was it weird at first not having your band behind you? Travie McCoy: We started the band in 1997. So close to half my life is invested into this band. Since the beginning we’ve all always had projects outside of Gym Class Heroes. Just other musical endeavors or whatever you want to call it, but this is just one that’s being put out on a larger scale. But being on tour with my band for the past however long, it was weird stepping out on the stage and looking to my right and not seeing Disashi. I’m looking to my left and not seeing Eric on bass, but Matt Archer from Gym Class tours with me so I have a familiar face. Matt plays drums for me so there was a familiar face but being on those stages like…I mean the first tour was the Rihanna/Ke$ha tour, so it was this huge stage that I kind of had to fill myself and make sure the people felt like they were part of something. It was awkward at first but after two or three shows I kind of got the hang of it. AllHipHop.com: Was it always a plan in your mind like, “I’m going to branch off and do my own rap thing!”?Travie McCoy: Not really. Like it wasn’t something that I meticulously plotted like, “We’re gonna do like three GCH records and then I’m gonna branch out and do the solo thing and then we’re gonna come back together! No. I’m the type of person that has to have like, six pots on the stove and be stirring each one at the same time. You know, I got to be constantly productive and be doing something or I get depressed and sad. A lot of the stuff for my album Lazarus I was writing on tour with GCH. But a lot of the material I wrote, I felt it didn’t really fit a GCH record. To be completely honest, a lot of the stuff I did in the beginning I had to scrap. AllHipHop.com: Right…I heard that 80% of the album you had to go back and do over because it was too “depressing.”Travie McCoy: Well it wasn’t really depressing it was just like, I just got out of a highly publicized break up [with Katy Perry] so a lot of the records reflected where I was at. A lot of it was a lot of animosity, a lot of confusion. I’m sure you’ve broken up with someone before right?AllHipHop.com: Yeah…that didn’t go too well for me. Travie McCoy: Exactly! So all that came out in these songs and you know, this being my first big step away from GCH, I didn’t want it to be that type of record. After songs like Billionaire and Dr. Feel Good, I realized like, “alright, this is the lane I want to stay in!” AllHipHop.com: Do you plan on getting back with Gym Class Heroes after this?Travie McCoy: We haven’t really gone anywhere. Since I’ve been on tour promoting this record, we’ve been writing for the next GCH record. Just putting in double duty and working extra on it so we’re about 16 demos deep into the next Gym Class Heroes record already. I mean, you never know. Like 3 to 4 of those 16 might make the record. You just never know but yea, a lot of people really thought that it was a wrap for GCH because I was doing this but that’s the furthest from the truth. GCH is and always will be the priority for me. AllHipHop.com: While your first single “Billionaire” is definitely more rap infused, the newer single Need You is way more pop, more singing. Do you think it kind of confuses your audience? If you gained some hip-hop fans from the urban radio stations playing “Billionaire,” do you think you lose them at all when you follow up with a pop record that’s not necessarily going to be played on urban radio?Travie McCoy: Well I think that’s the beauty of Gym Class Heroes. The fact that we can get urban radio, we can get pop radio, we can get alternative radio and we can go on tour with Fall Out Boy, get off that and go on the I Am Music tour with Lil Wayne and T-Pain and still get the same love. I can do a tour with Ke$ha and Rihanna, you know? It’s always been so hard for them to classify us, so it’s given us so much freedom to do what we want musically and that carried over into my project. I think people kind of expect to not know what to expect from me or GCH. AllHipHop.com: You guys were one of the first groups to infuse rap and rock and pop together…Travie McCoy: I think it was done before us, but it was done wrong.  Click here for Part 2

Travie McCoy: Evolution of a Rock Star Part 2

Continued from Part 1AllHipHop.com: Right, and now you see it

way more often. You look at Lil Wayne…he put out an entire rock album.

Do you feel like you and Gym Class Heroes had any kind of influence on that.Travie

McCoy: For sure! I’m not going to say any names but I’ve been in studio

sessions working with producers where a big name artist will come in

and be like, “Yea, that’s cool but I want to it sound like that Gym

Class Heroes record!” You know what I mean and to me, I’m just like wow!

To have big name hip-hop artists saying that they want that GCH sound,

that blew me away. I remember one time I got a call from Pete, my boy

from Fall Out Boy, and he was just like, “Yo, Kanye just stopped his

entire show and played Cupid’s Chokehold!” And I was like, “What?!

