(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop star and budding politician Wyclef Jean has accepted a fellowship at Brown University in Rhode Island. Wyclef has been appointed a visiting fellow at Brown University, where he will lecture and teach in the Department of Africana Studies for the 2010-11 academic. Additionally, the rapper will participate in Brown University’s Haiti Initiative, which is focused on restoring Haiti’s health, education and cultural sectors. The 37-year-old former Haiti Presidential hopeful recently visited Brown University, where he met with faculty and staff about the upcoming school year. The rapper, who recently announced that he would run for President of Haiti again in 2015, said his upcoming tenure at Brown would be a time of learning and reflection.“I look forward to my time at Brown as a period of learning and reflection,” Wyclef Jean said in a statement issued to AllHipHop.com. “I hope to make a genuine contribution to the rich intellectual community at the University and to its Haitian Initiative in particular. I am a lifelong student and appreciate this unique opportunity to contemplate all the potential and possibilities, as well as the contributions of my homeland, and Haitians in the diaspora, to the world’s creative culture.”Brown will also collaborate with St. Damien Hospital in Tabarre, Haiti, to address the unmet need for medics, which will also serve as an educational mechanism for Haitian medical students. “We are delighted to welcome Wyclef Jean to the Department of Africana Studies and to Brown University,” added Tricia Rose, professor of Africana studies and department chair. “As an Africana Studies visiting fellow, Jean is planning on engaging in discussions on campus and remotely, as appropriate, throughout this school year generated by Brown’s Haitian Initiative and the faculty in Africana Studies.”

The rapper was found with the headphones and a charger for an MP3 player, while another player was hiding the MP3 player for the internationally known rapper. According to TMZ.com, the rapper has been placed in punitive segregation, will have less interaction with inmates and must stay in solitary confinement for up to 23-hours-per day. The rapper, born DeWayne Carter Jr., is now only allowed to receive one personal phone call a week and one hour for recreational time. Also, when he is out of cell, his time is restricted to visitors and religious services. During an acceptance speech at the 2010 BET Hip-Hop Awards, Cash Money Records’ CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams stated that Lil Wayne would be released on November 4th 2010.Lil Wayne’s new album I Am Not A Human Being recently hit #1 on the iTunes charts. The physical release is due in stores on October 12th.

So it’s a lot of work.”Even with a formidable promotion machine like Interscope behind him, Yelawolf cites touring as the best form of promotion for any artist. To that end, he’s partnered with fellow breakout emcees Wiz Khalifa and Big. K.R.I.T. for the national Waken Baken tour.“[I’m] on tour with Wiz Khalifa, and after I hop off that it’s straight back in the lab to work on the album release,” Yelawolf explained. “K.R.I.T.’s on the tour too, but we haven’t done any dates together; he’s doing spot dates. (AllHipHop News) U.K. rapper Rowdy-T has already responded to a statement Yung Berg released today (October 4th), over a diamond encrusted necklace with a Batman pendant stolen from Yung Berg. Rowdy-T is a rapper hails from North London and Southern Florida, is associated with the Big Boyz music group. Rowdy-T allegedly stole the chain from Miami sometime over the past few weeks and posted videos of himself posing with the a handgun and the chain, while insulting Yung Berg. Yung Berg downplayed the incident during a radio interview and via a statement, but he claimed the diamond encrusted, oversized pendant had sentimental value.The rapper said he was planning to give it to a 10-year-old for charity. “Where’s it at? This batman chain is not important to me. i got chains,” told Lady T of Power 95.3 in Chicago. “The biggest issue for me was that i’m giving that away to charity, to a kid that loves batman. and now this issue comes up and I might to be able to do that. But at the end of the day, its all about the music and what I do in the studio. Don’t focus on the jewelry.”Today, Rowdy-T dropped another video dissing Yung Berg, while flaunting his chain and once again, verifying that it was Yung Berg’s chain. “I heard your little interview on ther aid station today, which was ridiculous. You said that this chain was going to be given to a 10-year-old for charity case, that’s the only reason you’re p##### off about it. Come on now, come on,” Rowdy-T calmly stated. “You got stuck. The album features guest appearances by artists like Homeboy Sandman, Boog Brown, and Oddy Gato, while producers like Nicolay, Korede, S.M.K.A., Locsmif and J-Live himself, contribute tracks to the EP.Undivided Attention is the fourth EP released by J-Live and features the rapper approaching the release as if he were a three-man crew consisting of an emcee, DJ and producer. “While they’ve worked well together for the past couple decades, it’s obvious the three have some unresolved issues,” J-Live said. “Hopefully they will be hashed out and reconciled on or before the release of next year’s full-length album.”The album J-Live is referring to is titled “S.P.T.A.” (pronounced ‘spitta’), which is an acronym for Said Person of That Ability. (AllHipHop News) Atlanta rap star T.I. is scheduled to stand before a federal judge next week for a probation violation hearing, after his arrest last month in Los Angeles for possessing drugs.T.I. will stand before Judge Charles Pannell Jr. on October 15, to try and answer the drug possession charges, after he and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle were caught with ecstasy on September 1st.The rapper was busted in Los Angeles after he allegedly made an illegal U-turn on the Sunset Strip in a pricey Maybach. In addition to being in possession of ecstasy ,the rapper failed a drug test taken after his arrest. Additionally T.I. was in the company of a convicted felon, which could also violate the terms of his probation.T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr., could be sent back to prison for up to three years for violating his probation, for attempting to purchase machine guns and silencers in October of 2007, prior to the BET Hip-Hop Awards.