Bullsh*t!” and I see it was on YouTube the next day. He stopped his show

and was like, “Yo, I was on my way to the show and this song came on

the radio. I told my limo driver to turn it up and he wouldn’t so I’ma

play this sh*t right now!” and he played Cupid’s Chokehold and I’m

bugging out! He was doing his little dance that he was doing…I can’t do

it but it’s crazy! It’s cool! I feel like a lot of hip-hop artists are

opening themselves up more to different types of music. GCH are

influenced by hip-hop as much as we’re influenced by indie rock or house

music, like freestyle. Like I’m a huge Stevie B. fan, you know? All

that stuff finds its way into what we do in one way or another and it’s

cool that other artists are being more open to different types of music.

You got Kanye and Jay doing songs with Coldplay which in Reasonable

Doubt days…that was unheard of! So I think it’s a beautiful thing. It

just makes for more eclectic music. AllHipHop.com:

You’re definitely recognized as a part of the hip-hop community. I mean

here we are now at the Hennessy Artistry event with Hot 97…Travie

McCoy: Yeah this is such a major thing. I’m from New York too, so the

fact they have me representing this part of the Hennessy Artistry tour,

I’m honored. AllHipHop.com:

Did you think Billionaire was going to be as big as it is? It’s sold

over 2 million copies; it’s been featured in so many shows….Travie

McCoy: It’s weird to say but after we finished it and played it back a

million times, it was like this song kind of has that “it” factor you

know? Not really sure who was going to embrace but I’m never concerned

with who’s going to like it as long as I’m into it and the people that

are around me are into it and I can look around the studio and

everyone’s bopping their heads, that’s what matters to me.AllHipHop.com: I saw “Glee” picked it up.Travie

McCoy: That was crazy! The same with Empire State of Mind. Glee is such

a big part of pop culture right now and the fact that they used

Billionaire I’m just like wow, I’m doing something right. AllHipHop.com: Has Oprah heard it yet? (laughs)Travie

McCoy: I think she has. They actually on Twitter they started a

petition to get me on her show. I shout her out so much in the song,

they’re like, it’s only right. I think I need to go to Gale and be like,

“Gale listen, talk to Oprah for me. I’m giving all this free pub man!”AllHipHop.com: And the Queen too, right? You’re going to Europe next month on tour…maybe you can talk to her.Travie McCoy: Yeah I’m gonna try!AllHipHop.com:

So now with Billionaire too….Bruno Mars was obviously a major part of

the success of the single and there’s definitely been some recent drama

surrounding him with the cocaine charges. It’s kind of crazy because you

see Soulja Boy just recently had something with that, Lindsay Lohan,

you even have a song from a few years back with Lil Wayne called “Viva

La White Girl” which is a reference to it. It just kind of seems like

it’s so much more common now in the business. Why do you think this is?Travie

McCoy: I mean, let’s not kid ourselves. Drugs and music have been this

filthy relationship since the beginning. Drugs, sex and rock and roll,

you know what I mean? That’s not to condone it at all, though. The song I

did, Viva La White Girl, that’s not condoning the use of cocaine. It

was more so comparing the high you get going to a show and listening to

music to the high you get from drugs. But I mean, it is what is is…we

all make mistakes. I was very open a couple years ago with my addiction

to pain killers and in doing that, a lot of kids came to me after shows

like, “thank you so much for being so open. You helped me get through

some rough times.” If I could do that, it is what it is. Bruno’s

situation, I don’t really want to speak on it too much but at the same

time, we don’t really know all the pressure that dude’s under right now

that would lead him to go that route, you know? There’s no instruction

manual to this type of lifestyle, you know what I mean? So we falter, we

f*ck up…we’re human. I think that just goes to show the human element

of being a celebrity and being an artist. It’s just that whenever we

f*ck up, it gets put under the microscope. There are cokeheads and crack

heads walking up and down Varick right now and nobody really gives a

f*ck but the minute one of us slips up, it’s like ahhhh! But at the end

of the day, we’re role models, whether we acknowledge that or not. But

we are human and I think that’s the most important thing.AllHipHop.com:

Right, like Wayne now doing his jail stint for a gun charge. Have you

spoke to him since he’s been in jail? I know you guys were cool from

being on tour together and everything.Travie

McCoy: I haven’t spoken to him since he’s been locked up but that’s my

boy. We were all on tour together for the longest and after that I did a

lot of Lazarus at the Hit Factory where Wayne and everybody works at. AllHipHop.com: T-Pain too, right? I know you were down with his label Nappy Boy before. Are you still down with them?Travie McCoy: Yeah, totally! I’m just really stirring all my pots, man. I’m stirring them all.

There may be too many rappers and too many events for rappers to convene. Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka may have gotten into a verbal joust that could have resulted in a fight if not for cooler heads. I wonder if Gucci remembers when he was like that dude to Jeezy once upon a time. Here is what blogger Sandra Rose is saying.“Friday night my spies tell me that Gucci and Waka almost came to blows at a pre Hip Hop Awards party in Atlanta thrown by Alex Gidewon and Belvedere Vodka at ESSO nightclub. My spies couldn’t hear what the argument was about, but they say the former friends are at war again. The shouting match started when Gucci and his crew entered the VIP inside Club ESSO where Waka and his peeps were chillin’. Words were exchanged, then Waka stepped to Gucci Mane. The two crews were quickly separated by security, but the verbal sparring continued minutes later. Security once again stepped between them and made sure that no fists or jewelry flew.”[

source]KELLY NEVER SOUNDED SO BEAUTIFUL!

Peep this! Kelly sang the national anthem at the Giants game yesterday! That’s why they won! Go Kelly!

Here she is at the BET Hip-Hop Awards. She looks like she may be showing some see-through action.

DAMN, CHINGY. THE GAME IS OVER.

WTF is the world coming to? Chingy has been exposed, as far as I can see. I mean, dude, get a banging publicist and counter the rumors or just come out! “Sidney” the tranny is on record and saying she and Chingy had a 2-year relationship.

“Sidney” stop lying and tell people you’re a man. Some other dudes are going to be “outted” soon.MARIO ISSUES STATEMENT

This pretty much confirms the rumors.

“This is an unfortunate incident between a loving son and a mother who continues to struggle with a devastating addiction. Anyone who has waged the battle to save loved ones from the forces of drugs knows the irrational behavior that almost always accompanies their actions. Despite the allegations, Mario remains committed to supporting his mother.”

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Bruno Mars is looking at 4 years in jail. Hopefully, he gets out of it. Dude wouldn’t make it in jail.

There is a rumor that Denzel Washington may be getting a divorce from longterm wife Paula. I hope not!

Tiger Woods’ older brother said that his father would be disappointed in the golfer’s sex scandal.

Was Rihanna dissing her friend when she said this: “I didn’t want the generic pop record that Ke$sha or Lady Gaga or Katy Perry would do.” Sounds like it.

I heard Brian Pumper got booed off stage recently.

In other B. Pumper fail news, 50 Cent has recently killed the p### stars dreams of being a G-Unit soldier.

50 CENT, WE LOVE YOU! They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

Yelawolf Plans Two New Studio Albums, Speaks on Interscope’s Creative Influence

(AllHipHop News) Alabama emcee Yelawolf has already mapped out the next six months with two new albums and a collaboration mixtape with Def Jam’s Big K.R.I.T.Yelawolf, who’s already had a high-profile 2010 with appearances on projects from Bizarre, Paul Wall and Big Boi, will release his first major label album in November.“Trunk Muzik: 0-60 is coming out in November, my first album release for Interscope,” he told AllHipHop.com. “After that, we’re going to be releasing an album in March called Radioactive. So it’s a lot of work.”Even with a formidable promotion machine like Interscope behind him, Yelawolf cites touring as the best form of promotion for any artist. To that end, he’s partnered with fellow breakout emcees Wiz Khalifa and Big. K.R.I.T. for the national Waken Baken tour.“[I’m] on tour with Wiz Khalifa, and after I hop off that it’s straight back in the lab to work on the album release,” Yelawolf explained. “K.R.I.T.’s on the tour too, but we haven’t done any dates together; he’s doing spot dates. That’s another mixtape I’ll be putting out with him, Trunk Muzik Wuz Here: Country Cu$$inz should be dropping soon.”The Alabama rapper is aware that due to major label protocol, he will now have to consider new factors like marketing and radio accessibility when making music. However, Yelawolf is adamant that the integrity of his music won’t be compromised.“I don’t do s**t that I don’t want to do. You can’t make me. It’s impossible, I’m too f**king stubborn,” Yelawolf stated. “I let my team deal with that in-between, creative talk. But I get it. I’m not up there to do music that people don’t understand. I’m up there to do music the world understands. I didn’t join a major label to be an underground artist.”Yelawolf’s Trunk Muzik: 0-60 is scheduled for release on November 23.
